I looked at some cheaper “kids” cases but after scouring reviews, I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for in terms of protection. I have always used OtterBox cases for my phones & knew the iPad case would be high quality. It has not disappointed! Haven’t dropped it (yet) but it’s handled well traveling. I like the stand—it’s easy to use.

But on November 2021, it exceeded my expectations when it saved my iPad from being destroyed in a major house fire. When I was finally able to retrieve my iPad, the device was in PERFECT CONDITION!!! In fact, I am writing this review on that very iPad. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Otterbox Defender Series for ALL my electronic devices.

I also with other colors were available as well...Like an orange or yellow for some added pop! Quality gets all the credit...install and lack of color needs improvement ASAP.

These cases are rugged and durable. My most recent purchase was for my Generation 6 IPad. Besides being it’s “protector”, this cover has other features to make using my IPad easier to use. I like products that perform as they are advertised and do it well. That is what Otter Box products do.

I’m a firm believer in these cases for their durability of the outside case wrapped in a silicone sleeve and added protection from the built in screen protector. Everyone of my apple products has an OtterBox case on them, I wouldn’t recommend anything else.

My only complaint about the case is that there are four clips that the iPad snaps in to. If you're not careful, the clip(s) will break off when you are trying to remove the iPad for use. We've had to replace a case already for this issue.

No worries about it falling on the gym floor. At home or at the coffee shop, i have four choices of viewing. Portrait/Landscape and High/Low angle. With the cover on (front or back, it’s a little bulkier than some others I’ve used, but worth it for the protection and flexibility.

With the defender, I feel confident that my iPad will be safe even if I drop it. It gives me peace of mind. My only criticism is that the cover is a little hard to remove, but I'm happy to put up with that to keep the iPad safe.

My first one I purchased was 8 years ago and is still holding up well. I bought a new one for my new iPad and the features are great. It's rugged and the stand built into the cover works great. The cover is a great feature also because I just throw my iPad into to my truck and go to work and I never have to worry about the iPad being damaged. I am a contractor and use my iPad daily both in the office and in the field. It would be awesome if there was a keyboard feature/add on that otter box offered for the iPad! I would be their first customer! However, the fact that there is no keyboard with this case does not affect my 5 star review for this product. I was 100% aware that this product did not come with a keyboard when I purchased it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have had Otters in my house for years I’ve had an Otter case for my iPhone 4S ever since I purchased it in 2011. It has saved me through many falls and bumps and I wouldn’t use anything else to protect my phone. So when I received an iPad Gen 6 for Christmas I didn’t hesitate to purchase an Otter Defender. It was very easy to assemble and my iPad fits more snug than a melted marshmallow sandwiched between a chocolate bar and two graham crackers in a s’more! I use my iPad a lot while sitting in my recliner and the rubber-like material of the Defender case keeps my iPad from sliding around while I’m typing. It’s also great for keeping in place when my dogs decide to join me on my chair. Already the case has saved my iPad from certain death when it has been pushed off my lap and onto the floor. While the Defender might seem a little bulkier than some of the other flip cover/folio style covers, I won’t have a panic attack wondering if my iPad is doomed because it took a tumble while the cover was opened. Although I’m sure neither the s’more nor the Otter Defender have a lot of nutritional value, I know the Defender will provide me longer lasting safety and peace-of-mind for my iPad than a s’more.

The otter box is rugged, the “stand” cover provides upright and keyboard positions, and provides excellent protection for the screen. Love it!

I bought a different case for protection, but I didn’t like the screen protector, I didn’t like how the screen protector seemed to be the only line of defense for the front of the iPad and was held together by clips on said screen protector. Now, with the otter box defender, it feels like my iPad is a tank.

Knowing how well protected my iPad 2 was protected in an otter box case, I purchased another one for my new iPad 9.7. It’s much thinner than the iPad 2 version. And with the case being so easy to open, I fear that my son will have the case off within a week. And then he will have a cracked screen or worse, a dead iPad

If you are using your iPad in a rough environment, high risk of dropping it, out in the weather -- then it's for you. Using mine mostly at home, it was way too much cover for me. It goes literally everywhere with me, and I don’t have a very sedentary lifestyle. This is my third Otter box Defender purchase, I tend to put the cover through its paces, and it holds up every time. I went through several iPhone cases from other manufacturers before I bought the otter case; 2 years later, it is still looking good and protecting my phone from the elements (and drops too!). Now I have them on my wife’s phone, my grandsons phone and most recently my iPad. love love love the iPad defender case... great protection and a pop out stand, perfect for table top or a late night movie in bed. The new Otterbox Defender case finally was in stock so I bought it before they ran out again. It fits perfectly and gives me the confidence to take my iPad almost anywhere. It’s extremely difficult to find a mini jack to 1/4 inch adapter or lead, to go out to my power amp. I am a music teacher and am mainly using an iPad in a teaching setting. Generally a mini jack to 1/4 adapter is to big to go in between the cut out in the otter box. That’s the only disappointing thing about the otter box.

My only problem with it is that there are way too many air bubbles trapped between my iPad and the screen protector especially around the home button. I've tried putting it back on several times, but I keep getting the same results. It's not bad, but it's not the best. I also had some issues with customer service when I went to return the original case that I had bought. If I based my review on customer service alone, it would be down to 2 stars if that.

When I purchased a new iPad, an Otterbox defender case was an absolute must have. In fact, I didn’t even use my iPad until I received my case and installed the iPad. A must have for anybody that is klutzy.

One thing I didn’t hear was if the reviewer was a previous owner of otter box products. I am an avid tree box user. All of our phones have an otter box case. We’ve tried others and they just don’t do the job that otter box does. I say that because after getting my new iPad defender case It was clearly obvious that some of the bad reviews may have been from folks who have not owned an otter box product before. Based on my past experience with the phone versions of otter box products my car went together exactly as I expected it to. The only thing I did different is I took the plastic screen film out (I used some citrus essential oil to remove the sticky adhesive left over and I put a clear glass protector on my screen. Love it and would buy it again!

My son’s iPads have also had Otterbox protection. I had a case break on vacation, and it was still under warranty. They sent me a replacement tue next week. This iPad Pro case is great. I was worried because I got the Apple Pencil 2, which attaches to the side for wireless charging. The case has a hinged port that can open up and allow pencil access. It has a nice feel, and offers me the protection I need.

Both wanted Ipad upgrades this Christmas, so my 1st choice was the Defender. I highly recommend, especially if young children are regular users. I will say, installation was easy. Happy with my purchase.

It significantly changes the appearance of the iPad but the trade off is that she will be able to pack it in her travel bag or let the grandkids play without worry. We have several Otterbox products already and have never experienced any damage to our iPads and iPhones, even though my son once dropped an iPad all the way down our stairs (and I think it bounced off every one.

After the Screen Protector had cracked, I thought it was the screen for my iPad. Upon a bit of investigation work, I realized it was only the screen protector. After that incident, I decided that it would be better to replace my previous case, screen protector with the brand that is synonymous with protecting mobile devices - OtterBox.

Literally took the iPad out of its packaging and immediately placed it into our new OtterBox case and only then began using the iPad. Our new OtterBox case is simply just a really good product. A must have in my opinion.

I waited for at least 10% off (as shipping to Canada and the $ exchange makes them quite pricey). It arrived within a couple of days - so fast! My only complaint would be that I wish it came in colours other than Black. Please give Generation 6 owners more options :)

While we have used these products we have never had a screen break or any damage to our devices. I k ow there are knockoffs out there and other competing products that are much cheaper but I feel a sense of loyalty to this company by providing quality products.

I drop my phone often and my kids drop the iPads often but I’ve never had damage as long as the case is on. High quality and worth the money spent. I don’t trust any other brand.

I put a screen protector on my device first because the cover won’t protect it from cracks just dirty hands and scratches. Very durable and the stand is a perk! I only wish it came in more colors than black. 10/10

I did my homework on the most expensive case this company had & ordered it. The case is a bit bulky and the design was not thought out too well. The two possible screen angles it has are not helpful enough for teaching musical instruments online. Also, I might mention that I am being plagued with emails to rate this item even after I unsubscribed awhile ago. I do not enjoy emails not being pursued by market research people. Thank you.

This is well worth the money spent! I have cleaned the actual inside of the case once in the four years I’ve own it. The hard case stand broke about a year ago (toddler casualty), but other than that the case has held up very well.

Didn’t have much of an issue with the previous case I had for the same IPad. Regardless, it’s not that big of a problem and I will purchase another Defender when needed.

Unfortunately, with the last three cases I have noticed that the quality of the screen protection has severely diminished. It is Very easily scratched or marked and I often find dust, dirt, or other foreign items between the iPad screen and the Otterbox screen. Unfortunately I would no longer recommend.

It was the correct style for my iPad but I found the vinyl gasket that fits around all sides not tight. Gapping in places. Therefore the outer cover would not fit snugly. I have had Otterbox cases for my phones and never had an issue. I was expecting the same.

These cases are rugged and durable. My most recent purchase was for my Generation 6 IPad. Besides being it’s “protector”, this cover has other features to make using my IPad easier to use. I like products that perform as they are advertised and do it well. That is what Otter Box products do.
