The Powershred® 425Ci provides high performance commercial shredding. The 100% Jam Proof System eliminates paper jams and powers through tough jobs. Auto-Oil™ automatically lubricates the cutters to enhance performance and extend shredder life. The patented SafeSense® Technology stops shredding when hands touch the paper opening. Energy Savings System reduces energy consumption by up to 70%, compared to conventional commercial shredders during normal usage. The 425Ci is designed and assembled in the USA (TAA Compliant) and features a wide 12” paper entry. The continuous duty motor offers non-stop shredding for 10+ users. Includes 2-year product and service warranty, plus lifetime on cutters. The 425Ci shreds 28 sheets per pass into 5/32” x 1-1/8” cross-cut particles (Security Level 3), and has a 30-gallon bin. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Execellent Product The Fellowes C-480C shredder is very effective in meeting all of my shredding needs. Perfect for shredding paper, credit cards, CD/DVDs and small paper clips that I may forget to remove. It is a very durable piece of equipment with great performance in addition to its quiet operation feature. I would highly recommend this shredder to anyone who wants a reliable, durable, effective, and efficient product. This shredder is able to shred more amounts of papers at one time than my previous shredder without becoming jammed and delaying the shredding process. The cover over the blades provide an excellent safety feature to prevent mishaps from occuring and there is also a minimum of mess to clean up because of the large capacity of the recyle bin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not what we were told We bought two because we need to destroy alot of paper due to going to an imaging system. I was told this machine would be heavy duty and able to run 24/7 without any problems. Not true. Within a week of using during the workday as our volunteer began shredding all the documents, both machines broke inside. We had to wait another week while an office supply company ordered the parts. Fortunately, we had an OLD shredder we have had for over 10 years and I have to say, it is still performing better than these two new supposedly heavy duty shredders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchase ever Yes, being in the purchasing industry, we have seen and used many different models and brands of shredder's.In my experience we have come to rely on Fellowes, they are very duriable and reliable from the low to the very high performance! My company for the pass 10 years and enjoyed the 485ci unit, that we purchased another one for a group of10 shared users! Plus today, we just installed the 425ci unit, for HR Dept., use of 10 more shared users! these items are very easy users and very well manufactured! We are very proud of the Fellowes Products!

I recently purchased a pair of 425ci units which replaced a Fellowes C-420C and a competing brand shredder, both which we acquired used. I chose to replace the two with two Fellowes units due to the high performance and reliability we need. With self-oiling, large shred bin, extreme duty, jam-resistant performance from a compact machine, I couldn't ask for more.

Two were purchased to supplement with contracted shredding company. They seem to work well. Shreds junk mailings, CD's, credit cards smoothly without jamming. Large bin that does not have to be emptied as frequently as previous Fellowes shredder. Very happy with purchase. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Shredder Good Shredder for a mid size office. Holds a lot of "shreds". Very nice collection basket - our last one was a wire frame and we had to fight with it all the time. Overall very impressed with this. Only downside is that it is pretty loud when shredding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great For Small Jobs have tested shredder and never get more than 16 pages in 1 minute. does not work good with small pieces of paper or customers needing to shred old checks. Doesn't jam but stops and gets clogged if you put more than 16 pages in.

This shredder can run continuously for over an hour without overheating. It has never jammed! The large capacity container for the shredding it great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shredder I am not sold on this shredder yet. It is a powerful shredder, but still does not always shred anywhere close to the amount of paper is says. Also, every now and then it will squeal and make loud noises....when just shredding a small amount of paper. There is plenty of oil in the oil compartment so I don't know what is happening with it. It is only a couple weeks old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough and Reliable Shredder This is the 2nd shredder of this kind that we have ordered for our school. All staff have access to it so it is constantly in use. The original one we ordered held up really well which is why I have ordered the same one as a replacement. I like how smooth and quite it is. I believe it is worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I had done this earlier We purchased an inexpensive shredder as we didn't want to spend the money on something more expensive. After struggling a year with a shredder that would shut off when it got too hot and take forever to cool down, it is wonderful to have a shredder that you can shred a box of paper and it doesn't shut off. It also doesn't jam, it just stops for a second or two and then powers through it. I just wish I had purchased this first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done We received our shredder for the office and I will have to say that I was not pleased when opening the front door that the bin that came inside of it is made of cardboard. For the amount of money spent on this machine, I believe there should be something a little more sturdy inside besides a cardboard box. However, after plugging it in and starting to use it, it works fairly well and we are pretty pleased with it. Like I said, the only thing I would change about this is the cardboard box inside.

We have never bought anything from Fellowes so we thought it was time to give them a chance. After countless hours of looking at shredders and pricing we finally came down to Fellowes shredder because of the Positive feedback from other users from Fellowes. This is the greatest and safest and most economical shredder we have ever owned. We give it 5 stars.

This shredder is jam proof, self oiling, shreds staples and CD's, and is self oiling. The C-420C is very durable. All of these features are extremely important because we have many multiple users.

It runs for long periods of time with no problems. It is self oiling, one less thing to remember to do. We are very happy with this shredder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just like all Fellowes shreders Works great until it doesn't. Then if you want fix a simple problem by replacing a part, good luck. Nowhere can one find a list of parts, an exploded view or any other way to find either a part, a part number, a part price or where to get a part for Fellowes shredders. Oh, it's easy to find multiple dealers to sell you a new shredder. But, forget about fixing the one you have. I guess Fellowes prefers making a bunch of money off the suckers instead of allowing us to replace a cheap part. I'll go elsewhere for my shredder in the future. Oh, and have a nice day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Product We are very disappointed with our shredder. The first day we used it it was leaking oil all over the floor. I called Zack at Fellows and he directed me to our local Fellows Servicing Dept. and advised it has a 3 yr warranty. The company came and advised that they would reoder new parts for our new machine and that the oil was leaking from the outside. He came back replaced the parts and cleaned everything out and 2 days later it is leaking again. We did not overfill the oil resevoir as the service dept filled it and I have a note on the machine on how to step by step do it. I am now going to call the service dept. again and let them know. I cannot rate this machine anything other than a minus at this time. We thought this was a highly rated machine and couldn't wait to receive it but now we are very disappointed. We are a teaching academy and need a machine that will be dependable.

We needed the capability of shredding CD/DVD's and credit cards, along with "basic" paper. Not sure yet on how long the oil will last with our usage. You can "smell" the oil, so it appears to be working. Really like the automatic oiling function and the Safe Sense features. Only complaint...was the instructions on the box itself on how to unpack the shredder. It actually made it tougher to get the shredder out of the box(Instructions have you placing the shredder on its side, even though it appears you will have it right-side up).

It is lightweight, flimsy, cardboard and looks like it will barely survive one week of use. Completely at odds with the rest of this heavy duty shredder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far So Good! We have had our new shredder for a couple weeks now and it is absolutely fantastic! 12 people share this shredder and it is constantly being used everyday. Everyone loves the sleek design and styling, the ease of use, and the ability to shred cards and CDs. I particularly love the auto-oiling feature and that it came with oil and nice, thick bags that we can easily reorder. It's so much better than our old shredder, people are just finding things to shred so they can use it!
