Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not running at full speed. ASUS has yet to commentI bought these after reading the "100% compatibility" statement from Crucial on this product page. They seem compatible but they fail to reach 2666mhz on my ASUS ROG Zephyrus GM501GS... :/I get speeds just below 2400. This is a disappointment because the BIOS from ASUS limits configuration. I've reached out to ASUS, but they have yet to reply. If this issue is sorted out I will update this review to a recommendation. As for now I can not recommend this product and the statement from Crucial seems false.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatly Improved ProformanceThe best part about the Crucial site is that they can know your system best with the system scanner. I have a VR GO backpack PC from ZOTAC and it has a very weird setup. It is also very new on the market. But Crucial still knows my PC best and the results were great. I also bought a SSD with similar great results. Highly recommend. -Justin Adri

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works but not running at full speedI bought this RAM kit and it works ok but it does not run at 2666 MHZ. It is running at 2400 MHZ on my HP Omen 15 dc0003la laptop. I ran the software provided by Crucial to test compatibility and even as the software confirms compatibility, the RAM module does not run at full speed (2666 MHZ). There is no XMP configuration on the BIOS (F.05 Rev.A) to try to make it run at full speed. Hope this issue could be resolved with a BIOS update later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BAD RAM NEW OUT OF THE BOXI used the crucial site to determine which DDR4 to use to upgrade the RAM in my new Dell G5 5587. Got the RAM before I got the computer. Received my laptop today and started it up, updated all aspects like normal. Shut it off and followed Dell's manual for changing out the RAM. DEAD MACHINE.. No response. No bootup. NADA. Put the previous Factory RAM back in, boot up NO PROBLEM - message showing NO RAM DETECTED... GRRRRRR. Put the machine back together and initiated a product return/exchange. Hope I get RAM that works this time. If the exchange brings me working RAM I'll revisit this and re-rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JEDEC vs XMP Clock SpeedsLots of people are having issues with the clock speed of this RAM. RAM modules have pre-defined profiles of clock speeds and timing. The motherboard will read those profiles and select the fastest compatible one (I'm oversimplifying this explanation of course). The issue with these particular modules is that the only profile which runs at the speed of 1333 MHz DDR (2666) is an XMP profile, not a JEDEC profile. If your BIOS does not support XMP, then you will not be able to run this ram at 2666, only at 2400. Now, it's hard to tell who to blame for this one. I suppose Crucial should have included a JEDEC profile for the advertised speed of 2666 MHz which is why I took one star off. But, laptop manufacturers should also be supporting XMP. It's also a shame that these profiles are not made available transparently in the product specifications (industry standard practice it seems) before you buy so that those whose laptops don't support XMP know exactly what they're going to get. I would recommend this RAM with the caveat that the purchaser knows that 2666 is only available in XMP and to verify whether or not your system BIOS support this mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from buyer bewareI bought this memory based on CRUCIAL'S compatibility results. Crucial fails to advise that you MUST have access to XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) to speed the memory up to the advertised speed of 2666. without access to this setting in the bios your pretty memory runs at 2400. this is a sodimm. don't quote me, but maybe 20% of laptops have access to that setting. Be upfront with your customers. educate, don't manipulate ..
