In use, it is faster than the leased equipment (by 3-5Mb). Wireless is solid throughout all rooms of a 3000sq house. Be sure to download the management app for additional management tools that really make this easy to optimize for your situation.

One caveat: make sure it is registered with Xfinity before you start making adjustments to the settings. I wound up needing to do a factory reset before I could establish my initial internet connection. If you are running even a small LAN and use Netflix or sporting package, make sure you change your LAN TCP/IP from the factory 192.176.0.1 to 10.0.0.1. It will save you a lot of headaches. The through put speeds meet ratings and it has run flawlessly since I installed it about a week ago.

The added bonus to this is the improved performance of the Nighthawk. With more data channels for faster downloads, increased Wi-Fi coverage across my entire property, and an easy to use router management app, our internet and streaming life got a whole lot better. So far, this unit has been reliable with no hiccups (going on 2 months).

It is way better then the default one that Comcast provides. The range is really good for a big house. It is pretty easy to set up to get you up and running. If you do get this for your Comcast service make sure that you call them so that they can activate it for you because it will not work out of the box (not plug and play).

It was using tcp/ipv6 which was generating Denial of service. This resulted in the loss off wifi connection. As soon as it was disabled all worked and has been for a week with no issues at all

I would highly recommend this product. It will take approx 2 years to balance the cost we would pay for renting the modem from Xfinity/Comcast.

I found out about the combo "gateway" modem/router units and spent the money on this unit. I love it and it works so much faster with our local service. I would buy it again in a heartbeat and it works with telephone/voice services, so perfect for our needs.

I found very few modems that handled all three.unable to find battery for backup but I have modem plugged into a UPS so I have achieved desired battery backup. It seems to be a nice modem.

I have the best tv pic and fastest internet ive ever had including the ones @ work. the setup was easy and I still haven't done all that it will do. But I will.

Online reviews led me to believe the installation could be very problematic, but my experience was totally opposite. I read the instructions for my model, Nightgear AC 1900, and the installation was fast and easy. All devices on my network connect quickly and operate flawlessly. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and so glad I upgraded.

Ever since I switched to the Netgear nighthawk my Internet speed has been boosted by nearly 4 times. I can reach the Wi-Fi system from the other side of the house and that was typically the problem that we've had. Especially when we are majority a family of gamers, Internet connection and signal was a priority. The Netgear nighthawk has really been proven to enhance your Wi-Fi signal throughout the entire house. I would buy it again if a new model were to come out.

Did need to call customer service (on 12-31-17 and found the agent to be knowledgeable and got us working in less than 10 minutes. Would recommend this product as the number of wifi uses does not affect speed. No more buffering. YAY!

The two units appear identical, except for the Xfinity label...and that the Netgear unit has twice the speed of the Xfinity unit. I think their Comcast 'throttles' their modems. I should have replaced it sooner, especially since I more than paid for the Comcast modem in monthly lease fees.

Setup was easy, tho Xfinity support was needed to make changes on their side. I recommend this modem/router to anyone moving to DOCSIS 3.0 on Xfinity/Comcast.

(Previously, we only got 1/2 of the advertised speed.) So far, very pleased with the device plus since it was a gift, I immediately get the $10 per month savings since I am not renting a device from my ISP.
