Bring wired network connectivity to a laptop with the HP USB-C Dock G5. It has a 15-watt data and power-out USB Type-C® port for charging mobile devices. This HP USB-C Dock G5 docking station has four USB 3.0 ports for charging and connecting peripherals. Two DisplayPort™ outputs and an HDMI® 2.0 port connect to monitors and projectors for screen mirroring. Featuring a lock slot (lock available separately), the HP EliteBook G5 docking station supports secure device storage on retail counters and communal offices. The docking station works with a variety of laptops, including HP and MacBook® models.

With an RJ-45 port, this HP Elite X2 G5 docking station lets users connect to wired networks. The device has a compact design that saves space on the desk. A black finish on this unit raises the aesthetics in the office. This dock has a combo audio jack for linking a computer to external audio devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Connectivity Hub I got this product because my new HP computer only came with a few I/O ports and I needed to connect multiple monitors as well as a few accessory devices to get my work station up and going. I like the size of the hub at 5"x5" but the issue comes with hiding the power cable and block. Not too much of a big deal but it's kinda in the way and makes the back of my desk messy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Dock I am extremely happy with this dock. I also use a ThinkPad with a ThinkPad dock, and the HP laptop and dock is such a better system. It's weird to consider this, but connect-ability will likely influence future laptop purchases for my team. Highly recommend.

One cord to my laptop and I have all of my peripherals neatly out of the way without having to plug in a bunch of different things every morning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Awesome Dock! I received this HP USB-C Dock G5 and was finally able to try it out for a week. My thoughts are simple: this product works as intended, the product has a durable feel, and all the necessary components and wires were included. I've always wanted a USB-C laptop dock but just couldn't justify getting from an unknown brand. However, that all changed with the HP branded dock. I really love the lightweight feel and thought that the dock was the appropriate size considering all the different attachments that you can add. Usually, docks are bulkier and contain more components that may be connected to but the price is unnecessarily huge. Anyhow, I feel that this is a good dock that I will use for a long while yet because it has all the connections that I need. No unnecessary fluff. I definitely enjoyed using the dock and my wife loves it as well. I think what could be improved upon this dock is probably a power brick that is built into the unit itself or improving the power output. Another thing is probably more colors to choose from. I am a huge fan of customization so the limited colors available might be a problem. I didn't take any stars off for it though because I understand that colors may not be the most important for a simple USB-C dock. I love using this dock and you will enjoy it too! Again, this product works as designed and I can't really find any faults besides what I have already mentioned. So overall, I would like to thank the manufacturer for providing such an amazing dock and I hope to get more HP products in the future.

I have 2 monitors connected up via the HDMI and Display ports with no issues and able to plug my Ethernet cable right into instead of using WIFI for faster speeds. No issues with the USBC connection. No lag in speed or with display.

What’s really nice about this dock is it is a built-in, all in one connection for my MacBook, USB, ports, HDMI cable, Ethernet, etc. If I need to be away from my charger, it has enough power to keep my laptop powered. You can plug in your second monitor or monitors for a professional setup at home. It’s all in one for all your electronic needs (phone, mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc.

I needed a way to connect my HP work laptop to my two home monitors, but most docking stations/drivers I found online required installing software, which I am not allowed to do on my work computer. I bought this because it's also an HP product, hoping no installations would be necessary, and I was right. I just plugged it in and it just worked immediately! Plenty of space on the dock to plug in both monitors, a mouse, keyboard, and my headset. It also charges my laptop, meaning I can leave my charger at the office. I love this thing!

I previously used a dongle on my laptop with multiple cords going in and out, and had to wiggle it just right to have the HDMi work on my monitor. This docking station eliminates all of that. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic doc plenty of ports!! I got this doc originally because I wanted to connect my monitor to my ultrabook and needed some sort of solution. This has been perfect with no latency issues for video output. I even now run a ethernet connection to the doc so my system isn't completely reliant on the wifi signal. Also, I travel frequently for work; this doc is amazingly portable and I can bring it with me and plug it in no matter where I am on the go. Highly recommend this doc for anyone who works from home or travels frequently yet still needs plenty of connections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dock with plenty of ports I've gone through a bunch of unpowered USB-C adaptors, but the trouble is that it ends up being yet another device with a tonne more cables attached to it. What I love with this USB-C Dock is that you can get rid of many of those cables, adaptors, and plugs. At 100W it can power your laptop meaning you can leave your laptop charger at home (or at work.) The cube is slightly bigger than I expected - it's about twice as tall and a little larger than a Macbook Pro charger, and quite a bit heavier so it's not going to be something I carry around, but rather leave plugged in at my workstation so I DON'T my charger around.) That said it's still relatively compact compared to other models. I plugged in my mouse, keyboard and monitor, everything worked seamlessly. I didn't have a second monitor in my home setup but you can actually power up to 3 screens with this unit (there are two DisplayPort connectors and one HDMI port.) I love that there are four USB 3.0 connectors) two on the side, two on the back. I'm sure as is the case with most of us, in addition to a mouse and keyboard we usually have a bunch of phones and devices to charge as well. I like this enough I plan to get another one so I can leave one at home and one at work! While there are cheaper models out there they usually have less ports and plugs and lower power to the system, so it's worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice USB dock Highly recommend this dock if you have a permanent workstation. My macbook doesn't work with many docs bc Mac doesn't like to play nice with peripherals. However this one connected just fine and I was able to connect my monitor no problem. It was having issues with my second monitor though so I don't know whats is the deal. Overall it looks great at for 1 monitor works like a champ. Highly recommended and I don't need extra USB port fixtures plus it looks really sleek

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Docking Station Display Port support 4K at 30 Hz I have a HP zBook BANG & OLUFSEN laptop and recently hooked up a HP G5 Thunderbolt docking station #5TW10UT#ABA. All is well except the 2 Display Ports support 4K at 30 Hz NOT 60 Hz. This kinda sucks. My previous 6.5 year old docking station and laptop supported 4K at 60 Hz. It also doesn't charge the laptop very fast, since its driving power through the USB type-C connector. Other than these two items, the docking station is great. The LAN, two USB, work well. Size and form factor are nice. I like the USB type-C connector rather than the convention hard dock I had previously. I guess I wish the USB type-C cable was longer so I could place the docking station further away, and hide it and the cables from sight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I needed a dock for my new HP Spectre x360 that would allow me to connect an external keyboard, mouse, and 2 monitors. I tried another brand and, while it worked, required software to be installed and caused some intermittent freezing/stuttering. I decided to give this dock a try and it works perfectly without the need for additional software with no freezing or stuttering. What's also great about it is it works with my work (HP) laptop as well, so I'm able to swap out laptops as the need arises.

I also homeschool my children so it is imperative to maintain a clean and accessible environment for both my career and my children’s’ education. The HP USB-C dock is a lifesaver! I am able to add our accessories and equipment without making the desktop appear cluttered. I also utilize two displays so I can work and follow through with their progress online. The dock conveniently has display ports as well as HDMI 2.0 as well as multiple USB 3.0 slots (I can charge my phone!) I love that I can plug my workstation directly into this dock and not have to use my regular charging cable thus cutting down on the mess of wires. It is compact and very sleek. I am enjoying this dock thus far and will be sure to update again in the near future!

The compact 5 x 5 design saves me plenty of space while providing more than enough power for my laptop and external display. I currently have one screen but am looking to add more so I can utilize the single cable solution! Also a nice touch that this works with macbooks as well as windows notebooks.

Subsequently, utilizing multiple monitors is necessary at times. The HP USB-C Dock G5 works nicely with all three computers. Simple plug and play as the saying goes. Switching between monitors with this is a breeze and having 4 High Speed USB ports is nice addition. Overall am quite please with this.

I purchased this Dock and guess what...none of my monitors are detected by the laptop. I took my entire station to 2 PC stores for them to evaluate, and I received the same answer for both, this Docking Station is for Business Laptops? Why would I be advised to buy this from HP? As of this moment, I am unsure to what is the right docking station is for this laptop.

Everything powers up immediately with this new HP docking station. I also like the small footprint and multiple USB ports, including USB-C on the front. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but hopefully it turns out to be durable, because I use it every day for work.

I'm running a new HP Spectre X360 with the laptop + 2 HP monitors. My first USB-C dock (another brand) was cheaper, but would freeze my extra displays (with the correct setup and drivers). HP to the rescue! I purchased the new G5 dock and had it up and running in less than 10 minutes, including configuration.

To make sure I purchased the correct units I contacted HP sales support with the model number of the laptops. The two monitors work, but the laptop does not charge the laptop. To have a charging dock you need the duo dock that has a separate charging cable. Return was super easy.

With just one single USB-C connection needed on my Macbook Pro, this dock gets me all the ports I need. I no longer have to carry around all my extra dongles. They organized the new hub for better access and replaced the old plunger-type full top-plate on-off with a real button. No more accidental turning everything off by incidental touching the top of the unit. Now with an improved slimmer profile, and plug-and-play with no additional downloads or re-configurations.

Able to add second screen by repurposing an old monitor with VGA connection using a simple Display Port to VGA adapter off Amazon. Just plug in my laptop from a USB connection and two monitors, scanner, network connection all just work. Just get one, you'll love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some very good features, but poor documentation A good assortment of essential ports, and it works well when it is finally set up. But the design of the connection to the adapter and the lack of documentation cost me many hours, since it was impossible to find where to plug it in without the documentation that tech support had, but the product team did not see fit to provide to the customer. It's such a strange design (the adapter port is hidden in a T-shaped configuration on the bottom) that the first support person told me the adapter was for a different computer and to just not use it (huh? no power!). I was ready to return the dock as useless until the second support call was handled by a representative who was able to figure out that there MUST be a way to get power to the device. She finally consulted the documentation she had, found the port, and saved the day. So the lack of documentation for this product was a major problem. If I had it, I wouldn't have spent hours trying to figure it out before I spent several more hours on the phone. I had a similar problem with the Active Pen, which I have been unable to use. I opened a support case that is still unresolved. So I can't say I'm thrilled with my experience with HP accessories, but now that I have it set up, the dock does work well. My Dragonfly is an outstanding computer, and so far the documentation for that computer has been excellent. But the lack of useful information about the accessories really lets the designers of my wonderful new HP computer down. Please try to do better.

I have used this kind of product before, but cannot connect Macbook pro and ASUS laptop with Windows version, but I need to switch between two laptops. When I used this HP G5 dock, it can help connect my two monitors and accessories, such as my cell phone charger and apple watch, and even I have conference video call, and it still works perfect. I do not need to interrupt any services when switching different services, and also my laptop run very fast. This is very important for my job. I really enjoy this HP G5 with USB C/Thunderbolt ports, and the installation is also super easy, and I put on top of my stand, and it looks elegant. I am ready to purchase another one to replace my old doc at home.

I really like the fact that this dock charges my computer while connected. I initially experienced some difficulty with my monitors not automatically detecting a video signal upon connecting, which was easily solved by updating to the latest Intel HD 620 display driver (via HP Support - Drivers & Software, as my IT department doesn’t deploy the latest drivers as released). Works perfectly! No flickering or disconnection that I had previously experienced with other docking solutions.

I need dual monitor setup, that is why i bought this hardware.I have two monitors DellU2719D, which have native resolution 2560x1440px. Both conneced to dock. On one monitor is native resolution but on other only 1920x1080 30Hz-flickering. Something is not working as it shoud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not purchase for dual external monitors! I bought this docking station to connect my hp elitebook laptop to two hp external monitors. Works great for one monitor, but when I connect the second hp monitor, I get a limited resolution of 1280x1024 resulting in a blurry image on the second monitor. HP tried to send me a replacement dock, but had the same results. Only fix I can find that works it to connect the second monitor directly to my laptop, which defeats the purpose of having a docking station but I'm not sure what else to do otherwise my second monitor is worthless. I've wasted several hours waiting on hold with customer service and researching online how to resolve this issue. Hope my post saves you the buyer's remorse and/or your own frustration.

I bought the HP USB-C Dock G5, because the slim HP docking station I borrowed from work didn't work with my new HP Pavilion 27 QD monitor (my work-provided laptop is an HP Elitebook 830 G5). Since I bought a new docking unit, I went ahead and purchased another monitor just like my first one. But guess what? The HP USB-C Dock G5 can only support one of my new monitors at maximum resolution; the other monitor could only work at a lower resolution--which was practically useless to work with. Anyhow, I guess it's my fault for not reading the fine print of the specs, if it was spelled out in the document (but I don't remember seeing anything about its limitation when I read about it on HP's online store; otherwise I would have not purchased it at all. HP has a documentation on how to fix the problem, which I followed, but it didn't solve the problem because the requirement involved changing something in my laptop's BIOS that didn't even exist in my laptop to begin with. I plan to keep the unit nonetheless and I plan to give it to a needy relative, who probably don't mind working with inferior/dull monitors.

Being an IT professional I have multiple devices that I need to be able to hook up to dual displays and also have access to multiple accessories. I have used 2 other similar docks and had trouble switching between my MacBook Pro and Dell Windows 10 base laptop. Often various external devices would not connect correctly interrupting my conference calls etc. I am happy to say I have had ZERO issues when docking both of my devices with this HP G5 dock! It quickly powers on and just flat out works every time. This is a huge win for my daily hectic schedules which makes me an absolutely happy and satisfied customer! I will also be swapping out the 2 docks I have in place at my office with just 1 new HP G5 dock. If you are in the market for a USB-C dock I strongly suggest you give this device a try. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed you did!

It is exactly what my desk needed to help organize all my cables, monitors, etc. I work in software and spend 10+ hours a day at my desk so having a tool like this to help consolidate all my displays as well as charge my laptop? That is freaking awesome. No more bringing my charger or adapters to work everyday to then unpack every night. Cosmetically, it also looks great on my desk under my monitor. Has a very low profile light that illuminates when plugged in to a device. USBC is 1m in length and seems to be very sturdy of a cable. Can't wait to get some more gadgets and maximize it to the fullest potential. Thanks HP! Side note: I primarily use a MacBook and it works great with it.

I use this with a ZBook G6 and it is convenient to only have to plug in the thunderbolt cable to connect keyboard, mouse, network, two monitors, headset, and power. The driver could use some improvement since the screens flash three times when waking up from sleep and sometimes only one wakes up. Generally though, it works well enough.

Worked very well with HP driving 2 external displays from either 2 displayport or 1 displayport & 1 HDMI. MacBook was able to drive both displays (extended) only when one was connected via DisplayPort and the other was connected using a USB-C to HDMI adapter. Dock was able to charge both laptops from single Thunderbolt connector. Exceptional quality. Five stars!

Using best practices, I was always making sure my laptop was logged off so I didn't "hot dock" which was either a thing or it wasn't, depending on which IT professional I was speaking to. This thing is SO much simpler. It takes up about as much room as a CD case, and it was seriously plug & play right out of the box. I didn't have to download any drivers, and I had all the cords I needed. I do wonder why HP chooses to use the display port connectors, since they can be hard to find especially since many monitors have HDMI ports only. That would mean you have to buy an HDMI to DisplayPort cable, but I had them anyway so it's fine.

I purchased the dock from HP and it worked perfectly. I tried to purchase from Amazon, but it did not work, so buy direct from HP. An unexpected benefit is that the USB ports are powered even if my laptop is not attached, so I can use them to charge my iPhone and iPad at any time. I do wish you could decide the angle the USB-C cable comes out at. It limits placement options.

The audio output is excellent and I prefer to use it rather than my PC's audio headphone jack because the quality is much better. The build quality is solid. It's like a tank. The power supply/brick is large, but what would you expect for 100W juice from your dock?

It arrived before the laptop and after talking with a couple of computer nerds and reading the reviews I wasn't sure I would keep it. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and set up with the addition of a desktop monitor. This makes up for the lack of ports on the laptop allowing me to plug in what I need to plug in and making use of the HDMI port for my monitor without plugging and unplugging things Now I can keep the portable usb I have for use when traveling. For me it was worth the investment.

Do I have a defective product? I got this product so that I would only have to plug in 1 cable when I dock my laptop. The battery on the top right shows it's charging but it's actually it's not. Rated 5 out of 5 by from DOESNT CHARGE-NOT DOCK So i wouldnt call any of these 'docks' coming from the old one that charge and connect all peripherals. Just because your laptop shows up on their list of compatible devices DOES NOT mean its all you need. My desire was to have a HP ZBook 17 G6 Mobile Workstation hooked up at work and home for a user. And the ONLY thing needed was the laptop in both places. The user could use the charger that came with the laptop and laptop itself at home.. and at work they only needed to plug 1 wire (usb c) into the laptop. This is not how it works (as it did with the old 2013 slimdocks) With these you will need to buy ANOTHER charger that plugs into the laptop AND the usb for all the peripherals. This 'dock' and others come with a 120W charger standard and give no option for another, also this fact that they are 120w is NOWHERE on this site. One would think in the general page or the SPECS it would be. My laptops are all 200w. So obviously it wont charge while docked. If I could rate lower for the customer service i would. a few emails and many calls of simply being bounced back and forth from HP tech support to HP Store Sales because no one would accept the task of assisting me to get the required wattage or explain why its considered 'compatible' on the list if no power supply choices are given for higher 'compatible' systems.

It came in great packaging that kept it safe during its long journey, and when hooked up to my ProBook 450 G6 and my peripherals I can turn everything on with the push of a button. And when using Windows 10's display settings I can use both screens to expand my workspace. My take on it is that I can have a video on my monitor and my work, such as Email, on the laptop. All in all, it's a great way to do things! That's a fact.

Problem is, that graphics where not compatible with my laptop so I had to cancel the replacement and return the deffective all together. The station does look great and seems to do the job just fine, but sadly I couldn't actually test it since it wasn't compatible. Make sure you check if your computer displays through C dock before you buy!

I have noticed that, when my laptop is connected to the docking station, the internal laptop microphone will not be recognized. For some reason the docking station wants to control the audio, so when there is no mic plugged into the docking station, the computer will register that the mic is “unplugged” and the audio input won’t work. Maybe a software issue that should be addressed.

They were wrong. Apparently my notebook uses USB-C only as an alternate power source and is not set up to pass audio/video signals via USB-C. To make matters worse, when I tried to return it, HP's website told me it was ineligible for return and refused to give me a return authorization. Moral of the story: Before buying this dock, check your computer's compatibility carefully. My rating is a composite: I give it five stars for features and zero for usefulness to me - at least until I buy a new notebook.

I was told by HP that the StarTech was not compatible so I had to buy an HP docking station. The G5 was one of their recommendations. Did not work. Spent an hour with tech support today updating drivers and it still doesn't work. HP tech said it's a known issue that recent windows updates suddenly make docking stations stop working, but there is no resolution. He suggested I take the laptop to Best Buy and test it on docking stations. What a joke.

Plugged into USB-C on Spectre and my new LG UHD 4K monitor using the DisplayPort. Worked great for 3 days and for no apparent reason the DisplayPorts and HDMI just quit working :-(. Ethernet and USB ports continued to function. Updated firmware to no avail. Called support - they suggested an exchange. RMA in process and waiting for new dock to arrive. Hoping the replacement will last.

Once I got these docks the issues went away. Fair amount of connections and I like that it has 2 options for monitors. You get what you pay for and these are buy and forget because you shouldn't have any issues.

It works with newer HP laptops that have USB-C ports that are capable of Power Distribution (PD), so it's convenient that the dock can provide pass-through power to a new HP laptop. Unfortunately, the HDMI and Display Ports to connect external monitors don't work with non-HP laptop brands. So, I had to return the dock.

It appeared from the description we would be able to solve a couple of problems. We wanted to turn the laptops power on with their lid closed using the Docks power switch. We also wanted to be rid of the power cord charging the laptop while in use. The Laptops USB-C input isn't taking any input power from the Dock & there's no switching the laptop power on using the Dock. In addition, the Dock is not providing any video to the external display. Most everything else works, but we're still messing with plugging in the display & power cord in addition to the USB-C on the Laptop. We haven't had a response to Case#5074073132 yet.

I checked the power cord to make sure it was functioning. The station itself is dead on arrival. What a waste of time setting up my desk then finding out the station is non-functioning. It drives two external monitors. My laptop is thunderbolt, but I guess that probably saved me some licencing fee money in the purchase price with dock not being certified. No hiccups. Just always works! And it stays cool to the touch, not a coffee warmer like my previous dock :).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multiple Monitors is a fiddle My work provided the dock. I use 3 DELL monitors (1x HDMI, 1x VGA, 1 x Displayport each) connected to my Dell Latitude 5400 laptop. I have noted (and experienced) the limited resolution when using the docks HDMI port, and wish it had 3 x HDMI. My solution was to get IT to provide 2 x DP to HDMI cables and unfortunately live with the minor inconvenience of the using laptop HDMI port for the 3rd monitor. (when using the G5 dock HDMI and 2 x DP's the HDMI resolution is restricted). We also tried 2 x Display port to display port cables and the HDMI to HDMI (the way the dock is designed so you would think it would work) but the HDMI resolution is still limited. This has to ba a consequence of the laptop video card not being able to drive 3 monitors or a limitation of the dock to pass through 3 display signals. I suspect the latter because the the laptop IS driving 3 displays when connected as I describe. It is a little inconvenient in not beibng able to use the dock in the manner it was designed with 3 display outputs.

I worked for a day before the battery on their computer died an forced us to buy a new computer, the other worked for 2 weeks before causing the same issue with the 2nd computer. I was told I can’t return them because it’s over 30 days even though we didn’t take them out of the box for 2 weeks. All in all we are out 400 for the docks and 1800 for new computers that are not compatible with them now.

I learned that my personal HP Laptop does not support external monitors or charging through the USB-C connection. The solution is to have 4 connections into my laptop instead of one. The reason I was told is that my laptop is for consumer use, and the Dock is for commercial applications.

I use it for 2 27 HP Monitors, 1 HP laptop, logitech USB keyboard and Mouse. It does not need to be HP products for it to work. ease of just plugging in USB C to laptop and automatically connect to internet and all devices

Do not rely on HP to guide you properly on which Doc stations are compatible with your HP laptop as they themselves are not certain. I won't even begin to explain the inconvenience that I'm now experiencing with HP in an effort to correct their own faults and take accountability for their misguided direction!!!!!!!

Since I'm an HP laptop owner I gravitated to an HP product this time and so far I am very pleased with my choice. Worked flawlessly and immediately from the get go. Just what I needed and is nice and compact.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and Reliable Dock This dock is reliable, easy to install, has many ports to connect up to 3 monitors and a great deal of USB ports, including a USB-C port. I like that it is small which makes it ideal to transport between home and office. There is only one little option I wish we had on the dock, an extra HDMI port as it only has one HDMI port.

Also because I can turn on and turn off the laptop from the docking station. I keep my laptop lid closed and it is connected to a double screen monitors. So it is worth a price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not appear to work with HP Envy 360 laptops I have a Z-Book for work and an Envy 360 for personal use. I now discover that the USB-C G5 dock doesn't seem to work with the Envy laptop. This is a huge limitation unless there is something I'm doing wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This dock not as good as the former slim-dock The doc only has two Display port connections, so if using a monitor with VGA, you will need an adaptor. Also, I am connected through a network data cable, but the dock kept dropping the connection, so I had to connect the laptop directly to the network and use the dock for my monitors (with adaptors), scanner, and mouse/keyboard

Love the simplicity if offers along with the very comprehensive feature set and small package. Has simplified my office setup and portability as well.

Oh, and the dock did everything we needed it to on an EliteBook 840 G7 with dual external monitors, 100% plug+play, no headaches. Expensive for a dock, but totally worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unreliable We have around 24 of these in the office and they all exhibit the same issues. 1) The LAN port will randomly stop sending or receiving packets during use. 2) Monitors connected to the display ports will randomly not wake from sleep. The issues appear to be related to the dock's power management.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comprehensive hub, but has some issues with USB-A Works great as a hub for my peripherals, but does not always connect the USB-A devices (keyboard and mouse). For reference, I use this to switch between my laptop and desktop. It seems to work fine with the desktop, so there's a chance the USB-A issue is with my HP laptop rather than the hub itself.

One USB-C Thunderbolt cable to the HP laptop is all that is needed to drive 2 27 inch monitors, wireless mouse & keyboard, webcam, and a USB thumb drive. The cable also maintains a charge on the laptop and all that is needed is a single touch to the power button on the dock to wake the system.

Seems to be a common problem. Disappointed as it was a great piece of kit when it worked

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and Travel Friendly The size is very compact is great for travelers, and comes with enough I/O ports for monitors, ethernet, headset, and other USB peripherals. The cable connection to the laptop is very sturdy, but it is not removeable for travel, and the straight usb male plug forces the cord to make a long loop or bend to the docking station (more of a design element). The computer connection cable is long which makes it well suited for larger desks where it can be placed farther away and out of sight, but for a smaller desk like mine, I have it next to my laptop, and therefore can see all the cables connected to it, compared to my old docking station where the cables stretched behind my laptop monitor. There are advantages I enjoyed with the earlier docking station design that made it more comfortable to use in the office, as it took less desk space since the laptop sat on top of most of it. Both designs work well in different ways, and hp design is clean and sleek.

Replacing the stupid 1m cable attached internally fixed it. For something that's so expensive, I would expect the most-used part of it to be reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Compatible with Macbook for Dual Screen Was not fully compatible with my Macbook due to the Screen duplication but i guess its my fault and should have gone for the Thunderbolt Dock instead of Type C. Have a work around for that and its an amazing device all round
