Rated 5 out of 5 by from OutstandingI had been trying to get a 1Gb media converter that would work on a fiber run. Tried numerous other brands/models and none would do it. This one did and has been very reliable. Outstanding product that just works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd Set we've purchased, totally pleasedPrior to Tripp Lite we had been using another brand, that was about half the cost of the Tripp Lite, however the previous devices were failing with 12-15 months. We have had two Tripp Lite devices in place now for two and one half years with no issues. Will keep buying Tripp Lite!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good device but read specs betterI bought these because we got a backup 100Mbps ethernet P2P circuit and the provider will only give us copper 100Mbps handoff unless we pay a lot more for the gig optical handoff same speed. Our equipment on both ends only support 1gig or 10gig SFP.This is a good device but the description it misleading. It says multimode fiber but if you read more detail you will see that it's optical wavelength is 1310nm which is long-range and can be used on single mode or multimode fiber. You will need to connect to a long range tansceiver like the GLC-LH-SM or similar. This device will not work with the shortrange GLC-SX-MM or similar short range transceivers which is 850nm.Also Tripplite only supports when the devices are connected directly to eachother over the Fiber ports using an SC-SC cable and the end devices connect to the copper ports. However It does work in reverse when converting from 2 fiber end devices with copper in between the 2 tripplite units but not supported by the Mfg. Also it does work when the device is used to convert gig-optical handoff from a provider to an end device that only has gig copper but again it's not supported by tripplite and the provider must use a Long-range transceiver.
