Rated 1 out of 5 by Misleading specifications I just bought the LW-400 because of the wider 18mm tapes it supports. Imagine my surprise when after buying the extra 18mm tape it turns out the LW-400 does not really support the extra width. It prints the same as if it was using the narrower labels. WHAT IS THE POINT THEN? If I can't get a bigger font on the wider tape, I just wasted a bunch of money. I feel like just throwing it in the garbage. January 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by lw-400 lable works easy use, durable product, overall many options of different labeling, and not expensive. good quality and great name brand. March 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Epsom Label maker LW-400 Great machine with a lot of options.. I used it a great deal the first month I had it and have most everything labled that I use all the time.I had not even thought about using it to identify cords, cables and power supplies for my computer equipment.. the flag lables work good to identifykey rings too. Rated 4 out of 5 by Creativity! This labeler is very versatile in its usages. You are able to get as creative as your imagination takes you within the parameters of what is offered. Being able to use 3/4" as well as 1" tape (the variety of tapes is almost limitless!) makes it great for all types of projects. Although I have found the instructions a bit hard to decipher due to lack of detail & assumptions that you should already know the answer, I feel that with repeated use, I will be able to master most of the intricacies of the labeler. If you have never used this type of labeler before, be prepared to waste some tape in the process of learning how to use it. July 8, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not all combinations of font/sizes look good Its OK printer, the UI is adequate and easy to understand, in spite of what other reviewers say.My issue is with the font rendering quality - it tends to over-dither large font, making it look "dirty" and not only kerning is nonexistent but also at some smaller font sizes the letters tend to either overlap or to leave ugly gaps between. So matching font and font size combination that look OK is a long trial and error process, and I only ended up with just one that does not look ugly - Gothic with 2-line printing size.Bottom line, if you don't care about typography it you'll be happy with this printer, but if your eyes hurt when looking at poorly kerned and typeset text - then seek alternative. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nifty label machine with lots of features. Just like using a new cell phone for the 1st time there is a learning curve with using the LW-400. The people complaining about it being hard are the ones that haven't taken the time to get familiar with it. For the price it is one amazing little machine. Some cons: the screen doesn't display what the actually label will look like. It just displays the Icons, Text and how long the label will be. The manual is sparse. It is just a few pages long and explains things, but could have been much more helpful if it gave examples. September 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what I spent hours researching for. After comparing the main three brands as well as reviews on multiple sites for the main contender. There were many complaints about the instruction manual's clarity. As well as many endorsements of it's ease of use. I must say that the people who can't understand this machine need to take classes in technology to bring them out of the dark ages. This product is wonderful and a pleasure to use. This company thought of everything for enjoyment and ease of use. But, yes, the tape is overpriced. September 17, 2013
