The reason being, my CenturyLink router did not support 5 GHz and the 2.4 GHz frequency was very congested in my apartment complex. All I had to do was change the CL modem/router to bridged mode and the Netgear router picked up the settings automatically. It was way easier than I thought it would be.

This router works on our 2600sq ft home and everywhere is covered. ( I guess I haven't tried the back yard yet! LOL) happy so far! My last Netgear router lasted 4 years. I was pleased when I learned it came with an app and the ability to "turn off" the internet for selected devices. I did, so far everything is great, less Alexa...she is being stubborn. Have completely removed her until I have time to call and get assistance setting her back up. Setup was a breeze and being able to reset it using devices that are connected to the network really classes it up ten notches. And the range on it is fantastic, prior to this a signal in the garage was like eating ice cream on the sun, non existent. Now, however it's like drinking an espresso on the French Riviera.

I need wifi about 350-400 ft from the house to the shop and after install this new router I dont have the need for a repeater in the shop anymore. I stream music and videos all day and half the nite without any problems. The only thing I should have checked on was removable antenna so I could get one outside but no need since this new one works alot better. Thankz for the great products. And ps... I love being able to turn guest wifi on and off from the app. It helps me control my daughters on-line time.

Be sure to check for firmware updates on both devices. A nice feature is - you can set up guest networks on both the 2.4 G and 5 G frequencies. Both devices have been solid so far.

I set the 5ghz band for the higher volume mb stuff (fire stick, roku tv. And the 2ghz band for smart phones and other smart devices. Home is much quicker internet overall since this purchase. Also easy setup, thanks netgear!

The Netgear R 6120 was her recommendation, but also told me the other one was also good and a little less expensive, but I went with her recommendation and am 100% glad I did! I hope I don't have to get another one for a very long time, but will definitely get another Netgear when I do.

We have over 20 devices connected to this unit. The unit also has a small footprint making it easy to tuck away in a bookshelf. I placed the router in the middle floor of a three level home and get decent coverage over the entire 2400 sqft. Highly recommend.

Since I switched to the Netgear AC1200 router, all of the problems are gone. It is a great product and I would recommend anyone use this product if they are having problems with their internet.

Signal would cut out in the middle of a Netflix episode. This new betgear router has extremely fast download speeds on my phone pc and Roku streamer simultaneously. It's excellent would definitely recommend.

Not being from the technology age, I had to finally enlist help from a younger friend who finally figured it out. I like how it has 2 different WiFi networks for when I have guests over. I also like how easy and fast the setup was. I would recommend this device to everyone.

This new router has fixed the problem and I no longer have any issues with my wi-fi in my house. I would recommend this product to others.

My Samsung Smart TV was constantly having problems. I was becoming far too familiar with the word "Loading." After the router change, all problems have vanished. The Samsung has not frozen up a single time since the change about 2 weeks ago. The measured change in speeds are tangible at 30% to 100% faster. I really didn't think that was even possible but the numbers don't lie. SOLID 5 stars.

But, I just connected it to the modem (and also the power outlet) and had wifi access. Noticed it had 4 portals, so that one of my devices I connected to the portal and was able to get internet via the cable and it works. It was a nice surprise because I thought all by getting a wifi device all I would only have wifi connections, but with the portals I have to option to connect to internet via wifi or cable. Also, I set up and account and it was easy. I just followed the steps. I have a one bedroom apartment, so maybe a less powerful device would have sufficed, but I am happy with this one. I have access to wifi in the whole apartment.

With belkin you really didn't the unlimited access to your router like you do with netgear. Now that i have netgear i can game with no lag and random disconnections. Thanks NETGEAR for coming in clutch with your amazing service.

I was expecting a router that was still good enough for my needs to cost me above 100 dollars, but I managed to snag this guy at Wal-Mart for like 70. For an AC1200 from a reputable company like netgear that is amazing. Even 1200 is overkill for me so I don't know what possed me to purchase it over a router like this a year ago, I have definitely learned who to trust in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Router signalMy streaming FINALLY works on the drop of a dime. Living out in the country makes it difficult to get good provider services. This router has helped with this issue. I'm satisfied beyond belief. I have 5 children, many devices are on at once. Still no issues! Thank you
