Rated 5 out of 5 by Best router I've owned I bought the ea8500 to replace an older failing router. Setup was a breeze. The range is fantastic and it handles multiple streaming devices without a problem. October 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worked great right out of the box I upgraded my equipment and wow do I have gear Wi-Fi now! Thanks Linksys great equipment September 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by a good router, but better with these 2 features Good router after all , easy to manage. However it will be better if it can include these 2 software features in the GUI.1) Remote WOL (Port Forwarding the magic packet to LAN broadcast address). I need to turn on some computer remotely to retrieve some files for example. There is no way now for the Linksys router to pick up the magic packet i sent from internet and forward it to my home LAN. I see some brands can support it by a simple port forwarding setting or by setting up router VPN connectivity to extend the "LAN". i would not pick Linksys if i had noticed before my purchase that this simple feature is missing !!! I deadly need this feature otherwise i need to keep my PC up and running all the time while i am away. It is consuming a lot of unnecessary electric power and generating much unnecessary heat before i arrive home and turn on the air conditioning.2) Enable/Disable WIFI scheduler. There is a WIFI scheduler that we can select which hour in the week to turn the WIFI on or off. However sometimes we are working on something and watching a movie (media centre/TV box) and need to keep the WIFI on. It will make our lives easier if we can temporarily disable the WIFI scheduler so that when we finish the task we enable it again, instead of changing the scheduling pattern to enable the WIFI in current hour and maybe the coming few hours then later we disable those hours. It is a bit troublesome to look for the day of the week row and the hour column to enable/disable it. September 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by better range This new router has a much greater range than my old unit. It has also increased the data transfer speed. Very happy, I highly recommend this device for both an upgrade or your first router. September 25, 2016
