Optoma GT1080HDR - DLP projector - short-throw - 3D is rated 2.80 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from First projector and so far so good My first projector and so far its been good. The picture quality is good and bright. The blacks are surprisingly good even on a white screen but even better on a grey screen. I wish both hdmi ports could do 4K 60hz but its not really a problem. The only complaint I have is that the menu can be a bit laggy at times and the manual could do a better job explaining some stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Upgrade of the GT1080 Started with the GT720 and have been upgrading and sticking with the same line of projector. Has some issues at first and found that I needed new HDMI cables. Since swapping out, all has worked perfectly. Have been using daily for months now. Still no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’m going to have to warranty my 2nd gt1080hdr. My first gt1080hdr had a bad EDID and kept attempting to reset resolution. It took a month for Optoma to replace that projector. Now, the 2nd gt1089hdr has a color wheel that sounds like its going to fly apart... in two months of use. I’m going to insist on an advance replacement for the 3rd. I do not recommend this projector.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent picture, horrible to mount I find the picture at 1080p to be fantastic, haven't tried 4k to see what happens yet. Purchased as an upgrade over my cheap FHD projector that was in my theater. I'm an AV pro and very attracted to the features and capabilities of this model. Here's the rub, I'm on day 3 of trying to mount this to the ceiling in my own theater. The instructions provide distance to screen ratios for tabletop display only. When the picture is inverted I found the distances to be significantly different. For instance 100in says 3.61ft (or 43.33in but I determined the actual distance inverted to be 64in. This is not annotated anywhere in the sizing table! The offset annotated in the manual is not from the center of projector mount to the center of the lense, which is a critical measurement for lining it up to the screen properly. I also purchased the Optma recommended mount, which is made for 4 post projectors and this is 3. it came with no instructions and was not straight forward. I did figure out a configuration but it was not easily adjustable, so it got sent back. For the cost of this projector, my expectations were way higher. Very frustrated and disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PS5 won't output 120hz on this "gaming projector" I selected enhanced game mode on the projector. But the PS5 video output settings only show 60hz as the maximum refresh. Even though this gaming projector supposedly can do 120hz. I tried different options, such as turning off HDR, turning on preference mode in default game settings. I also tried limiting the output signal to 1080p (but that dropped the HDCP signal down from 2.3 to 1.4). :). I used the supplied PS5 HDMI cable (supports HDMI 2.1 & less) and the enhanced HDMI port on the projector (supports HDCP 2.2). PS5 firmware is up to date Summary: even in enhanced gaming mode on the projector, 60hz is the highest speed I can get on the projector, using a PS5. Even though multiple PS5 games support 1080p 120hz (e.g. Borderlands 3 & Devil May Cry: Special Edition). P.S. Disappointing for a gaming projector. My TV can do 60hz. FYI, this projector is also noisy.
