With "Mail in" or "Return-to-Depot" service, Dell Technical Support will provide phone-based troubleshooting to try and resolve the issue. If the diagnosis confirms that the system has experienced a qualified failure, packaging, shipping and return instructions and a pre-paid shipping waybill will ordinarily be dispatched to your/your customer's location on the next business day if you call prior to 4:00pm. If non-Dell options added to the system are found to be the cause of the problem, a service charge may be applied. Dell reserves the right to send a whole replacement for the system or a replacement for portions of the system rather than repairing and returning the system sent for repair. Normal factory build times apply when Dell chooses to replace a system instead of repair. Typical cycle time for a system, including shipping to and from the repair center, is approximately 8-10 business days.
