Product Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by 2reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good drive, but beware of USB 3.0 I like the one piece sliding design, it makes it impossible to lose the cap. The unit feels pretty solid, not flimsy at all. I never worried that I was going to break it during insertions. Kingston's 5 year warranty is pretty painless to use, although as you can guess, I only found out after the product failed. Mine started acting up after about a year, and died completely at about 18 months. My big complaint about this unit is one that I could have avoided with a little research. While the device says it is a USB 3.0 compliant device, it does not hit those speeds on my Dell Optiplex 9010 with USB 3.0 ports. Reading up on Newegg reviews, lots of people mention this, and a Kingston rep. is quick to reply that the device is merely "USB 3.0 compatible," while pointing people towards a much more expensive product line if they want the speeds claimed by the USB 3.0 standard. Not the end of the world, because it's not a bad unit for the cost, but why mislead people? Who buys a USB 3.0 device over a USB 2.0 device for any reason that isn't speed. April 17, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Avoid These We got 5 of these. None of them "wrote" at more than 5MB/s. These things are slower than the cheapo 1gb usb2.0 drives we give away at conventions.I actually called their tech support, and did a warranty replacement on all 5. The replacements are equally bad. It's a $10 dollar item, so not the end of the world.I did find a use for them. I hand them out to people I don't like when they ask me for a USB drive. August 13, 2013
