It attaches easily, is USB powered, and has an on/off rotary switch and volume control. A small green LED light shows you that the speaker is on. All controls are on the right end of the speaker, so being right handed helps. I like the fact that I can turn the speaker completely off when I do not want any sound at all. The speaker hangs under the monitor, easily accessible, but effectively out of the way.
