The DocuMate 4830 has a friendly interface that allows the user to simply insert their document, and then press the Simplex or Duplex button on the front panel to initiate scanning and automatically email, print, convert or share their file. The buttons are preset at the optimal resolution, color depth, file format and paper size for common scanning tasks, but of course can be easily changed at any time.
Ideal for document management, the DocuMate 4830 includes software tools to edit, crop and retouch scanned images and organize the files into folders. With the touch of a button, users are able to scan and automatically store, OCR, print, attach or view their documents in a range.

Xerox DM4830: Best Scanner I've had in past 20 yrs
I bought this scanner at a very reasonable price and intended first to use with 11" x 17" 13 column client accounting workpapers as 1 reduced scan.
Wonderful and easy.
Took over scanning all other client workpapers: letter, legal and slight oversized.
Again, very quick and accurate.
Black and white and color scans all to 300 DPI.
The only trade-off has been the larger desk footprint, however, speed and volume capability far offsets larger footprint.
Thank you Xerox and Visioneer for teaming up and delivering a superior machine.

Don't waste your money
Worst scanner I've ever used. Besides the horrible software interface, the document feeder is useless. You have to feed the sheets one at time or it will take two sheets at a time.
