Somehow they try to convince you that most modem routers won't work as efficiently as there's. With some research and reading reviews from other buyers my purchase was spot on. It's also dual band and I haven't had any issues with it at all! I would definitely recommend.

There was a step in the instructions that caused me to call for tech support but eventually I was able to figure out the problem. So far it works well but let's see after I finish connecting all of my equipment.

Before making the purchase, I had to constantly reset/reboot my old setup for my Comcast/infinity service. This was a constant pain for my family, especially for my son's online gaming experience. We experienced consistent difficulty with keeping our mobile phones and wireless printer connected to the network as well. After making the Netgear purchase, not only does it save space as an all in one unit, but after owning it for about a month now, I haven't had to reboot it at all. It has performed flawlessly. I have 2 mobile devices, tablet, wireless printer, desktop PC, laptop, Roku, smart TV, and a Xbox One all connected to the Netgear ac1600. Not one single issue. Everything performs as expected, and the mobile app is an excellent feature that helps you manage your network. I have no problems recommending this modem/router.

However this modem/router combo was the best purchase I've made in a long time. I just purchased a 1600 square foot home in November and knew my old netgear modem/router wouldnt cut it. I was paying for 100mbps and was only getting 60 if I was lucky (because of how outed my old netgear was). This netgear has an awesome app you can download and the best part is I can monitor who is on my network. I have two kids in my home and its great when I can pause their internet if needed and I can monitor the speeds to make sure everyone is getting the full use out of our internet. Between the app and knowing I have two networks to use if one is being overloaded by electronics I can still get the best speeds for my electronics. Overall I would highly recommend this to any person that needs a fast and large range of wireless connectivity.

The support staff was also really helpful : when I received slow internet speed on my WIFI 2.5GHz channel, they helped me figure out that it was most likely a conflict with neighbors wireless frequencies and helped me change the channel which brought speed back to expected. The range of wifi is excellent and putting it at top floor in my 3 stories condo gives strong connection at 1st floor and garage. Really happy with this purchase.

I called Netgear and was on hold for 25 mins only to get a rep who I could hardly understand -then after 20 mins we got cut off. I called Comcast back and got a super rep who, after a long diagnosis, had me try IE browser and it worked (I had tried Chrome and Firefox. So after 3 hours it was as simple as using IE browser (even though Netgear instructions say open with any browser).

It started giving us trouble so I replaced it and my router with this puppy. It sends wifi out much further than our old router. Setup was super simple and fast. I'd already been using the Genie app with our old router and we love that app as well. The only thing I would change are the directions in the manual. I did not realize I had to call my cable company to get them to help me set it up. It might have just been me, but I did not find the directions clear on this point.

I finally bought this to replace my old modem. Overwhelming speed difference. Not that it was slow before, but easily recognized improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GreatWorks great for our family of two. We have 2 laptops, 1 iPad, 1 Xbox, WiFi capable tv, 2 iPhones....and when friends and family come over, we don't have too much of an issue. Every once in awhile there are issues but this is the perfect router for our family. :-)

Additionally the device would have been just as easy to set up without instructions. It works like a charm and now I don't have to pay equipment rental fees anymore!

We currently pay for 150mbps from Xfinity so it was great to actually be maximizing our internet. The range is also now able to spread to our entire 2-bedroom apartment.
