Adobe ColdFusion 11 Enterprise Edition is an all-in-one application server that offers developers a single platform to rapidly build and deploy scalable, high-performing web and mobile applications in enterprise environments. Adobe ColdFusion 11 includes features to speed up development, testing, debugging, and deployment of mobile applications by taking advantage of developers' ColdFusion expertise. Additionally, with ColdFusion 11 Enterprise, developers can create and manipulate high-quality PDF files and add peace-of-mind with secure profile, default server lockdown, and other security enhancements.

ColdFusion 11 helps speed up mobile app development by using developers' existing ColdFusion Language skills. Developers do not need to learn new technologies. In addition, developers can enhance their mobile application development workflow by using on-device debugging and multi-device inspection capabilities.

ColdFusion 11 provides full access to Document Description XML (DDX), so that developers can do a lot more with PDFs, such as adding comments, bookmarks, file attachments, and headers and footers with automatic page numbers. Further they can customize the appearance of PDF files by setting page margins, size, and rotation. PDF files are also made more secure with electronic signatures. Developers can leverage archiving capabilities to enable preservation of electronic files as long-term, self-contained documents of record. An improved conversion engine from Adobe generates superior quality PDF files from HTML pages.

ColdFusion 11 helps limit security risks by restricting default remote access to the admin portal. Developers can make servers more secure against click-jacking and cross-site scripting by using various functions to sanitize user input. Programmers can maintain and modify existing code faster and more easily with member functions on ColdFusion objects and extend the power of HTML5 web sockets to public-facing web applications with real-time server response. Finally, they can publish data more securely over Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by 1reviewer.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Compared to other server-side languages, it has a way more developer friendly approach and a less steep learning curve. Valuable Features:When I started using ColdFusion, I only had experience with PHP, and compared to that language, I was amazed by the simplicity and the structure. From that moment forward, I got experience with Java, JavaScript, Mendix, and more. And compared to other server-side languages, it has a way more developer friendly approach and a less steep learning curve.Improvements to My Organization:Especially the integration with the client-sided programming is really friendly. Of course, other languages have improved a lot and this valuable features is getting less and less important for choosing ColdFusion.Room for Improvement:My major concern is the fact that Adobe is not actively pushing the development of ColdFusion since they bought Macromedia. However open source development initiatives like Railo, Blue Dragon and Lucee are picking up the pace and making sure development stays possible.Use of Solution:I have used Adobe Coldfusion (previously Macromedia ColdFusion) since February 2007.Deployment Issues:I had no issues with deployment.Stability Issues:With larger applications I had issues.Scalability Issues:I had no issues with scalability.Customer Service:Never had direct contact with Adobe ColdFusion customer service.Technical Support:Never had direct contact with Adobe ColdFusion customer service.Previous Solutions:PHP for about 6 months, I switched because my employer utilized ColdFusion, however after using it for a couple of months I was sold on the product. And that's why up to today I keep on using the product.Initial Setup:The initial setup was straightforward.Implementation Team:We implemented it by using an in-house team and my own personal experience in later projects.ROI:I believe that developing with ColdFusion saved me about 25% time compared to Java and PHP projects. ColdFusion has a lot of useful built-in functions that the others lack by default. Although via scripts created by others you will still be able to implemented those.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions. April 19, 2016
