Works Instantly on Plug in! Got it Fast!
This was our third attempt to get a working cable. One from local store (more expensive than this cable but didn’t work, and other from convenient large online source that was less expensive but didn’t work. The Dell cable worked instantly upon plug in after days of frustrating waiting to use 4k 28” monitor. Save yourself aggravation if you need a Dell laptop compatible cable and go direct. I would have been operational a week sooner. Not to forget, my reluctance ordering from Dell was my impatience for quick hands on. I was very pleased when it came in only a couple of days.

Passive HDMI to DisplayPort Conversion
The conversion from HDMI to DisplayPort is an "active" process. Some monitors have the "active" built-in and will work with a "passive" cable (while other monitors do not have the "active" built-in and require an active cable). Despite the having the word "active" in the name of this product, the cable I received was a "passive" cable and did not provide the needed conversion from HDMI to DisplayPort.

Should give customers the option to select this cable when purchasing a Dell monitor
Cable worked great. Had to purchase this cable to accommodate laptop not having a Display Port cable. When selling monitors, Dell should consider giving customers the option to select which cable to ship. I now have an extra Display Port to Display Port cable that I don't need.

Exactly what I (or you) need!
I was looking for a cable connection for one of my dual monitors that had a displayport and the only other available port on my docking station was an HDMI output. I bought all kinds of cable and adapters without any luck before finding this one and it worked exactly as intended. i.e.converts signal from an HDMI output (from the docking station) to a displayport input (on the monitor). If this is also what you want to do, don't waste your time and money searching and trying other options, this cable is the exactly what you need!

Bad cable
This cable did not work for me and was returned. When first connected the video was good for 10 minutes and then the screen when blank. Although the cable was connected to the correct port (there is an in and out DP port), message on screen said no cable connected.

HDMI Output to DisplayPort Input Adapter works well
This is one of the few adapters available that handle an HDMI output from a laptop to a DisplayPort input and, thankfully, it worked immediately upon connecting. Dell Customer Support was very helpful, so the process was about as easy as possible.

The suggested cable was not at all the correct cable, I called again and gave exact model number of monitor and laptop and was again told to get the incorrect cable. I have spent over $70 on cables suggested by your experts that don't work. I had my work computer help desk come to my office an had this connected instantly with the proper equipment. They don't normally do this but after explaining what I went through with Dell, the agreed to come over.

This is a must have if you have a DP Monitor. A regular conversion cable will not work with HDMI to DP out. This cable did the trick after trying many other cables.

This cable is very difficult to find in the digital market place. One thing a buyer should know is that the signal that passes through it can only travel in one direction, so be sure you purchase the the right one.

High res, low refresh
Works great! Only thing is that I can't get the high refresh rate as I would with a DisplayPort cable. I do get the high resolution of a DisplayPort cable though. 60 Hz refresh rate with this cable.

Adapter works as described!
This worked great for me!! I have a computer dock that has (2) Display Ports & (1) HDMI. All my monitors are exactly the same model. Hooking up one monitor with the HDMI didn’t give the same display as my other two monitors that were using the Display Ports. By using this adapter cable I was able to successfully use the HDMI port on the dock & connect to the Display Port on the monitor & all three monitors have the same display/appearance.

Monitors don't come with proper cords.
I was having problem with my dell monitor for over one year. All cords should come with monitors. That's not the case I think I talked to all the tech support at dell trying to figure out my monitor problem. Until I did my own research and found the problem. I needed to buy this cord. NO tech support ever told me that so buyer beware.

These cables did not work. We purchased another set that worked just fine. My guess is that it needed to be Display Port to HDMI so the direction of data were reversed.

The cable appears to be an excellent quality and attached as required to my monitor and CPU. However, the monitor would not respond to the connection. I don't think it was a cable issue, just a CPU from 2013 that should be upgraded. Spoke with Dell technical support and they were excellent to work with Dell has always impressed me and I will continue to purchase their products.

Not Good, Tried to run HDMI out to Dell monitor with DP only. worked 1 out of 10 times. Then once it worked, if the computer went to sleep it would no longer see the monitor. Tech support said it must be the cable, so ordered another one. Same thing. Replaced the mother board in the PC = Same result. returned monitors for replacement with both DP and HDMI inputs. Bad experience
