Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protective but IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE!! I wanted to take it off to clean it since dust was getting under the case, but I couldn't! I googled for videos on how to remove it and I still was unable to take it off. A lot of other users on Youtube also had my predicament. If you want to put it on, make sure you want it there forever cause you aren't gonna be able to take it off unless you sacrifice a chicken or smth.

It still does the job, but the chips catch on blankets and things which is really annoying. I wouldn't waste my money on purchasing another case from this company.

The MacBook hasn't left the house, hasn't even been in a non carpeted room, never dropped- etc- but the case cracked off on the corner and is no longer useable. Literally on the laptop less than 3 months. Going to try to warranty it, but I hear it's difficult to get through. Love speck phone cases, but I'm not sold on laptop cases. The color (blue) was beautiful though!

Have been buying speck products for a few years now since I began my undergraduate program and continue to use them in my graduate program. My laptop goes with me everywhere and is in a lot of different settings and this case keeps it protected no matter what the environment is.

Although, I have realized that a few months after having the case on, the bottom shell is cracking on all four corners and I am afraid that it will break. I would recommend this case but I really don't like how there are the cracks.

I decided to give it a try, and it fits perfectly! The case is not too thin but provides just enough protection and state of mind for me. I believe this case would protect the corners of your MacBook if you were to drop it. I purchased the case in clear and it is not completely translucent but it is still very clear. If you are looking for a case that will protect your computer while keeping it aesthetically pleasing, this is the case for you! Overall, I would highly recommend this case for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strongly recommend! I got a new MacBook Air and initially did not want to put a case on it because its so thin and sleek and I like the matte feel of the aluminium. However, I really wanted to keep it in good shape as my previous Mac accumulated so many dents and scratches which I wanted to avoid with my new one. I bought this case and it was a great decision- its so thin and feels matte too, sometimes I forget it's there. Even though I had bought it reluctantly, I'm so glad I did and I feel secure knowing that the Mac won't dent or scratch as I change it from bag to bag and desk to desk. It's not too expensive knowing the investment I'm making for protecting my expensive computer.

Love how seamlessly these fit my MacBooks. It has protected my computer from a few nasty falls. I recently ordered the black cover for my new MacBook Air. The only thing I don't love about this case is that the color shows off grease marks from even the cleanest of fingertips on the top case. But I'd rate full points for protection, for, and general sleek look.

The top portion fits fine, but the bottom portion of the case is a few millimeters short. I had to return it.

I had a bright pink magenta case for my first MacBook Pro (2013) and knew I had to get another trustworthy Speck case for my new 2019 MacBook Air. I got the clear case to show off the silver finish I got and because I wanted the apple logo to be visible as we all know the logo no longer illuminates. But that said! I'd be happy with any color and only wish they had more to choose from! Love that they don't have air vents built in on the bottom because I really wanted a fully "closed" case, too.

It fits perfectly and I love the color, but I much prefer the hard shell see through cases. This case shows every fingerprint and I am constantly having to wipe it off with an eyeglass micro cloth. If it weren't for that I'd go with 5 stars

The bottom is a few mm too small to fit right, but it still does work. HOWEVER, be sure you want this case on forever because it will literally never come off. The top, that is. The bottom removes fine, I think because of the fit, but I wasn't able to take the top off even after 2 clasps came undone and I tried to pry the thing off. I followed some instructions online about using paper or credit cards to unlatch it but with no luck. I wish I had known how permanent it would be before putting it on. Now I'm afraid I'll break my screen taking it off. Protection and appearance wise, great case.

It's a little thicker than I would like and because of that I can't use any adapter hub that sits flush to the machine without removing the bottom. It's a pretty big inconvenience considering there are only two ports on the 2020 Macbook Air and you need an adapter for almost everything. Not sure if there's a better alternative out there though.

They sent me a new one and it's doing it again, the corner broke off and I've only had it for a month. Very disappointed and a waste.

My brother has a Speck case on his MacBook so that's the one I wanted to get as well. I was hoping to find it in a store to get it quicker but when I saw I could only get it from here, I ordered it. I absolutely love it. It was easy to put in and it fits the MacBook very well. I really like it.

When I ordered this cover in 2019 I was very happy with the style and fit. Over time I say, "This Smartshell is horrible!" I purchased case December 2019 and by September 2020 the case had cracks along the edges and pieces have fallen off. My laptop in on my desk 99% of the time, so not much handling that would cause wear and tear. There is a warranty which Speck honors, however, I have not been able to replace the cover due to low or no inventory. I really would like a sturdy case for my MacBook Air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought a speck case for my new MacBook Air since I felt the very inexpensive case I bought was simply poorly made because it cracked at the corner a month after I bought it. Well, the speck case didn't last much longer. The bottom piece is splitting into two pieces. I'm VERY easy on my electronics, as an EE I know the fragile nature. I've had great experiences with my speck iPhone cases, they're simply the best for low profile drop proof cases. It doesn't seem like their laptops cases aren't on par.

BUT this case has a whole corner cracked off, the sides are cracked, the bottom is cracked next to one of the foot pads and AGAIN I know for a fact that I have not dropped or hit my computer (with the case). I am very disappointed because I paid a lot for this because i was expecting good quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Case, Just Got A Bad One I'm not sure if I maybe just had a defective case, however over the first few months of owning this case, it began to crack along the edges until pieces of the case began chipping off. It had never been dropped or mishandled. I eventually purchased a new one at the holiday season. Previously owed though and absolutely love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit 2020 MacBook Air correctly I have a 2020 MacBook Air and this case doesn't fit correctly. The bottom snaps on but the top won't stay in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not happy with my purchase :/ I loved my last SPECK case but this one not so much. As I have a new MacBook Air, I have a USB C adapter hub. I can not connect it with my case. I wish there was a model of this case that accommodates the hub. I now have to buy a new case or use a toggle, which is less sleek. The fit on the case is so tight that when I try and take it on and off to accommodate the hub, I get cracks in the plastic. Bummer.
