Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay, not great. Works, but seems very old school. With the expansion port on the bottom of my ThinkPad, the docking station forces the laptop to sit up higher, angled down, and the laptop doesn't way enough to actually touch the table while it's in the dock sitting at an angle. My palms force the laptop front edge to the table, but that twists the whole laptop when I only have one palm at a time. Not ideal. I suppose older laptops that weight 4 lbs or more didn't have this problem. Lenovo's newer style dock is much more like HP's where the dock connector is on the side and alleviates this problem. The laptop also doesn't seem to lock well into the dock and is loose. Finally the laptop doesn't always change to projector screen only so it tried to show both the main laptop screen and the HDMI monitor plugged into the dock. It should default to dock only, but I'm hoping this is just a setting in the bios somewhere.

I use a docking station at work and knew that my home office would be much more efficient with a docking station. I now have my new personal computer tied into my printer, monitors and sound system. Very pleased.

A great example is when I have to constantly go to a users location to order and replace this thing because keyboard doesn't seem to stay turned on when logging into windows. Yes, I have unplugged it and replugged it but only to have it not get recognized. Keep it up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good IO Ports I've been using this docking station for over a month. I like the number of USB 2 and USB 3 ports, USB always powered on ports and the 3 Video ports. The latching system is not easy to get it to latch with the larger optional external battery. Some times getting a X260 while docked to wake from sleep mode is difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dock with simple set up and great capacity. I purchased this dock at the same time I purchased a ThinkPad 470. I wanted the ability to expand my laptop into more of a crossover desktop and this dock was purchased for that purpose. Shipping was pretty quick and I was able to track my order throughout the process with the delivery estimate being pretty accurate.The dock was very easy to set up and is simple to use. I have two external monitors, several external hard drives, and several optical devices connected through the dock. I haven't had any speed or reliability issues using the dock to use optical devices and drives. The main problem I have with this dock is my ability to use it with the expanded nine-cell battery. This battery was added to the ThinkPad on the same order as I purchased the dock, so I assumed that the dock had the ability to take the laptop with the larger battery attached. This is not the case. While the laptop can work attached to the dock and with the larger battery, it is not securely attached and is prone to detach with a bump of my wrist. In addition, with the larger battery attached I am unable to utilize the locking function of the dock. My solution is to use the laptop on the dock but without the second battery attached. This works fine enough to ensure that the dock is securely attached and locked to the laptop, but I wish that I had the ease of sliding the laptop on and off the dock without needing to remove or attach the second battery. That being said, the dock is great and I would definitely purchase again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to T440s I purchased the Ultra Dock for the sole purpose of connecting my ThinkPad T440s to two external monitor. The docks has performed amazingly well. I am able to connected two 1920x1080 monitor to the dock using DisplayPort and continue to use the T440s monitor all at the same time. The three (3) USB 3.0 ports are great and the charging port is great for my cellphone. The dock can support up to three (3) external monitor simultaneously but one has to be VGA or it can support two (2) external and the built in display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One issue after another In addition to the monitor issues described by other reviewers I have found that certain USB hardware (usually printers, Keyboard and even a Webcam) plugged into the the USB3.0 ports on the Ultradock are causing several X240 Thinkpads to automatically boot up immediately after a controlled shutdown. As soon as the USB devices are moved to any of the 3 other USB2.0 ports the laptop will shut down successfully. The 3 Ultradocks in question have received the newest Firmware updates. The Performance and Features are good as long as you do not need to rely on those 3 extra USB3.0 ports.

I have tried different monitors and different cables, but it never fixes the flicker. When I connect a monitor through the HDMI port, there is no display at all. Don't waste your money. This thing is garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with external displays Crazy as it sounds, when you try to plug external displays into the Ultra Dock with some Lenovo laptops they sporadically flicker off and crash then come back up as if the OS is finding them for the first time. Heaps of complaints in the forums and no solution from Lenovo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for in a docking stn After reading all the reviews I was a bit apprehensive about even asking my employer to purchase this product. But I had no other choice. I use it with two monitors (vga/dvi and a Bluetooth mouse. The only reason I have had trouble with this dock is when the laptop first wakes up it takes a second for WINDOWS to recognize the devices. If you are patient (which most aren't) the dock will increase my productivity and reactive time. I suspect a lot of the issues written about in the reviews are due to the laptop not being able to handle what the user is trying to do with it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs FW update the Pro dock had the same issue with external display. FW update resolved it. Lenovo should release a product when it's ready and working. End user shouldn't have to install these updates in order for it to function as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save your money My Laptop t460P w/32 gb memory and Nvidia dGPU. When connecting monitors directly to the laptop I have no problem driving the LCD and 2 external 2K monitors. I have used many Lenovo/IBM docks over the years and never had issues. This dock says it is a pass through for the video capabilities, so you would think it would support the same as connecting directly to the laptop. Lenovo neglects to tell you in the product specifications that this dock will actual diminish your video capabilities, even if I turn off the LCD on the laptop. At best using any mixture of cables (HDMI, DVI-D, DP, VGA, etc) at best I can get LCD (full res), Monitor 1 (full 2k res @ 60hz), and Monitor 2 (1920x1200 @ 60hz). I found a document that says it will run 2k at 30hz. My monitors do not support 30hz and WHO in their right mind would run at 30hz on 2K monitors??? I have not had any of the monitor flickering problems others have reported, but for me this dock is essentially useless. For the price of the dock I expected more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good reliable product but not as good design The product is good. Lenovo always makes a good product however I believe the design is lacking. We have been experiencing poor connections in the port of the laptop and docking adapter. Users have to wiggle and undock some times to ensure a good solid connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slim design, lots of ports It's great that the dock has plenty of USB ports AND 4 different monitor port options. I port my laptop in two diff locations and I can have two different monitor preferences for each location, which I love! My one issue is that it's not immediately obvious what to do when your external monitors don't turn on (if you disconnect without shutting down, it can make it so the dock won't detect the monitors, UNLESS you push F7 key). Luckily, I found the answer online, but the instructions don't mention this as a possible solution. Other than that, I am happy with my purchase.

I am going to take it to the office to see if our IT folks can get it to work. If not, I will be returning for a refund.

Do not get any other dock because you will waste time finding adaptors and cables for your various monitor ports. This doc has everything you need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Design leaves laptop flopping when screen opened for normal use If you are using external monitor, keyboard, mouse, ie screen closed, no issue, but if you want to use the laptop screen while on the docking station it lifts the bottom up off the surface. Very annoying bouncing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lenovo goes the extra mile The 90W Ultra Dock lets me maximize the functionality of my home office by letting me have multiple monitors, a free-standing keyboard and mouse, which ends up being a better arrangement than I have in my office at work. The Lenovo personnel at their call center were extremely helpful and worked with me to ensure that I purchased the appropriate dock for my office laptop. I have decided that I will go back to Lenovo when I replace my home computer because of this experience.
