We purchased two of these to replace aging Dell and HP switches and have been very pleased. The web interface makes configuration easy, but I prefer to use the CLI. I set them up a year or two ago and have not had to touch them since then, they have been rock solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullGood solid switch for SMB. GUI is straightforward even if its DNA comes from the old Linksys range. We use these to sit below top level SG500 units in small (sub 200 user) environments. Reliability has been good even on PoE units running heavy loads. Fair price point

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullDefinitely a great switch for the small business environment. Noted the layer 3 strength to be lacking but with that you get what you pay for. VLAN capability is fairly good but a little tricky with the limited CLI. For a mid-line switch I would rate this one up there based on the available features and the target market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullThe SG300 series is a great SMB switch. It's higher price than the HP competition but it's a quality product. If you're a cisco shop looking for something for a little relay rack or a SOHO this is the line for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullIn quite a few discussions, I've seen people complaining about the CLI not being the same as in the 2960's. You need to keep in price tag in mind when comparing, and the difference is huge. It's a great switch for the money, just don't start routing (thus, don't activate the OSI Level 3 mode at all) and don't expect a full blown Cisco IOS CLI. We are using about 10 units (misc. models, 24/28 and 52 ports, PoE and non-PoE versions) and not a single one failed since we bought the first one nearly 4.5 years ago. Great switch for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullGood switch, glad that it has a CLI at all compared with the SG200s that just have the web GUI. As you will soon find though, it is not anywhere close to the full Cisco CLI, so it can get frustrating when you go to run commands and find out they are not support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullFor the price, these are good switches. I have a dozen SG's deployed. Occasionally, the web/telnet interface stops responding and the switch needs to be restarted. This makes them less than ideal for 100% uptime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullNot running IOS. Honestly for the price range I would avoid and either go up to 2960S, or to DLINK or Netgear if your trying to be cheap. Cisco is likely dumping these with Linksys. Had issues with random lock ups in the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullReally good switch, Great manageability from web interface. it does lack some things from the CLI and you can not turn it into a layer 3 switch by using the web interface besides that, nothing to complain. I was mostly amazed by the transfer speeds and the easy deployment since it runs as a DHCP client out of the box

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullWith the current street price below $900, these switches have a LOT of features for the money. Note that Cisco de-contented the replacement SG500 series in comparison. The CLI is close enough to IOS to be comfortably familiar and the lifetime warranty & support with no freaking Cisco contract is great.Compared to equivalently priced Dell/SMC (both Accton made) or NetGear (also Accton?) switches, the basic L3 features are a very nice addition. HP's re-stickered 3Com stuff is not nearly as desirable with NO CLI on the 1810 series.Kind of funny to see the SMB line costing Enterprise sales....Regards,Brian in CA
