Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feedback HP pushes their instant ink program, which sounds great at first. However, with ever changing demands it doesn't work for us. I canceled and went back to purchasing ink direct as needed. It's very clear HP goes out of their way to make it difficult to purchase ink direct as they aggressively push the instant ink program forcing you to jump though many hoops to buy direct. HP needs to understand the general consumer understands your motivation, you make a lot more money when you add up cartridge returns and profit from customers like me with ever changing business demands. If you keep forcing customers to do business your way you will ultimately lose. Wake up!

The shipping was immediate and the ordering process was so simple that I was finished after only a few keystrokes! HP has obviously made ordering their products on-line “a piece of cake”!- The ink cartridges, themselves, pop right into the printer and jump into action! They can be installed quickly and within a few minutes, the new print ink makes the printer operational. Again, another fast and easy solution provided to us by HP!!!

It scans up to 12” x17”, but the bad news is that it picks up the rough paper from watercolor and then I’m fighting with it to get back to white background without losing saturation. It has two paper drawers, but the bad news is that you can’t have different paper in the other one and choose to print from it.

The toner does not last that long (even for the XL version) and it is extremely pricey. Cartridges are supposed to print so many pages...I find that the cartridges empty sooner than advertised - but I do full color pages even though I only print occasionally. Not all cartridges come in XL, which is irritating. XL cartridges cost a fortune.

I didn’t check out the ink cartridges beforehand. They are tiny compared to my last printer and last 3 months at best instead of 6-8. They do not come anywhere near the estimated number of pages as HP suggests. Already have issues with the printer. Very disappointed and my last HP purchase.

They arrived super quick but when I introduced them to the printer, even though its the same size, it showed me a notification saying that these cartridges didn't work on the printer.... It sometimes doesn't print until sometimes randomly, days later and usually I'm not even that lucky. I've mainly been using it as a scanner which it does great at but I wish I could rely on it more.

I would like to cancel my arrangement with HPInk so that I can purchase ink at a store and use those cartridges rather than have my printer held hostage and useless until I order from you all online. I have expensive cartridges I bought locally and my printer won’t accept them. I can’t enroll in HP ink because you don’t carry cartridges for my model. I’m about to through it out and buy and Epson.

Sometimes I have been happy; sometimes I have NOT been happy because of dry cartridges. It may cost a little bit more to buy the ink directly from HP, but I have never been disappointed. Also, it arrives very quickly from HP. The discounted ink could take a week or much more.

But I'm almost paying the price of a printer every time I buy ink. It's also aggravating that HP Instant Ink is not available for this model. Great printer. Great ink. But costly and inconvenient.

With one cartridge, there is no way all the colors are going to go low at the same time. Then you are throwing out unused ink.

The site recommended that I get HP952 as a sub. I did and they were twice as big as the 910 I needed. HP is out of stock (maybe because of pandemic), so I've had to scout around for the right no. Hopefully, this will straighten out soon.

From what your monitoring shows me you know that my Black cartridge is only half empty where my color cartridges are almost empty. I did not see a option to order only the color cartridges. Next time I will be looking either at the store or on line for the three pack of color cartridges unless you offer them as a alternative on your site.

The only reasons I do not give a five star rating are; 1-the cost. I got my 8710 multifunction printer for a very reasonable cost. I know the purpose of that low price is made up by the higher cost of replacement cartridges. However I would rather pay a little more for the printer and less for the ink afterwards. 2-the fact that when one printer cartridge runs out even if it is color it will not allow you to print just in Black. I know there are sometimes hacks around this issue however I would not want to risk damaging my printer performing a hack.

Attempting to get an answer from HP yet as contacting someone, even with email etc. is not an easy task. They are still higher than Best Buy, etc, however you get overnight shipping for free.

Even though my hp printer was on, my desktop consistently would give me the "offline" error message. I tried to uninstall it and then re-install it to make it stop happening. In the process, they asked me to sign up for "instant ink" the automatic re-order system. In my repeated efforts to install the printer I think I ended up putting myself on the re-order system more than once. So I have a lot of ink now for a printer that still usually gives me an "offline" error everytime I want to print.

I had brand new ones (bought a pack of them) that I could not use because they were “expired” and the printer won’t allow them to be used. Be aware that you will be forced to buy additional expensive cartridges if you don’t use them as fast as HP wants.

My HP Office Jet Pro 8710 would not accept the ink cartridges and I was told I had my printer was could not be fixed and I should buy a new one. So, I was not able to use the color cartridges. Because I had opened the cartilages box, I was also told that I could not return it for a refund. When I called to order the cartridges, the HP sales representative told me that I could return the unused cartridges if I could not use them, even though I had opened the box. Disappointing experience, at best.

There is a sticker inside the printer that I found saying to use 954, although I can't find those anywhere. I spent 2 hours on chat with tech support yesterday trying to reset the printer to use the 952 to no avail. So the tech support person decided to send me new 952 cartridges. I don't think this is going to work, but we'll see.

The ink is too expensive. And doesn't print the 1500 sheets there Claiming. Otherwise, HP is a good product, except being very expensive and unreasonable. I know we have a capitalist country and everybody wants to rip off each other. But I think HP should be cheaper because they're not producing anything inside United States. And it should have some social skills to help communities in this time.

I had plenty of black ink but would not print at all. I ordered cartridges from you. It said one to eight days for delivery. After four days of waiting, I gave up on you and ordered cartridges from Amazon. I got them the next day. Luckily I ordered a full set of colors, because then it wanted magenta. I had printed nothing since the original problem had presented itself. Shaq O'Neill is advertising an Eco Printer that uses bottles of ink. I think Shaq has my back. What a disappointment HP has become.

I ordered a total of five ink cartridges at the same time and HP took four shipments to get them to me, duplicating one of the items and omitting one that I had ordered. I had to re-order and wait for that cartridge, which was the one I needed most. I still haven't heard from you with regard to that error.

I had over $100 of ink on hand and I could not use it because it said the chips were expired!!! Being retired and on a budget, I bought a knockoff brand that WAS compatable with my HP printer BUT you have since blocked the use of non-HP Carthages. So, after spending $180 on ink wasted, I had to spend more to be able to print!

The annoying thing is that I only needed to replace one cartridge according to the printer, until I replaced it. All of a sudden nothing would work until a second was replaced--did it really lose 20% of its ink without printing anything? As soon as the 2nd was replaced, the printer would not work until the 3rd color was replaced even though minutes before it was okay. I am very unhappy with HP for its ink handling.

Also, seems like the printer indicates cartridges are low or out before they actually are. Once I replace a cartridge that was indicated out of ink (other cartridges being ok), the printer will indicate that other cartridges need to be replaced.

I spent way too much time trying to locate a human being from HP I could speak with to remedy this issue. I couldn't print from my PC but my wife was able to print wirelessly from her MAC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why does an ink cartridge need a microchip? Absolute junk! Half of the chips on the ink didn’t work so the HP app kept saying 2 of the 3 brand new cartridges were empty. An hour with tech support led them to send me replacements which took over a week to receive. I miss the days when ink was just ink and you could replace them without dealing with software and hardware issues.
