Product Reviews
Linksys EA8500 - wireless router - 802.11a/b/g/n/ac - desktop is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 190.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can do better in Parental Control Overall this router is very good. It has a lot of features I like. The purpose I bought it is mainly because of its parent control. After I went over the functionalites, I think Linksys can do better in parent control by adding keyword(in the url) blocking besieds just web site address blocking, blocking all the devices and not just one by one. One more feature better to have is the traffic(url visiting logging) monitoring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great speed, very reliable the speed on this router is very fast and constant. No disconnects, the nas part of the router is very fast, no studder or pauses. Has a lot of power to run all my wireless devices. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No guest network encryption This router/AP works well for home use, but it offers no encryption on the guest network. No way I'm going to allow an un-encrypted SSID in my house. No way I'd do that to my guests. Besides that, I wanted to use it for my kids devices to keep them off of the main network. Too bad. I liked it other than that. Now I'm looking at other options. On another note, after an update it changed all of my IPs. It went from a class C 192.X.X.X network to a class A 10.X.X.X network. I had to recreate all of my static IPs. It was a real hassle, as I have many static IPs with industrial equipment like my laser cutter/engraver and others that can't do DHCP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speed, and Range Very Happy with is router, it has been very reliable. The speed is fast and Reliable. The NAS part of the router is the fastest I have seen. My only complaint is the router doesn't support time machine backup for my Macs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Product I bought the Linksys EA8500 Max-Stream AC2600 MU-MIMO Smart Wi-Fi Router because it was an extremely capable product with a legacy of having great service for good value. I have not been disappointed either. I have plaster walls in an old home with wire mesh underneath to hold the plaster. It make my home like NSA. Very hard to have coverage of any kind due to this shielding. But the EA8500 is doing admirably and I continue to know that I made the correct choice in routers. This is the 5th Linksys router I've owned. In two words...Strong and Dependable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use to be excelent, but... Use to be great! However, since the last firmware update I am experiencing connectivity issues: the usual devices do not connect or connect but with "no internet". I changed back to the 2016 firmware and it was ok for a couple of hours. However, the issues are back again. It is a pity. I used an EA 4500 before the EA 8500 and another Linksys router before that. It used to be the best router on the marked so far.
