When I found out that Otter made a magnetic charger I thought surely it would work. It does not. It charges but you have to take it away from the protection that Otter is famous. DON’T PURCHASE for charging with an Otter Defender!!!

Definitely buying a second one for home. It even works with a thick OtterBox defender series case on it. I have a Samsung Galaxy S 20 Note Ultra.

When the OtterSpot was able to establish charging, it worked great and I wish my phone would charge without issue every time but it sucks to wake up in the morning and your phone hasn't charged after a night on the charger. There are many reviews for the 12 that are saying wireless charging is spotty at best on non-apple chargers. I found that to be true and have decided to return the spot. I think I'm more unhappy with the 12 than the spot. Spot definitely does not work with the 12 and OtterPop case. It might with other phones and OtterPop, it does not with the 12. So, I liked the Spot when it worked and wish Apple could figure this issue out along with the laundry list of other issues the 12 has. If you don't have a 12, go for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Just Works First of all, we upgraded our two phones to the iPhone 12 Pro Max in mid December. I purchased Otter Box Defender Pro cases for each phone and they went on the day the phones were delivered. When ordering the iPhones I included their MagSafe chargers to finally bypass having to plug up the phones for charging. After about two weeks of relatively little to no success in getting the MagSafe chargers to connect through the phone cases I returned them to Apple for a refund as they were mostly useless. I then started researching wireless Qi charger options and settled on the OtterSpot system and placed my order. The order arrived quickly considering the holidays and current conditions. After almost three weeks of use, I will say the OtterSpot wireless chargers are a pleasure to use, they connect with the phones easily without having to search for that frustrating "exact & elusive" placement spot of the Apple units. We just lay the phone on the OtterSpot and promptly get the charging indication sound and visual indication. The OtterSpot simply works as it should.

If I need to leave to another room or move seats I can just take it with me and it still charges my phone it’s awesome. The only thing is they do slow charge but it still keeps your phone alive until you can get to an actual wall outlet so you don’t have to worry about it dying.

You have to push a button on the disc and align your phone perfectly on them and will sometimes just stop charging your phone and you come back an hour later to a dead phone. I really like Otterbox and wanted this to be a sure thing but unfortunately just not reliable.

Because of the case this Otter Box charger was recommended. This was a great purchase it charges my phone through the thicker case and I can grab a battery off the charger and bring it with me around the house.

If you are ok with taking your phone from your case every time you charge it, then buy it. Plugging a cord in isn’t that difficult.

It takes up a very small footprint and makes it very easy to top off the charge on my phone. No more fishing for the cable and taking the time to plug in my phone. It is as simple as setting my phone down and the charge begins. We are a CPA firm and currently we are using the OtterSpot wireless battery in our conference room as a client convenience. In a short period of time we have received great client feedback. So we have decided to add a base station to the conference room so that it is always ready to go. And coupled with the Wireless Battery, more than 1 can charge while we meet. Excellent product - works well - highly recommend if you are looking to add a little more convenience to your life

There has been many times that I have placed my iPhone 12 on the platform only to find out that it had not charged in the morning. The iPhone 12 has to be placed just right on the charging surface in order for it to charge. This was a waste of money. I would not recommend this product.

The exposed pins give me caution as well as from experience, do not touch those when the power is on, won't shock you they just get hot. The status lights needs to time out at some point. The consistent bright light make the one charging by my nightstand a spotlight in the wall. Consider a lower profile design may e a safer way to pass electricity between the pads, those pins should not be so prominent. The puck feels like sheep plastic and lack a premium feel. Finally the power button is in an uncomfortable position like try doing it with one hand you can't. Hope round 2 finds a way to have a soft touch feel or atleast magnetic like apple chargers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extra battery quit after less than one week I purchased the OtterSpot Wireless Charging System with base and extra battery because I loved the idea of being able to take the battery anywhere to charge my phone on the go. Right away there were issues. The first night that I used it, the battery charged but my phone did not. I took the battery to work and charged my phone there, which did the job. For the next approximately 5 days there were issues with the battery not charging, or the phone not charging when on top of the base and battery until the battery completely quit turning on or charging from the base OR the cord less than one week after receiving my purchase. I contacted OtterBox right away and received an email response requesting my full mailing address, phone number, ANOTHER description of the problem (which was already in my original complaint and two separate time and dates at least 2-3 business days in the future when I could be reached by phone to discuss the issue further. That email was sent AND replied to on May 26, 2020 and I have yet to receive the follow up phone call. DO NOT purchase this item. I wanted to love it, but it is NOT worth it!!!

However the outer spot charges through my defender case with no problem whatsoever. I’ll take the separate charging base to work with me. I am a fire fighter I can use it anywhere I need it and it’s always gives me a charge on my phone. Would highly recommend.

The charging pad works fine still, but I got this for emergency situations, like when the power goes out. The batteries seem to always be sold out, so there’s no way to replace it. Now this is kind of useless. Disappointed in Otterbox, from the reviews it looks like this isn’t an uncommon problem. I expected more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mixed Feelings I have 2 phones; an iPhone as use as a personal phone and a Samsung galaxy I use as my business phone. I’m a huge fan of Otterbox cases. I have and will continue to exclusively use them for all of my devices. I use the Defender Pro cases, but was having an issue charging my iPhone wirelessly when the case was on. I contacted Otterbox about this issue and they explained that it had to do with the thickness of the case and how some chargers can handle it and others can’t. This is when I first learned that Otterbox offers their own wireless charging station, which they assured me works with all of their cases. Unfortunately, my experience is that this isn’t exactly accurate. I have the charging station as well as one extra battery. I love the concept and it works wonderfully with my Samsung. However; it still doesn’t work as intended with my iPhone. The extra battery rarely charges my iPhone at all (it usually doesn’t even realize anything is there so I have to use the base charger, which is normally not a big deal. However, even the base charger is spotty. I have to get my phone set down just perfectly and, even so, there are mornings when I wake up to find that my phone didn’t charge at all. I know the problem isn’t with my phone itself, because removing the case allows it to charge perfectly. My main point for leaving this review is that I’m hoping Otterbox will see it and use the feedback to improve the product. It’s still my favorite wireless charging station out there and I would hands down recommend it if you have a smaller case. However, I would think twice about purchasing this product if you use an Otterbox Defender Pro with an IPhone 12 ProMax.

Product only received 4 stars as it takes multiple positionings to find the charge sweet spot with the defender case. Non-related item of note; the magsafe halo lock does not work with defender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting design, but..... I bought the plug-in charger pad, and an additional wireless charging pad. Interesting idea, plus piggy-backing more wireless pads in a stack. But my problem is, as with ALL wireless chargers and past phones I had, is the Otterbox Defender case interferes with wireless charging, of any kind. To charge my Note 20 Ultra, if I do it wirelessly, through the Defender case, it can take up 3hrs 45min to "fast charge". As soon as I plug the same charger into the phone, it charges in 1hr 15min. Same thing happened with my Note 4, and Note 8. And you can't keep taking this case off the phone every day because the case will wear out, so if you want to charge a Note 20 Ultra, you have to plug it in....

I was excited to have a wireless charger again. I charged it up until all the lights were lit. I had to fiddle around to find the right position. The instruction paper that came with it indicated there should have been another battery to put on top of this one but there wasn’t . I have the iPhone SE 2nd generation and it took forever to charge. 2 hours later it was at 86%( w/ wall charger it would have been done Also the charger was down to 3 dots when it finally finished charging by the time I woke up this morning it was 1 dot. None of my previous chargers had ever discharged so quickly.

Stunning incompetence. Is anybody actually running this company?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works but not as expected The charger works but it take a min to find the right place to put the device, when that happens the device does not get charge fully. also the battery does not seem to fully charge the phone, it keep it alive but it does not fully charge it. one of the only things that work great is that the Otterbox case are not an issue.

The other battery charges to full charge but one of them nothing. When it went, it went all at once, not gradually as I expected a battery to go, which leads me to believe that it is a fault in the battery, not just worn out. Very disappointed.

The Otterbox Defender combines excellent protection for my Samsung S20 with the convenience of a holster that clips to my belt. The hard rubber case provides a high-friction surface that guards against accidental dropping, a constant issue with the glass phone case. With it, I can keep my S20 safe and within easy reach all day. Where it falls down is in design, with its all-black, somewhat clunky look. I have added a red skin to the back of the cover, but it would be nice to have other colors to choose from. Also, the cas3e does not provide access to the microSD slot in the S20, forcing me to take the cover off when I want to change the SD card.

I like both they charge very well even when I take the top base off and move to another room took me a while to figure out how to activate it. After I push that button it charged so well and stayed charged for a good while. Now I just need to find another cable, but I give this product 5 stars.

They work fine while stacked on base, but once removed the magnet will not charge unless it’s placed in an exact spot. I have an otter box case on the phone, one that is listed as mag charger friendly. So must the time w I need to use the cord, which did t come with the charger and cost close to 30.00 more to purchase. The charger does not use standard a size USB..So it works, it’s very finicky, and you need to buy expensive cables if it will not charge through your “charge friendly” otter case...so,so...

It won't charge the phone unless it is plugged in. It does charge the phone (And I assume the extra disk fast and without removing the box. It won't however charge it there is a magnetic plate added to the cover. 36W charger block is a plus. I'd probably buy it again but not the second disk. "Yes" below is with these resvervations

I found out the hard way....but on a good note everyone else in the household use the wireless charger from otter box except the person that purchased it.....lol.

Is there a battery that should have come with it? For that amount of money, I think there should have been a battery with it. A bit disappointed.

She thought it was the total package but didn't have the charging pad. We had 2 pods and no pad. Fast forward a bit and I finally got the charging pad. Charged both pods up and used them a couple of times. They don't charge super fast but I'm fairly sure that not their function. Good for keeping a charge or boosting your charge back up when you don't have your cord. Problem is after maybe 2 - 3 uses one pod has stopped doing anything. Lights don't come on. It doesn't charge back up. Its like a paperweight now. No damage occurred. Everything was going well.

BUT: Difficult to place phone (with Defender Pro case on charger or battery so it charges, AND the placement is so sensitive that floor vibrations can move the phone off ideal charging spot. Charging light hard to see so you cannot easily discern if you are successfully charging, until you come back an hour later and find your phone is at a lower battery capacity. System needs work so phone can easily placed in “ideal” charge position.

Moreover, it does not have a tilting option whereas I can watch a show while it charges. It does charge through protective cases and extra batteries. It is an average product. Initially the product worked exactly as advertised and I was impressed - portability, easy to use, and appeared to work right out of the box. February 28th, the product stopped working completely. It's pretty simple - it no longer charges my phone. I've unplugged the device and plugged it back in, and it still doesn't work at all. I'll be requesting a fully refund of my purchase price.

My family has 2 Apple phones and 2 Samsung phones that have OtterBox Defender cases and that can be charged by this wireless system. The only downside I see is that there isn't enough juice in 1 wireless pad to fully charge my S21Ultra from 5%. It charged it to about 73% and then I had to place it on the OtterBox base wireless charger to complete the charge. It is nice to have the remote pad that you can take anywhere and charge wirelessly.

It's good to have a mobile charger and it works great with my case however, it could be better. Let's start with the Pro's 1. The product is made a very good quality. 2. It has a built-in USB c port for charging. 3. It has a battery percentage light. 4. It works well with my punk case. 5. It is very handy if you have guests come over to the house. And now for the cons. 1. For LED lights stays on while charging all the time. 2. Small battery. 3. I connect my earbuds to the USB-C charging port and it only charged for a couple of minutes before it stops. 4. You have to remember to push the button before you put your phone on the charger for it to charge. 5. And last but not least very very expensive. But other than that I'm still working with it and if I have anything else I'll let you know.

I have to move phone around until I get the indicator that it’s charging. My mom has a new Apple phone and I have a heck of a time getting it to charge. I have finally given up and charge her’s by cable. The remote battery works ok. It won’t fully charge my phone when battery is low. All in all I like the charger because I don’t have to get my cable out all the time and is convenient.

As soon as I opened the wireless charging station in additional battery I conceded they were of the same quality as the Otterbox is I've come to trust. I only wish there was a car mount version that I knew would work great with their cases. Sometimes I have to get the positioning just right and make sure that it is turned on when unplugged, otherwise it will not work as intended. The concept however is great. I would definitely recommend this purchase if you own a QI chargeable phone.

You can charge a phone on the portable power puck while it charges. 3. The portable power puck is good for about one full phone charge. 4. It doesn't charge an Apple Watch. 5. Not leaving the portable power puck on the charger all the time might help extend battery life. 6. The LEDs on the portable power puck are really bright. 7. The wall plug is bulky. In the month I've had it, the product has been reliable for daily use and travel, and solved several problems.

Light slowly blinks which means it is charging. 1 minute later, light blinks rapidly. Now repeat the above about 5 or 6 times to get your phone charged. It takes too long to charge because you have to keep moving the phone around on the charging pad. Whoever designed this charger should be made to hold one between their knees for eight hours!!

I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra and it will only charge my phone 30-35% before it dies. I was expecting closer to a 75% to full charge for one use. It's still a good option in an emergency but I will stick to my regular phone cord at work now.

One is the coil whine - it makes a high frequency buzz when ever connected to the outlet, two is that the puck needs to be perfectly aligned with the phone to actually charge. I often find my phone not charging and and pluck off even though it was charging when I left it.

Now a few weeks later it has power, but will not charge my phone no matter how I place it on the charger with or without a case, and independently none of the batteries will charge my phone. So I had to resort to a cable I had purchase one for 25-30 dollars from otter box to fit the batteries and it’s promptly shorted out after 4 uses. So,I have 125.00 piece of garbage paper weight!

The brick that plugs into the wall or surge protector strip in my case is pretty bulky though which is a minor drawback. I definitely like the feature of being able to stack the pucks to charge them and charge a phone at the same time or plug a cord in the base to charge one device while charging another one laying on top at the same time.

Unlike some wireless chargers, this unit charges my iPhone SE 2020 right through my Otterbox Pro case. Charges my earbuds too! The wireless battery has a connection for charging non-wireless items too. I absolutely love this charging unit. If I’m out for the day I pop the wireless battery in my purse or backpack in case my phone battery runs low. It’s amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not up to Otterbox standards I finally got so tired of this product “overheating” and malfunctioning that I recycled it. I have been an Otterbox customer for years and this is easily the worst product that has been developed by them. I would suggest avoiding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nope. Lame. Doesn't work consistently. Like a lot of other reviews, you have to find the exact right spot, and then it often just stops charging. Not impressed. Then I tried to do the online return from my order history and it kept telling me that my request could not be processed at this time. Not a great experience with this product. Expect better from an established company like this, but maybe they should stick to cases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE my OtterSpot! I have been using this Charging Pad&Puck combo daily,for almost a year and couldn’t be more delighted! ?? I purchased soon after receiving a new IPhone SE w/Otterbox Defender Case from my kids. Although customers have complained about “not charging “ scenarios,I have not experienced ANY PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER! Just”hover” the phone/case over the puck for a few seconds,and the phone chimes&lights up to let you know that charging has commenced. Easy…even for a 66 year old Luddite!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OK but not what I expected This is not a fast charger. The standalone puck does not hold a charge long and will not fully charge a phone. The wired puck emits a really high pitch sound. It is ok for an overnight charger but is not what I expected from OtterBox.

I read some of the 1-star reviews and those are the same people and write a 1-star Yelp reviews about their upside down pumpkin latte with with almond milk. You do need to make sure the phone picks up charge, not a big deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad fit for iPhone 14 ProMax I have a 14ProMax. Puck is ok for emergency charge on the go but will not fully charge my phone when completely dead. The main and puck chargers are not mag safe and have to finesse them to a perfect angle to receive a charge because of the phones camera lenses housing. . Not worth the money if you are expecting ease of use or want a full charge from the puck. OtrerBox please ?? make a MagSafe compatible puck.

THE STREAMS ALONE DISK CHARGES MY PHONES, BOTH TO FULL CHARGE, BEFORE NEEDING TO BE RECHARGED, ITSELF.

It's easy to find the center to charge my Samsung Galaxy phone, that has an Otterbox Defender Case, and also my Galaxy buds. I took off 2 stars because I was a bit disappointed in the charger "puck". Even at full charge, it only charged my phone from 20% to 73%. I was hoping it would at least charge it to 85%. Plus, it's a bit heavy, but I had expected it before I got it. It's nice that I can charge both the charger & my phone at the same time.
