Rated 5 out of 5 by from DeX Is A Game-Changer I have spent the last 6 months looking for a quality alternative to the Microsoft/Apple computer empires. I don't WANT to transition to Windows 10, my wife has 4 computers with it and they drive her crazy. I also have a really good iPad, but the lack of a good file system and mouse support has limited its usefulness to me. I have used Android devices for years. They have been promising, but not quite there as far as being good productivity tools. When I read about the Tab S4, I have to say I was pretty skeptical. Several online reviews of the tablet, and especially DeX, were not very positive. They criticized it as being not-quite ready, crashing, and not playing well with various apps. They also said that Android apps themselves are designed for phones and don't work well on a large screen. They are wrong. I spent the afternoon using Microsoft Office and various other productivity apps in full-screen and windowed modes in DeX. No crashes, no problems, it has been rock-solid. The Galaxy Tab S4 has replaced my old PC.If you are so-inclined, you can even use the tablet to do other tasks WHILE you have DeX on running multiple applicatons on a monitor. That's pretty excessive, but you can do it. Several of the reviewers talked about how the S4 slows down when you run multiple versions of Youtube in separate windows. But, who does that, and WHY? From a straight-ahead productivity standpoint, this system has been great, on a tablet that fits in a back pack. Now, a few minor criticisms and points: 1. Everybody says Android tablets are a thing of the past. I sure hope not, because the S4 points the way to a terrific line of PC-capable tablets that could fill a niche for years. BUT, Google is not issuing new OS releases beyond Pie and instead wants everybody to buy a Chromebook. Perhaps Samsung could take Android over? 2. DeX is not invincible. I left DeX on when I turned the tablet off, and it bricked the next morning. I had to do a hard reset to get it back, and since then I always exit DeX before turning it off. 3. Some apps don't run well in DeX. I have an email app that I like that froze in DeX mode. Oh, well. 4. The speakers are good, but not great. I compared the tablet to the Huawei Mediapad M5, and the M5 had obviously better sound and volume. (However, the M5 does not output HDMI and is incapable of driving a monitor without using a mirrorning app over wi-fi, with resulting delays and drops. Conclusion: The Galaxy Tab S4 was designed for ME, the person who wants an Android to go toe-to-toe with Surface Pros, Macs, and iPads. It does it. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really .......wow and ok ok..... I haven't had a Samsung device in over 12 years I almost forgot how awesome there platform really is. I got lost in translation for some years now hypnotized by Apple I could go on about them but this is about Samsung. I purchased the galaxy s4 tab and I am lost for words. I love it. Gaming etc etc wow. I'm gonna upgrade my phone to Samsung galaxy too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ahh , Great Tablet The 10.5” screen is a great choice not to big not to small so it fits perfectly in a purse or backpack. The display on the tablet is very clear and crisp. One of my favorite features are the four Dolby speakers, so sound comes out both sides unlike other brands of tablets I have used . It charges really quick , which is great for my kids . We have been able to watch around five movies on it before the battery runs down . Another great feature is the S Pen is included, no need to purchase it separate. The expandable memory is an important option for the WiFi tablets so it can store lots of movies for my kids when we our on the go . I think the price is great compared to some other tablets out there . I could go on and on it is loaded with so many great features and capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY DISAPPOINTED I preface that I (and my wife) am a devoted Samsung owner, having purchased Samsung smartphones every 2 years for the last 12 years, and, between the two of us, started with the 7" Nook reader, then the 10", and have purchased two Tab S2s, a Tab S3 and now a Tab S4. My wife can't wait for the release of the S5. I purchased the keyboard for the Tab S4, hoping to use it as a mini-PC. The keyboard function is great. Good tactical feel with large enough keys for my big fingers. However, I don't think the people who designed the Dx keyboard actually use it. 1. The S-pen holder is poorly designed, does not stay in place, and when using the S4 as a tablet, the S-pen easily pops free 2. There are only two positions for the cover: either as a support for the tablet in Dx/keyboard-mode or completely folded back to used the tablet as a tablet. And, as above, it is impossible NOT to knock the S-pen/holder off. Lousy design. 3. Again, as above: the keyboard cover only has two positions 4. And worse of all, and I don't know if there is a fix, when you set the tablet to use the keyboard with it, the screen converts to a screen layout similar to Windows, making it difficult to use as a tablet. However, if you flip the keyboard back for tablet function, the screen does not revert back to tablet mode. You must go into SETTINGS > ADVANCED SETTINGS, and turn off the switch for Samsung Dx. Otherwise... I love the tablet and look forward to Android 9/Pie, sometime soon, since our Note 8s have already upgraded.

The price point is comparable to its major competitor given the tabs premium features and sleek model. I have been a user of Samsung competitor tablet for a few years now but, I officially made the swithc . I have own this tablet for about a month now. I am definitely obsesed with the idea of having the capability of multitasking given the ability of using multiple windows at the same time. The battery life is wonderful which is another key selling factor in my opinion since I can work for very long periods of time with the worry of running out of power.I love the idea that the tablet allows me to use a bluetooth feature so I can connect a mouse to make it feel like an ultrabook that has is much smaller and lighter so no more back pain for carrying additional weight needlessly. The images are so crystal clear and the speakers are just as amazing.

It is very friendly , i am learning new..things to do with it all of the time. Also my grandson Made me a phenomenal card..with greenery, a flower and a hill.. that i just love...using the pencil. I love it..and i love them for turning me on to it! "Huge Ups!".. "all the Way!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavier Than I Expected I wish I had paid more attention to the specs and how much it weighs. I took the micro SD card out of my Tab2 and put it in the Tab4. I get a blinking card in the corner and can't find any help on the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice! I've only had it for a few weeks, so there's a lot that I have yet investigate. So far though, I'm very happy with my S4. DeX is certainly an excellent feature, but I find myself switching back and forth, since DeX mode doesn't properly support some of my favorite apps -- Prime Video, Netflix, CNBC, FoxNews, Spectrum TV. I'd like to know if software updates will take care of this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mid range at best The S4 10.5" does not stack up to my 12.2 which about 4 years old. I would still be using the 12.2 but having a power problem with it, which is the reason I purchased the S4.Although the S4 is loaded to the hilt and full of features, it has a weak wifi receptor. causing an in/out signal and lost of use. I was really expecting something much bigger from Samsung, but it turnout to be a real downer. I will repost if Samsung can resolve the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Keyboard This keyboard is very comfortable to use and quiet to the touch. The size of the keyboard and buttons are good. The cover feels protective. It's easy to switch from tablet to laptop. The pen holder is a bit of a problem. It snaps off easily and can be easily lost by accident. The other issue I had with the keyboard is keeping it clean. It attracts fingerprints but it can be easily cleaned with a wipe. Overall this keyboard goes well with this tablet. Just keep an eye out for your pen. Thanks to the insidersnet.com for allowing me to review this keyboard.

This is really good if you like watching shows and movies. Fast charging is a plus and the sound is amazing! Especially for a tablet. S pen is wonderful as always but it doesn't have a slot to be placed in after using .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and beautiful tablet I am reviewing this as a part of the Insiders product testing group. Overall, this is an excellent tablet. It is powerful, loaded with features, and has a gorgeous display. The tablet is responsive and generally easy to use. It is even better when the keyboard and S-pen are attached and you can put it in Dex mode and use it like a small laptop. I had been hoping to find a tablet that I could use instead of a big laptop, since I don't normally work from home and don't really need all of the functions of a full computer. For the most part, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has the things I was looking for. There are some minor things that I wish were different. One is that this is always going to be a mobile device, so it is run through apps and not through programs. So I cannot use my MS Office suite on it as I would my PC. However, I could pay for a monthly service to use the MS Office apps on it. The second is that it isn't compatible with Google Chromecast. Although the Samsung product information indicates that you can cast Netflix and work on a spreadsheet at the same time, I was unable to get this feature to work properly both on Chromecast and also directly to my Samsung TV. When I consulted Google they stated this tablet is not compatible with Chromecast. Since I had hoped to use the tablet in this way, I was disappointed that I could not. Overall though, I really like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to use it for mobile apps and light computing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing, I bought this as a gift for my wife for Mothers Day, it arrived super fast and was everything my wife expected it to be fast response awesome features and extremely long lasting battery. the entire experience was also simply amazing, Samsung truly built an amazing product, have been a fan of Samsung for a very long time and have never been disappointed. I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a tablet that rivals a laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Most Feature-filled Tablet I've Ever Used When given the opportunity to test drive Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S4 as an Insider, I didn’t expect it to become my dream tablet with many features setting it apart from the competition. The S Pen comes standard. With the S Pen you gain the ability to do things such as write notes, sign documents, or doodle directly on the screen. It’s pressure sensitive and incredibly accurate, but the greatest thing about the S Pen is that it just works without needing to be charged. Ever. The app selection exceeded my expectations. The productivity and social media apps I use every day look great, but what really stands out on the Tab S4 is multimedia. Video looks incredible with HDR support on the bright and colorful Amoled display, and with a 16:10 aspect ratio, movies are rich and immersive. What really surprised me was how great everything sounds. The Tab S4 has 4 AKG tuned speakers, plus Dolby Atmos support. Watching movies and listening to music on this tablet is an experience not to be missed. DeX equals productivity. Turning on DeX Mode lets your tablet function much like a PC. DeX lets you keep multiple windows open on the screen with a tool bar at the bottom. I was concerned that a tablet would struggle to run multiple tasks simultaniously, but here I am streaming music, surfing the web, answering email, and writing this review all at once without any issues. This tablet is a multitasker’s dream. Pair the Tab S4 with Samsung’s Book Cover Keyboard for a fully immersive PC-like experience. I never expected to enjoy the Tab S4 as much as I do, but it’s become my go-to device for reading, writing, watching video, and offering a more fun and enjoyable experience than I’ve ever had with a tablet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Tablet Like No Other Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is like no other tablet I've had ever used. It's by far the fastest and smoothest device. Ive used the Note series phone and like how that had a stylist. Tab S4 is like a bigger version on the Note. The stylus is exceptional responsive and easy to use. Setting up the tablet was so easy. If you already have a Google account or Samsung account, all you have to do is log in. You can select to transfer your info from other Samsung device or set up a new one. I decided to make it a fresh start and was ready to use in 5 minutes. First time using it, I wanted to test the battery life. I noticed the battery life has greatly improved over other generation tablet. I was able to watch 3 Harry Potter movie and still have 25% of the battery left. Most other tablet couldn't even last through 2 movies. I am very happy with the battery life. Like other Samsung device,they are moving away from the physical home button which I like. But I understand the full screen concept is the new thing. The learning curve should not be hard if you are used to the S series or Note series phone. The AMOLED screen is beyond beautiful. The color contrast and the high pixel makes it one of the most beautiful display on any devices. I was ecstatic when I got the chance to used this device at Best Buy. Not that I have it in my own home. I can see it being my daily tablet for a long time. I used it more without the keyboard since I'm used to the virtual keyboard. One of the thing I noticed when I was setting I'm the tablet is that it doesn't recognized the keyboard until you are completely setup. Once you are done setting it up, unplug from the keyboard and plug it back in. I also have Galaxy Book which runs on Window 10. Between the two tablet, I prefer the tablet s4 since it an Android base. It has more apps and a lot easier to install and run program. It's a tablet like no other tablet!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tab S4 Is A Game Changer The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is one techy tablet. The S4 is meant to challenge the 2 in 1 market, a tablet and laptop. I must admit I have a 2 in 1 but never use it as a tablet (I used the IPad as a tablet). But since I started using the Galaxy S4 a whole new tech world has opened up for me. This was my first time using an Android tablet versus an IPad. One thing I noticed right away was the Tab S4 does not have a home button which does take some time to get used to. All the plugs and accessory ports are around the side including a headphone jack and USB-C. This is a definitely a noticeable step up from any Android Tablet I have seen. Set up was fairly simple and quick with the help of my son Tom. The Tab S4 has a sleek and utterly gorgeous 10.5” screen with amazing resolution. There is no squinting with the 2560 x 1600 sharp pixel display. The screen has a very small bezel and a large10 ½” display that compares well with the IPad Pro screen. The screen is great for watching movies especially with the 16:10 aspect ratio. With the brightness of the screen I am able to use the Tab S4 outside unlike other tablets. The S Pen is fantastic to use. It feels wonderful in your hand just like a pen and there is no charging required for the S Pen, so it’s always ready to go. Taking notes, playing games and live messages with the S Pen is fun and there is no latency. The face recognition/iris scan works well. Multitasking on the Tab S4 works great. The four speakers are Dolby Atmos Compatible and delivers a pretty good surround sound effect. The Tab offers 64GB of memory and I can expand with a Micro SD card up to 400GB. DeX allows me to transform my tablet into a Laptop. The DeX UI interface gives you the Windows/Chromebook feel and you can multitask for good productivity. To activate the DeX mode simply pull down the settings window and hit the DeX icon. To return to tablet mode, click on the arrow up on the bottom tray and hi the DeX icon to shut DeX off. The battery is a powerhouse with 7300 mAh has the fast charge capability. You can charge the Tab within a couple of hours. The battery life obviously depends on usage, so far I have been able to use the Tab for fourteen hours before recharging. When I use the keyboard the battery life is less since the keyboard draws its power from the Tab S4. The USB Port is a type C, it also has an OTG (On The Go) which means I can use and USB mouse or insert an USB Flash Drive. Taking pictures with the Tab S4 is a snap and the results are vivid, clear and crisp with the 13 MP camera. The Tab S4 is a versatile tablet that you can take notes on, do presentations, homework, play games, draw a picture, watch a movie, snap pictures and more. This is by far the best android tablet I have seen. I do find that I am using the Tab S4 as a true 2 in 1 laptop, it is less cumbersome and lighter than my current 2 in 1. I am moving toward the Android world. The S4 is truly a grab and go. Thank You to The Insiders for the opportunity to review the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tablet But known SPen issue The tablet itself is amazing. Screen quality, sound, hardware performance and design all exceed expectations. BUT, there is a issue that has already been exposed in many forums including Samsumg's and unfortunately you will have poor SPen performance in portrait mode. Landscape works smoothly but the upright position has lack of precision and will make you calligraphy look messy with letters misaligned going up and down.
