Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great system when you figure it out!I bought this system two years ago when I started work from home job. I frustrated myself a lot in the beginning because I was using a regular phone with it. It really does work best with office system phones. So luckily during troubleshooting I got a $45 2 line phone and haven't had an issue since!! I hang it on my own makeshift stand. Mute sound and all works great no complaints! Also noise canceling is a god send when lawnmower or something is outside. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good at work, only ok at homeThis headset worked fine with our office phone system for the occasional extended conference calls. For work from home use I find in order to be compatible with our everyday residential phone I have to max out the transmit volume and settings which results in the sound of my own voice to be way too loud in the earpiece. Also listening to others, typically the earpiece volume will not go low enough so I end up wearing the headset only partially over my ear which brings up comfort issues. Overall I would rate the product as adequate to better than adequate. It may be perfect for those with hearing problems. I have a quiet office environment at home and work, and I tend to be soft spoken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Confusing installationFor some reason, the headset holder was the one thing that drove me crazy when trying to install it. Also after all that, it doesn't even hold the headset securely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not bad for $59I bought this at Fry's Electronics. The S12 was also available for $30 more but I saw no definite advantage. I got it to work fine with a cheap corded phone at home, and also my Siemens corporate office phone. The headset is not the most comfortable thing, but it's better than holding the handset to your ear for an hour-long conference call. The plug on the end of the headset wire is a small 4P4C connector the same as a standard telephone handset. Your handset also plugs into the unit and you can switch between them. You still answer a call by lifting the handset and then set it on your desk off the hook. I would have preferred the common 3.5 mm mini phone plugs so I could use my own more-comfortable PC-style headset. If you're good with a soldering iron then you might be able to rig-up an adapter cable to try this. The standard 4P4C pin diagram is on Wikipedia. After I plugged the headset into the unit, I could not unplug it again, even with the latching tab depressed all the way. The headset wire is thin and I didn't want to risk pulling it out of the connector. Amazon sells replacement S11 headsets for $20.The best sounding Configuration setting (#1 thru 6 was different for my home phone versus the office phone. You can slide the switch between different settings during a call to see which sounds the best. You will need the help of a friend by phone to do a "can you hear me now?" test when you connect it to a different phone. The microphone mute button is nice during conference calls. You don't need to remember any key combinations to mute/unmute, and other callers don't have to hear those annoying beeps when you mute/unmute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DependableMy first S11 lasted for nearly 5 years of extended daily use. Just bought a new one, and like the first set, it works like a charm. The headset rest is a joke but of no consequence to the use of the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product that is in for the long haulI dug one of these out of a supply closet two years ago, it was origionally used by an employee who retired years ago. This headset has been awsome. Some days I am on multiple teleconfrences for 2-3hours. This headset has great sound quality and adjustments for both the tx and rx. I love the easy in your face mute, its quick and makes muting 100% reliable. Im only now exploring replacing this with a wireless set because I am impressed with their noice cancelling headphones at home. If a wired headset suits your need this is a great option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plantronics S11I like my S11. It has excellent sound quality. I wish the cord for the headset was a few feet longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible soundThis headset is terrible. I have heard comments from callers that I sound like I am in a tin can or they say that the static on my end is very lound. I have adjusted all of the controls numerous times to try to find the right setting but it doesn't make a difference because the sound quality is horrible. I am returning this and will get another model. Piece of garbage!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth itI have this for my office and hate it. No one can hear me on calls. And that picture? Doesn't happen. The headset does NOT sit on the stand like that, and I can't get it to sit anyway and just leave it on my desk. Requesting a different brand/model from admin now.
