Product Overview

Main Features
  • Wireless b/g Broadband Router with Wireless 802.11b/g Access Point and 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch
The Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing resources and files. All your computers can print on a shared printer connected anywhere in the house. And your computers can share all kinds of files -- music, digital pictures, and documents. Keep all your digital music on one computer, and listen to it anywhere in the house. Organize all of your family's digital pictures in one place, to simplify finding the ones you want, and easing backup to CD-R. Utilize extra free space on one computer when another's hard drive starts to fill up.

The push button setup feature makes it easy to configure your wireless devices. Just push the button on the router and on your other Secure EasySetup-enabled wireless device to automatically create an encryption-secured wireless connection. TKIP and AES protects your data and privacy with up to 128-bit industrial-strength encryption. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, supports VPN pass-through, and can be configured to filter internal users' access to the Internet. Advanced configuration is a snap with the web browser-based interface.

With the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games with flexibility, speed, security and simplicity!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really reliable, every day I bought this router about 10 years back and it still works without any issues. I recently bought one more for my sister since she just wants the router to work without any hassle. She borrowed mine for a while and was so happy without it, but then I need mine back, so I got her a new router of this model.I have a 50mbps internet at home and when I use this router I always get full speed through the network cable, without loosing anything. I measure the speed always to 47-49mbps. When I use it wirelessly it always tops at 20-21mbps. So the speed on the wireless is a bit slow, but works fine for normal use. And since she always uses it through a cable, then she never looses any speed. I am a bit impressed also of the range, if you consider the age if the product and that it only has two antennas. My 10 years old router is running dd-wrt and it has always worked and I have NEVER needed to restart the router because something is not working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys WRT54GL wifi Router My high rating of this router is based on three factors: (1) ease of setup, (2) ability to specify dhcp and static IPs, and (3) ability to control login by setting the MAC addresses of user devices.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New router (WIRELESS) Bought last week, called for help to install as it came only with a disk to put in a PC! I only own a iPad, I no longer have a PC, the person helping with this problem, spoke in a accent that was not to hard to understand, but all they could do was get it on line, like I told them that’s great but, it says this is unsecured link, I was upset they could not or would not help me with the security of the system, so I hung up took new router off line, put old linksys router back on line had my security back! Now I just need to make up my mind what I want to do with new router, that I have back in box??????

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unreliable I installed this router about a month ago. To date I have had to reinstall it twice and reboot it 4 or 5 times. When it's on it works great but it is so irritating that I have to keep doing this over and over again.
