Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok with a few kinks The 65W AC Adapter was purchased as the first adapter had gotten bent where it connects to the laptop. In addition, these type of adapter, which are rectangularly in shape (as opposed to round would seem more apt to get bent or broken off. However, with that said, it is the type that is used by Lenovo and thus what I needed to make sure I was covered in saving battery life. The other adapter, though bent, is still usable.

This difference was not made clear in the web page technical specifications.

Unfortunately the charging cable failed recently and he wasn't able to charge his laptop. I went to Best Buy's and was told they didn't carry replacements, but directed me to the Lenovo website. Using the model number, I was able to find a replacement in just a few minutes and ordered it. The cable arrived a few days later and we plugged it in to his laptop. It started charging his computer instantly without any complications. I was very pleased with how easy it was to find and get a critical component of his system and allow him to return to using his Lenovo without significant downtime. Normally, I would buy a second one for backup, specially since we both have and use the same model laptop, but it was so quick and easy to obtain the part that I decided to take a wait and see position.

The 65W definitely charges my laptop faster (by atleast an hour) and it doesn’t heat up as much as my old one. I had a hard time finding the right model of adapter but after talking to an agent online, I had all my questions answered and got what I was looking for.

Highly recommended if you shuttle your computer between home and work. Note that the AC adapter must match your power receptacle, and I accidentally ordered the wrong one. I was happy to find this compatible unit, and it shipped out to me quickly enough that I didn't experience any downtime with my laptop. The new adapter works perfectly, and I expect it will have no problem lasting until I upgrade to a new USB-C equipped laptop.

I would say the failure highlighted the absence of any power indicater light that would have made the problem easier to diagnose. The replacement sadly retains that simple design flaw. Since the adapter was of an unusual plug configuration that wasn't readily available from a friend, my workplace or even a local computer shop, I was forced to fly blind in buying a new adapter in order to diagnose that the problem indeed was the adapter. It then took >2 weeks to arrive.

No order number was generated, or email sent, and no product was shipped or received. Yet somehow Lenovo sent me "Review Your Purchase" emails for the product (which means they had a record with my email associated with purchasing that product) Upon contacting Lenovo they couldn't help me without an order number. Buyer beware.
