When plugging your HP® Business Notebook into a standard outlet, the HP 65W Smart AC Adapter allows you to conserve its battery life. The laptop adapter manages this by detecting and regulating the right electrical current. You plug one end of the HP 65W smart AC adapter into your notebook or docking station and the other into an outlet. The laptop adapter is compatible with just about every HP laptop, including Chromebooks, Elitebooks, ProBooks, Zbooks, and Convertible PC. This HP 65W smart AC adapter comes with an additional piece, dongle, that is thicker than the regular charging plug. Also, the HP notebook adapter even offsets and regulates electrical spikes and reduces cable stress. This ideal AC laptop adapter is an absolute model as a back-up for travel or everyday use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better than OEM chargers I have bought "off brand" AC adapters before for our HP laptops and they never last like the HP factory adapters. The quality of the HP adapters are so much better than aftermarket. I learned my lesson by saving a few pennies and buying the off board a couple times but I 've learned my lesson and now only by the HP brand AC adapters for our corporate HP laptops. The biggest problem I have is with my users leaving them in conference rooms or at home and then ask for another one. They aren't as cheep as the off brand adapters but it's worth the cost to get the higher quality adapters.

I let my HP laptop battery drain completely, and the "replacements" that can be obtained from Walmart, Amazon and the like, for a nominal fee, are unable to provide anything except a momentary charge. So I thought I would go to the source, HP! I ordered another "replacement," not the actual charger that comes with the laptop (because they were not in stock). It, too, is not able to charge the laptop... so I will have to replace the laptop. I'm going to be sending this $65 paperweight back because, thankfully, HP does allow returns and refunds!

The original adapter had a two part junction that was bound to break This looks the same but the junction is covered and protected. I can't imagine why HP went so cheap with the original because it must hurt their reputation. I will certainly reconsider buying HP again because of this. JUst raise the price to cover a better adapter to begin with.

When I plugged in a cheap one from Amazon a communication box came up telling me that the cheap adapter wouldn’t support my laptop as well as an HP adapter. Funny thing…the same message comes up every time I plug in my official HP adapter that was not cheap.
