Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dynamite Device! i use several samsung phones/tablets for work and play. i work at parcel delivery management and use the tablet on the road. all of the samsung phones/tablets i've used are quite reliable and durable especially with a good case like otterbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice tablet i have had the galaxy tab 4 7.0 for a few years and i like samsung products and just wanted a new tablet so i went with the tab a 8.0 and it is a very nice tablet. it was very easy to set up and it has a lot of room. i like this tab so much that i gave my computer away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glitches After 1 Month i bought this tablet one month ago and absolutely loved it. fast, good battery life, sleek, light. but, after a month of use, it randomly started to glitch and wouldn't respond to my inputs. it's in perfect condition, i have a case for it, there are no scratches or dents. it just stopped working really. very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Tablet indeed it's the best samsung tablet i've ever had under $200. it's easy to use, the camera is great, the specs are really good, tablet isn't slow, and the battery life is unbelievably long. so practically i have no issues with it, at all, thank you samsung!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slow! i have owned several tab a 8 in and bought several for others. i bought this 2019 as an upgrade to 32 gigs. nothing is ever fast, i don't like the anything about it. doesn't update apps quickly. i'm still waiting for the same 5 to update and install since late night. i wish i had as good experience as with the other purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Size i have had a larger tablet and i always had to use two hands to hold it. this 8" samsung galaxy tab a is the perfect size and the screen is quite useful and not a bunch of wasted space. i tried using a 7" amazon fire tablet and it was super heavy and bulky. this samsung is super lightweight, yet sturdy with it's metal clad exterior. i added a protective cover and it's still easy to hold and use. one thing i would have added was a flash / light to the front or back camera for those times i need it i use my phone instead. but i'm sure they knew what they were doing because maybe others in their research didn't see the need for one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed i had my previous tab a sm-t380nzke and absolutely loved it, but unfortunately it was stolen and decided to upgrade. what a disappointment! it has a constant lag and glitch while playing games. what is even more disappointing is that i can't even load apps to my microsd card! it would be very helpful if they would state what exactly can be placed on the external memory card. if i'm not doing something right for this to happen i would like to know and would consider changing my 1star rating!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regrets! Wished id spent extra 150 for ipad. so angry for not spending the extra 150 and getting myself an ipad. 2017 model runs circles around this garbage. samsung you don’t belong in the budget realm of things whatsoever. micro usb still a useless micro sd card slot because you can’t save freaking apps to it. who the is going to take 512 gb worth of photos on a tablet with an eight megapixel non-flash camera. i think android anything is severely lacking in optimization for app storage as that in my opinion is one of the most important and appreciated features of my ios devices and since android can’t do what apple does i don’t give your users a choice on what’s more important to them movie storage or app storage since obviously android doesn’t give both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very slow People are expecting too much from a budget tablet that's only $150 msrp. I'm coming from a 3 year old Lenovo Tab 4 8.0 and this is better than that. They brought back the ambient light sensor for auto brightness, though it doesn't work that well. Comes with Android 9.0 out of the box. It has micro USB yes, but again, this is a budget tablet not a Galaxy Tab S. It plays all my games just fine and it plays Netflix and Plex. It also has 32gb internal storage plus micro sd slot which is more than others. Screen is nice, speakers are good, gets loud and have more bass than I thought they would. Has a headphone jack. Overall this is the budget tablet to get, blows away the Kindle fires because it has Play Store. I just wish they would have put a little faster processor, faster storage, and more memory in it because it is very slow. It takes hours to install or update a handful of apps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from why the low ratings?? yes its a bit slow people but its only 2 gb ram, for the price you cannot complain, does the job for me.. what do you expect for a 150 dollar tablet?? it work fine...great for playing games too seems speedy for that..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Disappointed I bought this with the expectation that it would be full featured. It is not. Even though it comes with Android 9, Samsung has crippled the capabilities of this tablet. First even though it is touted as being able to watch movies this model does not have the ability in settings to share screen/smart view capabilities that I have on my tab A 10" which is an older less expensive model than this one. Second Samsung has removed the ability to store/run applications from the sim card which has been available for the last several generations of Android. So you only have the ability to store applications on main memory once that is full you are done adding applications you can NOT offload some of the applications onto the SIM card. SIM card is only for pictures, music and video storage nothing more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice size tablet for reading since i had a galaxy note 9 (2018) phone i wanted something with a bigger screen to help with reading. i thought that this (2019) tablet, would be as snappy or would do things as fast as my phone, but it is laggy and not as fast at doing simple things like email and google hangouts. but it lets me read the things i need to and it is bigger than my phone so it serves that purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of junk. Bought this last December. It was ok. Then 3 months ago it started dropping WiFi. I tried support, WiFi reset.....everything. Eventually I switched to slower WFi, and it seems to work. I have 7 other devices and this one is the only one that does it. Cheap piece of junk. Should've bought other manufacturer, this is not the only Samsung product that I am having quality problems with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Except Can Not Put Apps on SDCard Got mine for Christmas, and 3 days later I had used 30 out of 32GB internal storage on apps. Bought a samsung 256GB sdcard ( great value at A ). Put in, format, and .. no way to move apps to sd card. The option ( apps, app, storage, move ) is not there. The newer android option to format sdcard as internal st6is also not there. So I'm returning the tablet. Shame, otherwise nice paperback book sized modern tablet with great battery life. No auto sleep wake function that I could find either. Has micro USB, not the newer usb. Again, shame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Tab is my best friend this tablet is my second galaxy tab. my first one was a gift, love it so much i had to have another when it went out . the tablet is durable, reliable and comfortable to tote around and hold. the huge selection of apps has helped me work from home and relax with a good book, movie or music. it has been my best friend and sanity saver during this miserable covid quarantine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tab A and/or Termux App Not Working Well Together Great tablet!! But I bought this Galaxy Tab A with 8'' screen a few nights ago, a main reason being so I can use the Termux app on it. But the Tab A and Termux are apparently not working well together. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the Tab A or the Termux app. When Termux is running on my Tab A, characters aren't appearing on the screen immediately after being pressed on the onscreen keyboard. But a sequence of characters appears after I press the spacebar. I looked online, and other people say they're having the same problem. When will this problem be fixed? Again, I don't know if it's a problem with the Tab A - maybe just its onscreen keyboard, or a problem with the Termux app, or both. But Termux seems to work fine on my larger Samsung Galaxy, and on my OnePlus 6t smart phone. I also left this same message, except edited as appropriate, in the comments section of an internet page for the Termux app. I hope Samsung and/or Termux can correct that problem pretty soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, nice size. Let down by memory option Update of my previous review.. Pro. Great value. Great to find a small tablet for reading books, watching movies. Con. Probably androids fault, but ... you can put a massive 256 or 512 GB sad card in, but only store media on it. You can not A. Format it as internal memory, like other brand android devices with modern android, and B can not move apps to the se card, like you could with previous Samsung and android devices. Apps, esp children’s apps, children’s book apps and games are huge, and you can run out of space soon. V. Disappointing. Minor cons. No auto sleep wake when you close and open a case. No modern usb socket, used micro usb. Could use a slightly higher res screen. I was going to return mine because I ran out of app space. I had a screen with my 8year olds apps, a screen with apps for a 4yo. And a screen for me. Used up all the memory. solution is that everyone e has to have less apps, get board with them, and change them for the next one. Keeping it now, living with the memory limit for the convenience of the size of the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not what I expected from samsung I bought this on sale at costco. Do not waste time or money. This thing was not what I was expecting especially from samsung. You get the same features from a cheap $30 tablet. It's slow, you can add and sd card which does no good because this tablet does not even have the basic feature of allowing you to move any apps to it. I am an avid samsung user and fan, but very disappointed in spending money on this tablet. I expected basic for the price, but this is below even that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not sure what I was expecting Purchased this tablet at Best Buy for $129. Needed something for school. I wasn't able to download the apps that I needed to use to study from, from my Windows Surface Go Tablet, so I figure this would help. I could have just used my phone, but wanted something a little bigger. The batter life is good. It is slow. I made the mistake of importing my apps from my Note 9 and that wasn't a good choice. I've since gone through and deleted a lot of apps, to hopefully make it a little faster. I do like that it is light in weight and thin. But I also get a little frustrated that it's a little slow. I've only had it for a week. I still haven't decided if I'm going to keep it. If nothing else, since I do have a Kindle, I could use it as a bigger e-reader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useless device i just bought this device for thr second time and have to return this one too. the first one was purchased from sam’s club and was missing the adapter but since we have a dozen of those lying around, it wasn’t a big deal. the main issue was that it was slow and sluggish. the touchscreen was very slow to respond making it very frustrating to use. assuming i got a lemon, i returned it and purchased a second one today from best buy. this one was missing the sim card rendering it completely useless!! does samsung just not have any quality control or are they selling refurbished devices in new packaging? i don’t get it. never again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not have basic features that other ones have. It doesn't support screen mirroring. It doesnt allow you to move apps to the SD card. It still uses micro USB not USB-C. This is the first Samsung product I have been disappointed with. It took 3 tech support people before one finally figured out this model doesnt have screen mirroring...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So slow and sluggish! I bought this tablet three months ago and I wanted to give it some time before reviewing. This tablet is ridiculously slow and sluggish. There is a lag between you tapping something and subsequent action on the screen. Unacceptable for a name brand like Samsung. It's cheap, for sure, but you get what you pay for. Basically, an expensive paper weight. Positives: battery life is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awful WiFi Connectivity. Don't waste your time or money on this tablet because you will regret it. The tablet is super slow and the inconsistent WiFi connection due to the cheap internal antenna will have you going crazy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I bought this tablet to test my android apps, and needed Android Pie with decent performance. This tablet delivered all that I expected and meets all of my business needs, including Chromecast screen mirroring for presentations, etc. Some people are complaining about performance and speed, however it exceeds my expectations, with the speed in my opinion around the latest iPad Mini. It loads apps fast, and can take whatever you throw at it. I love the aluminium build, and it feels extremely durable which is great for travel (which is a must for me). Overall, I would highly recommend this tablet for gaming or business. It is a great alternative for the iPad Mini, also with a cheaper price. In my opinion, it is currently the best Android tablet at the moment, especially for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed at the start i dislike this model, a 2019 sm-t290, even before the first bootup. the first thing we do is charge up the batteries and doing so i discovered that samsung's claim on its website that it is a usb c port is false. this was a major selling point for me because all my new devices are coming with a usb c that do not have a right-side up as the micro usb does. the port on the new 8" taba is a micro, while my 10.1 taba has a c. if this difference is a design "feature", ok, but say so in the specifications so buyers are aware before purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beginners tablet perfect tablet to start off on. i wasn't sure if i would use one or not, so i wanted to get a basic tablet to find out. i use it more than my phone when i'm at home now, and will be upgrading to something bigger. my one complaint is the old micro usb charge port. i haven't had any issues with this one yet, but have never had anything where it hasnt eventually stopped making a good connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unable to look at screen. this is a review of the galaxy tab a 2019. it is the fourth galaxy tablet i have owned. unfortunately, i can't use it, so i gave to my wife and have continued using my tab a 2017. the problem is the screen. it has too much glare and the type is difficult to read. there is no blue light filter that i can find to make it easier t read, especially at night. on my 2017 model, i have set the blue light filter to turn on automatically each evening. i can't find a way to do that on this 2019 version. i gave the tablet 4 stars because i'm assuming it will have better performance than my 2017 model.
