Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save You Money Bought my first one of these at the end of Jan. 2019. Delivery was delayed due to the Polar Vortex. I think the battery sat on a truck in -20 degrees, because by the time I got it, it would charge and show all green power lights, but when put to use, it wouldn't charge anything. After trying on and off for about a month (to make sure it just wasn't the user), I called Tech support and they send me another one. This one works (somewhat), but I guess my expectations were too high. I have a Mobile Precision 7720, and the Power Bank only gives me about 2 extra hours of run-time, compared to the 4 hours I get by using the native on-board battery. In retrospect, knowing what I know now, I should have spent the same extra money on a second computer battery, and just swap this in an out, instead buying this disappointing power bank. It is also about 2/3s as big as a computer battery. Also, I have tried multiple times, when the power bank is fully charged, to charge my I-Phone off of it. After a couple of hours, the most I get recharged is around 5 to 8%. Very disappointing, when compared to normal charge times. Again, I guess my expectations were unrealistic for what I had planned to use the device for. Save your money, just buy a replacement computer battery, and swap in and out as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent battery life, vulnerable battery to laptop connection This is a very good battery. It holds it's charge well. My original purchase still serves me well in providing a good charge to my devices after two plus years. The connection to the laptop, however, is a weak point. The wire is not as well protected at the point of connection to the battery. It is vulnerable to exposure as it is flexed back and forth and eventually failed, causing sparking. It was still worth it to me to purchase a new one which seems to have the same vulnerability. I am protecting against the problem by limiting the flexing with a rubber band around the body of the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with Venue 11 Pro Tablet I purchased this to keep my tablet charged when I'm on the go. When it arrived I discovered that the powerpack can only be charged with a dell charger. After charging the power pack and connecting it to my tablet, I found that it didn't charge my tablet at all. I even turned the tablet off and left it connected to the charger for about four hours and it didn't even charge it one percent. After doing some research, I was led to believe it was because I wasn't using the USB cable that came with the tablet. I have several cables - one of which has to be the original cable, but none of them worked. I ended up purchasing a new AC adapter and a USB cable directly from Dell. The Dell AC adapter does charge the powerpack, but the power pack will not charge the Venue 11 tablet, even with the USB replacement cable that is specifically identified for this tablet. I've spent over $160 on this powerpack and the necessary accessories and it still doesn't perform the way it is intended. On the plus side, it does charge my cell phone, but most powerpacks will do that at about one fifth of the cost of this.

The Dell person i was dealing with sold me the Power Bank. It turns out the device is rated at 90 watts and my machine wants 180 watts. It will run the machine at a reduced capacity. It does work good extending my cell phone battery.

The computer performs better when this is connected because it thinks it is plugged in. It means that I can use my laptop for an entire 9 hour flight. It also will charge my iPhone and iPad. It is the only power bank I need. It is great that when the bank is empty, your laptop still has a full charge. I am ordering a second as a backup for those really long trips.

It is also important as a back up since the battery in the lap top is not replaceable. I believe if the main battery dies, this is your only option to power the computer. The two USB ports is a nice convenience. My only issue is the weight of the unit, it is a bit heavy given its weight plus the weight of the computer. It's a load to carry in a bag. Still a good buy. Would recommend this item.

However have concern about a SOH reading of 21-40% after a single full day usage. Battery was fully charged before this & documentation says battery is shipped with a SOH reading of 100%. Battery is fully charged now (100%), but I still have that 21-40% SOH which indicates a drastically shortened service life. Please advise as I should still be under manuf warranty after 1 mo purchase - would be willing to try a replacement. Will change Friend recommendation upon Dell review

I bought the Power Companion specifically to work for my Venue 11 tablet, but I can't get it to work. When I purchased the Power Companion, it listed the Venue 11 as a compatible device. Once I got the battery and found it didn't work, I noticed the reviews of the product on Dell's website saying it didn't work on the Venue tablet and now see that the Venue is no longer on the list of compatible devices. Can anyone recommend a good backup power device for the Dell Venue tablet?

I would have had to buy 3 more cables, doubling the cost, to make it work with my laptop's type C connections. I can't speak to quality or performance at all unfortunately. Had to return it after days of conversations.

We bought an Dell Inspiron 7591 last year, then we also decided to purchase this Dell Power Bank, we were shock because it's not working on this Dell Inspiron 7591, but before we purchase this power bank, we saw that 7591 is on the list of compatibility, after checking it now, the unit model is gone, then just to make sure that the power bank we purhcased is OK, we tried it in our Dell XPS 15 9560, and it works like a charm. We also called our local dell tech support, and i got the same result. Hoping for a work around or maybe an updates regarding this matter. Thanks

In fact it only got the laptop battery charged to 93% before it was exhausted. Charged iPhone well which seems to be its only saving grace. Cannot recommend as replacement for plug-in adapter

This is a great item to use whenever sitting through a lecture or meeting and you won't be using your laptop. I am pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who maybe without an outlet close by and want to do some work.

This power pack works great with my laptop. It fits into a slot in my dell 17 inch backpack and the cord goes through a hole to the laptop and charges it on while in the backpack. I have also used it as supplemental power while using my laptop. I cannot say anything bad about this. I'm delighted with this power pacek.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keyboard needs work I would give more stars, but the keyboard needs work and the fan motor is loud. The spacebar key does not like to work properly and consistently. The fan, when it comes on, makes a very loud noise. Louder than any computer I've ever owned.

That product hardly worked but this worked right away. This was the first thing I noticed. I have used this a handful of times and it has consistently worked really well for me. I have yet to put it through a test of how long this actually in terms of times it will allow me to work. I will be testing that aspect of it at a later time. I like the fact it provides power to my computer as well as charge my phone.

I begrudgingly picked up a Power Companion since Dell has disabled their external battery slice from working with their newest 5000 and 7000 series laptops. I was sad that I could no longer use my multiple 97Wh battery slices to keep the laptop going as well as being able to charge the battery slice separately from the laptop itself (in case I was presenting and there was a power outlet but not close to the podium. I was somewhat interested in trying the Power Companion as a replacement since it also includes 2x USB ports for charging other devices and can be charged separately from the laptop, but can also charge the laptop WHILE being charged. This is great as I typically have a phone, a tablet, and my laptop with me and with the battery slices I had to resort to using the laptop as a phone charger if I was away from an outlet for an extended period of time, and now I only have to carry 1 laptop adapter to charge the Power Companion and the laptop. I was worried that the Power Companion wouldn't provide enough output for my Precision 7510, but I had previously been able to use the 90w Auto/Air adapter without issue and worst case I could hopefully sleep/suspend the laptop and charge it from the battery pack in between working sessions. So far it appears my fears haven't been realized, I was able to run the laptop on a lower brightness and it was able to charge my 7510 without any errors or warnings about the voltage being too low. It appears upon examining the Power Companion that it can supply 65W, which is apparently enough for the 7510 even with 64GB of RAM installed and the fastest i7 processor available for it. It was able to charge my laptop from around 52% up to 78% over the course of an hour or so, and this probably provided me an extra hour or two of battery life at that brightness level. I didn't test while running extremely intensive programs, but I did have a lot of browser windows open (Chrome) which tends to keep the CPU busy.

There is a lot of paperwork that comes with the product but there really is no in depth instructions, just a quick start guide. So far, it’s the only product I have found that will let me take my laptop on the go, away from the power cord or docking station.

Although my XPS 15 9560 is shown as a supported model, it is not. 1. If you plug the power bank into the laptop, the laptop errors out with an unrecognized charger, and your laptop won't be charged. 2. If you plug the charger into the power bank, and plug the power bank into the laptop, same error, your laptop will not be charged. The power bank is an expensive paperweight. Buy something else.

Nowhere in the product description is it identified as a power bank. Though I have every reason to believe the power bank is excellent, it does not replace an internal battery and should not have been at the top of the products returned from the search! I considered returning the product to Dell, but I can use the power bank. This insufficient description resulted in my needing to make two purchases rather than the one I had intended.

It still had some capacity remaining after the laptop recharge. I also like the capability to recharge my laptop and Android smartphone at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for what I need Works pretty good, claims it can charge more than it can though. From about 30 percent it will only charge my laptop to about 90 percent. It claims you can fully charge most laptops a few times but it fails to meet that. Still pretty convenient to have while I do a lot of traveling.

Bank charges super quick, also think it runs out kind of quickly, definitely don't get double digit hours but it's fine because I don't need that much. It's a little heavier than expected but worth it.

As a Dell product, it attaches cleanly to my Inspiron 5000 to augment its aging replacement battery when I can't plug in for a while.

I use the generic description because I searched many different ways under my product type, and this was the only match. It looked similar to what I lost so I ordered it. Imagine my surprise when I set it up and there was no cord between the unit and wall. I had to get creative with my searches and eventually found the Dell 7.4 mm barrel 65 W AC Adapter. Didn't really get the deal I was looking for with my Dell $$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extended battery life to work on the go. Works as advertised. We have users at my job with laptops on carts to pick parts for builds and they can go 6-8 hours without being near an outlet and these battery packs are the perfect solution.
