This model is much more compact,easy to set up and test and I will no doubt soon get used to lifting the shredder off in order to empty it.First impression is that it is much quieter than my old model .

The unit is considerably quieter than my last shredder - was a Staple brand. Unit has a 6 gallon bin which requires emptying less often than my previous unit. Pull out bin would have been nice but pull outs sometimes leave a mess depending on their design. All in all I am impressed at this point - time will tell.

Other shredders our office has used have been loud and messy. The 60 Cs is quiet and paper stays in place and does not end up all over the floor. So glad I ordered this product. And it was in our budget! Sleek clean design makes it easy to store in a corner.

First time buyer of this brand (other brand was useless) This fellowes seems to be better built; more safety features, such as overheat, i think that is a wonderful feature, plus two off/on switches, another great feature. Used it first time this morning and it worked great. I may follow up later. Also the store clerk's knowledge or fellowes products and his courtesy with me.

Part of the area where the shredder teeth are is plastic. The on off switch is loose and not very precise. My 23 year old Fellows straight cut was definitely better quality.

I have just spent the passed hour shredding a bunch of items with so much ease. It's amazing. Best shredder I've ever used. Hoping it continues to serve me well in the months to come. The only thing I would say as a small negative is that it is a little bit on the loud side for an office environment. Thankfully, I don't sit around a lot of people!

Other than that it always performed great and handled paper as well as credit cards like a pro. Very happy with this shredder! It takes up to 10 sheets at a time and sure saves me time when cleaning out our old files. The quality is superb and the convenience of credit card slot is well appreciated. It has safety features to prevent insurgies. It has not jammed and the mess is minimal compared to to others. The warranty is very good. Great product.

It keeps your fingers safe from the action and it shreds paper quite well. We haven't had any problems with jams or slow downs due to the quantity of paper inserted. I would definitely recommend this product to those who need a shredder. PS - this shredder is being used in our home but we are currently shredding a lot of documents amassed by our deceased parent who saved every piece of paper she ever received!

This one is much faster, does more sheets at one time, has a larger shredder basket, and does credit cards (which I have not tried yet, but looking forward to that option). It was a very simple setup and am totally enjoying using it and finally being able to shred everything when needed. No longer have to box up "to be shredded" to be burned in our fireplace in the winter :)

It's compactness saves space and is easily stored in a cabinet to make work areas look less cluttered. I particularly enjoy the power switch as opposed to the sensor mechanics of other shredders. It is less likely to jam caused by sensor errors.

As a physician independent contractor I needed a smallish shredder that could be used in my home office and function as advertized time after time. The 46060 has performed mightly and lived up to all expectation.I recommend without reservation the 46060 to any one with needs similar to mine.

However, I tested and it does the job well. 10 sheets not a problem, staple not a problem, etc. I haven't had it for too long so I can't comment on the reliability, but the construction looks like it will last (compared to the previous shredder I owned).

Also, enjoy the quit running of the schreder. Rated it a little lower on the style and design because there are no grab handles on the basket. So far, so good. Only used a couple of times but am impressed.

Little bit noisy , and when you pick up the top to empty the bin, be careful , or you may drop paper on the floor ! not a good thought out machine.

My current unit shredds just great no jamming and is easy to empty. As of yet has not over heated at all. I have had it for 2 months shredding paper and credit cards and my only drawback is it is slightly noisy but else all is fine. I would recommend this unit as a buy.

I've given it 4 (out of 5) stars for two reasons: (1) it's pretty loud, and (2) I wish there were an easier way to empty of shredded paper (you have to remove the top half of the shredder then empty the base/bucket portion).

I have not had any paper jams and really like the safety features especially with grandchildren always trying to touch it with their hands. In addition, I have not had any problems with overheating. I had set up a small business but with lots of confidential transactions and paperwork and always wondered how to have trash them material but the safest way possible, went online and searched, kept searching, until i found the Fellows Shredder. I like the style and design, as i used to have one but with paper jam problems and even safety concerns, but when unboxing and using it of very first time. i came to know that out of all the minor of major office items bought so far, this is the one that i will never regret. Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 5th Shredder I am a shredding fanatic. If it has my name or address on it, I shred it. Over the years I have burned up 4 previous shredders. A couple cheap ones from the big box stores, a low grade one that said I could shred cd's but jammed on a checkbook binding ( I won't be trying that one again). I was at an office supply store and saw this model. I have a young grandson who wanders in the room while I am shredding and I really like the safety feature that it will shut down if it comes in contact with a hand. I have had this shredder for a few weeks, but have put it through the tests. I look forward to years of shredding. Thanks fellowes!

The directions for use and maintenance are easily understood. As with all machines, it does require oil periodically. No problems at all with this product. Very satisfied.

Especially love that it shreds paperclips and staples. It is a little louder than I'd like, but since it doesn't run for long periods of time this is not an issue.

The first two shredders we bought from this company were the same exact model and would've bought that one again but can't find it so had to look for a different one. This one is a little shorter than the first model but just as durable and we're very happy with this model as well. I don't think you can go wrong if you buy Fellowes! I highly recommend this item and this company to everyone.

I had the first one for a few years but I neglected to oil the blades and it finally jammed up one too many times and shut down. It pays to read the instructions first! I like this shredder. It can hold 6 lbs of shredded material which I like because I don't have to empty the bin quite so often. The shredder is pretty quiet and it's quick! I like to shred papers with my name and address so I plan on using it every day like I did the last one. Nice unobtrusive size about 14" tall and looks good, not cheap-looking.

The motor still worked but the gears that turn the shredder drums apparently stripped out. After 15 yrs of intermittent (twice a week) shredding, I really can't complain. Hoping this one with all the new safety features lasts like the old one did. Thank you, Fellowes, for such a top quality product. Keep up the fine work.

Find it a little noisy but it does a great job of shredding staples and have to try a credit card one day! The safety features are great to have since there are kids and pets around. The warranty is fair, and it gives me a great feeling of safety that my documents are shredded and can't be put together so easy! Over all I love the Fellow's Shredder!

The only things I don't like about this shredding is the fact the motor engages when turning on the master power switch even if there is nothing within the sensor's range. This shredder is also louder than I would expect for it's size - it is something you don't run at night unless your trying to wake your spouse.

After looking at several models, and discussing our needs with the salesman at Office Max, my husband & I decided on this model. It does everything that it claims to do. I am very satisfied. The only drawback I have is the top has to be lifted off to empty the wastebasket, and that is a little cumbersome for me due to my arthritis. But overall, I would give it a 4.9 out of 5 rating!!!

Having recently done some product research (as I always do for major purchases), it seemed that Fellowes was one of if not *the* best solutions. Having now used the product to shred a mountain of old credit card statements and other documents, I'm quite happy with the choice I made. It tends to be a little noisier than I'd wish, but it also seems that's the nature of the beast and is unavoidable with the current state of available products and technology.

Went on Office Depot site and looked at many many shredders. Finally setteled for a new and improved model of what I had. Price was fair, improved design will eliminate spill didn't have all the whistles and bells but did what I need it to do. My boss has had three fancy ones in the time I have had this one. Very dependable product.

A few drawbacks: it is a little awkward to empty as there is no pull out bin-the shredder head (heavy) has to be removed and set aside to access the bin, which supports the head; there are no handles or grips on the machine for ease in moving the shredder; it would have been nice if Fellowes had included a small sample of the oil they recommend be used after each bin emptying.

So I decided to get a new one and since my work load has drop I went with a smaller machine as it will not be shredding as many paper per month. So far it is working great and is a lot safer machine way quieter than my old machine.

Not only does this one outperform my old one, but it is quieter, and takes up much less room in my little office. I have grandchildren running about occasionally too, and it's nice to have that safety feature where it won't operate if there are fingers touching the feed/slot area. I like the fact that the "body" of the shredder is actually the shredder bin, so it's easy to just lift of the head and dump the bin into a clear plastic bag for curb disposal. Couldn't have found a shredder more suited to my needs, (and I did a lot of research online before I bought this). Also liked the Fellowes brand name. They have a well earned and longstanding reputation for quality.There are other Fellowes shredders that are bigger, more expensive, or have heavier duty cycles, but this one is perfect for me. Mainly use it to shred old documents that are no longer relevant, like bills, credit card statements, bank statements, expired drivers licences, things you don't like to just toss in the garbage for anyone to read. Can't be too careful these days with all the identity theft stuff gong on out there. Everyone needs a good shredder! Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stopped working shortly after 1 year We have a small office of 4 people. We do not shred tons of documents on a daily basis. Maybe 1-10 per day at different intervals. We took proper care of the machine following it's care and cleaning instructions with the proper oil. However, it decided to not shred anymore shortly after 1 year of use, and will barely pull the document down and if it does it goes sideways. Just wish it would of lasted longer than one year. Not a horrible product just disappointing. And overall it is a really loud machine.

It works well (I usually put only 6 sheets at a time although it is rated at 10) and it works perfectly. I have tried its safety measures (although tentatively) and they appear to work as advertised. For a home unit somewhat better than the most basic units, I would recommend this shredder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems sturdier than others I was in Office Depot to buy their "house brand" (Ativa) on sale. The salesman demonstrated the Ativa, but my eye caught the Fellowes 60Cs. It seemed better-made and sturdier than the house brand, and I was familiar with the brand name. When I asked the sales associate which one he would buy he said "Fellowes", even though the store has a higher profit margin on the Ativa. So I spent $20 more for the Fellowes because I felt that I was getting a better product that would last longer. I've used it at home, and it seems to confirm my positive opinion. It jammed a few times, probably because in my naivete I tried to cram too much paper into it's jaws at one time... after all the limit is 10 pages. But it DOES seem pretty rugged for a medium-use home shredder... definitely a couple of steps up from a cheaper unit.

After figuring out how to turn the shredder on: Move shredder toggle switch to the on position, slide the selector switch to on (Shredder will start to run and then stop) Insert paper and it automatically turns on. Sounds simple but if you take in account my last shredder purchased over 15 years ago, all I had to do is plug the shredder in and insert paper. Seems to cut fairly fast and the cross cut is the same as our last printer (which is excellent) . We will see how this one does when I have a stack of papers and if 6 minutes is enough to get the job done...thinking it will!

Second, the on/off switch is, rather oddly, at the back of the machine when you'd expect it to be t the front. Third, you can't see when the bin is full without removing the lid.There is a viewing panel but it's black so that you can't see anything.. How ridiculous.

The power still works, but it will not shred or work in reverse. I have cleaned out the machine, there is no paper jam and I have left it unplugged for several hours - no luck. Customer service is also very difficult to contact. I do not recommend this shredder and i am very disappointed with Fellowes.

I thought the previous one was good, but this takes more sheets, staples, is faster, quieter, and is much more resilient than the previous model, which I thought was pretty good anyway. Great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Purchased Shredder I have only used the shredder a couple of times. The vertical slot takes a little getting used to. The lid which contains the shredder is heavy which makes it a little hard to manage, but also gives me the impression that it is well-built and durable. Time will tell. I'm hoping for long-lasting operation and quality cuts with no JAMS or sticking points. Isn't very quiet when it runs and sliding the lever to the "on" position isn't very easy. It feels like you're going to tip the shredder over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good shredder Have had one of these in regular use for some ten years with no problems, but for some reason the plastic around some of the blades has broken away. This meant that it just clogged up, so I purchased another as I have had such good service from the old one. Unfortunately the box was very battered but the content seemed ok. Set it up, oiled it with Fellowes oil, and away it went. It does seem to have a more sensitive 'safe' sense than the previous one but that could just be because it's new. Have shredded quite a lot of paper, like the cross shred action, and all is well. Empty it frequently and oil occasionally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY Bought the shredder in April 2021 and it's currently June 12, 2021, and it has stopped working. The "safe sense" light is on and I have watched all the youtube videos to clear it and because it's so "safe" it no longer shreds. I would return it if I had the box but threw it away because it worked like it was described the first couple of days. I followed the directions and even put less paper into shred but once the light came on, I have not been able to use it nor return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safe sense faulty - disables shredder - permanently! The safety feature on my version of this shredder renders it inoperable nearly all of the time. It is on constantly (Orange light) as soon as the unit is turned on, and nothing will make it go off. So the shredder is self-disabled all the time. It has worked once or twice but the light is here to stay! Other Fellowes shredders have a button to disable this feature but not the 60Cs. I see from reading reviews on shopping sites that I am not the only one with this issue.

Chosen another, but this will be last Fellowes unless more durable. Used as home machine. Lubricated regularly, and not over-used. Very poor quality build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little shredder I initially purchased the Fellowes 99Ci, because it was a heavy duty shredder and I like that the bin pulled out from the side (I don't have a lot of room). But I unfortunately had to return it because it was so big. I then purchased the 60CS. It's only for light home use anyway. It's similar to the last Fellowes shredder I had. I love my 60Cs. It shreds fairly quietly and does a good job. I like the size and looks of it, and I like the safety features as well. I only wish that it had a bin that pulled out from the side, as these are easier to empty than the pull off tops. It has a 10 sheet capacity, but I always shred less to be safe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No thanks! This shredder was delivered to me just today. The side of the box had been previously ripped open and taped closed, but the shredder appeared to have no damage. I unpacked it, put it in my home office next to my printer table and set the shredder top onto the basket. What!?! it wobbled just sitting on the wood floor. I tried it in other locations, and it still wobbled. Mind you, this thing has no casters, but rather a flat bottom (or so I thought). I removed the shredder top and inspected the bottom of the basket. Low and behold, there was a large bulge in the bottom surface that, unless it was setting on carpet, caused the whole thing to wobble. I immediately put it back in the box and returned it to the store, without even testing how it functions. I only gave it "1's" for operating characteristics, because the system would not let me leave those fields blank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing The Fellowes Powershred 60Cs cross cut shredder does not shred 10 pages at a time even without staples or paperclips. Even with 4 pages at a time it jammed twice on the first day I used it so I spent ages clearing out the jam. The only way I could make it work properly was to shred 1 page at a time and wait for it to completely finish before inserting another sheet. Very disappointing.

I was disappointed, but less than 10 minutes on the phone, including hold time, with customer support and they are shipping a replacement. That problem doesn't show up a lot in reviews, so I can accept a fluke event. The warranty service was outstanding!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 times better than my old Staples OmniTech shredder My first shredder was a Fellowes shredder that was great and lasted for years. When it broke, I was looking for a bargain and bought a Staples OmniTech shredder with a rebate that was an offer I couldn't refuse. Though the Staples shredder was marketed as a 14-sheet shredder, it would jam when feeding only 2 sheets through. Still it lasted for years, jamming frequently, over-heating, and under-performing. When some of the plastic pieces (separating the blades) broke, I was optimistic about replacing the Staples shredder with a Fellowes. My Fellowes Powershred 60Cs shredder is 10 times better than the Staples OmniTech. Feeding 10 sheets is no problem. It's a lot less noisy than the Staples, and I can see no flaws. I've shredded several files with brief pauses, and there's been no sign of over-heating. Very pleased with this addition to my home office. Give it a shot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied Product works very well. Can run continuously for 6 minutes and unlike other shredders only requires 20 min cool down. Other models I have used require 30-minute cool downs. I would recommend this model.
