Rated 5 out of 5 by from With the Switch feature, I don’t have to trace a wire run to locate a switch port. Valuable Features:* Cable wire test: Shows me open wires in the Ethernet run.* Switch: My favorite feature. Shows me switch IP and switch port. I don’t have to trace a wire run to locate a switch port.* Auto test: It’s great to know if a problem exists due to DHCP or DNS issues.* PoE test: My second favorite. PoE failures were a headache, but not anymore.Improvements to My Organization:Troubleshooting doesn’t take as long. I can quickly locate a switch port and change a configuration within minutes. This device has decreased how much time we spend on a trouble ticket pertaining to network drops or connections.Room for Improvement:I would like the ability to save screenshots for the switch and cable test. This will help with referencing the information as we move around the building troubleshooting.Right now, the process is:* Connect an Ethernet cable and select switch.* The screen shows information about the switch, VLAN, etc.* Unplug the Ethernet cable and all the info is gone.It would be nice to capture a screen shot for reference later. I don’t need a bunch but at least five; let’s say the previous five are automatically saved.Same scenario with the cable test. You test a cable with the wire map connectors but you are unable to save the screen.Right now, I have to take a pic with my phone for reference at a later time.Use of Solution:I have used it for just over a year.Stability Issues:I have not encountered any stability issues; works like a champ.Scalability Issues:I have not encountered any scalability issues.Technical Support:Technical support is expert.Previous Solutions:We previously had a Fluke tester, but it didn’t give switch and port information.Initial Setup:Initial setup was easy cheesy.Cost and Licensing Advice:I presented the cost to our manager, who didn’t hesitate, because it would reduce our troubleshooting time.Other Solutions Considered:Before choosing this product, I did not evaluate other options.Other Advice:You want more information and reduce time troubleshooting? This device is an all-in-one solution for troubleshooting network connectivity issues.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product saves time Purchased this product to replace a much older version that lost it's display. This version is about 10X faster to get the info on switch port location and VLAN tagging. The color screen is the perfect size, and although the batteries are proprietary, seems to hold a decent charge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fluke LinkRunner AT 2000 Network Auto-Tester I work at a university doing all of the networking connections. About a month ago we "upgraded" to 3 of these units. When they work they are neat because they tell you exactly what switch and port you are in on a cisco switch. A month into owning the devices, 2 of the 3 stopped pulling ip addresses. All of the other functions work, like the length of the wire etc. It even shows data is being recieved from a switch but pulls no ip. We attached a packet sniffer to it and the problem was that it was never sending out a dhcp request even though it said it was. We contacted fluke and tried a bunch of trouble shooting with no luck. They said they never heard of it before and the devices we had were the first run. They also will not fix it but want to charge us more money for a replacement. Terrible customer service and product! Wait until they make a second revision that they will actually stand behind.
