PowerChute is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) management software from Schneider Electric that offers:
1. Unattended, graceful shutdown of virtual machines (VMs) followed by the cluster and hosts, which helps prevent data corruption.
2. Pre-configured start-up sequence to ensure PowerChute powers on VMs to minimize downtime after critical events have passed.
3. Fully tested and validated with latest HCI and Virtualization platforms for ease of deployment and certainty in setups.

How does PowerChute work?
During a prolonged power outage, PowerChute performs graceful shutdown of User Virtual Machines (VMs). After, PowerChute performs HCI specific graceful shutdown of cluster services and hosts. Once power returns, PowerChute prepares hosts and re-starts cluster services. And finally, PowerChute carries out unattended startup of the User VMs.
