I bought this to boost my 5 GHz band and it did great I replaced a Linksys EA35000 with the WRT1900ACS doubled the range. I would recommend this to friends for sure.

Also seemed we struggled a bit having lots of devises connected. The WRT1900 fixed my interference issue. Also handles all our devises. Super easy setup, great product, Thank You!

I'm retired and I've always bought Linksys because I spent 45 years in IT and we always used Linksys. I purchased my Linksys Router at my local Fry's Store for a very reasonable price. Got the Linksys Router home and it took only a few minutes to setup. Glad it was so easy to setup. I have a Sony 65" 4K TV that connected at 5GHz. My DirecTV Genie DVR connected at 5GHz. I have a Gaming PC that I connected via Ethernet Cable. I also have another Gaming PC upstairs that connected via Wi-Fi at 5Ghz and an ASUS Laptop that I connected at 2.4Ghz. Finely my Apple iPhone connected at 2.4Ghz. All of my devices connected without any problems which made me very happy. So far I'm very pleased with the Linksys Router WRT1900ACS.

I am delighted with the performance and the price. A family member also has this router, and has a strong signal all across her large house. I use it on a Uverse system with the wifi turned off in their modem, allowing the Linksys to show its stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent router for a large householdThis router was purchased for a 5 person household containing 15 wireless clients one of which is a high end gaming machine. We have used numerous Linksys routers so we did not use the setup CD but had no issues installing the router. Our household includes 802.11b,g,n and ac devices and all but the gaming PC attached with no issues. A short look through our favorite hardware forum produced the information we needed to set the necessary parameters and now the PC connects at the desired speed. The ability to set that particular PC for media prioritization was one of the main reasons for purchasing this router. We are definitely pleased with this purchase.

So far, no issues to report, setup was easy, everything connected, range is great, fast, streaming is instant, what's not to like? I'm not doing anything super sophisticated, but this router has features to grow with should I need them.

The Linksys router matched Upload and Download speeds on all of my devices. The range was also comparable with both exerting the same gain at the longest range. The Linksys GUI interface made it easier to configure and administer while giving the user a better view of the devices connected to it. The Linksys router interface was better equipped for regular home users, while the Asus router had many more features for the more advanced users. I finally decided to configure the Linksys router in a bridge mode and the performance of my network jumped to the same speed on all of the corners of the house. The download speeds trippled at the farthest side matching the same speed I had right by the first router. It was great. I have 11 devices connected wirelessly and 8 devices hard wired.

I especially like the ability to control the router from my smart phone using the Smart WiFi app where I can see which devices are actively using the network and I can enable or disable guest access very quickly whether I'm at home or not. The front panel display and especially the separate indicators for low and high band are helpful in gauging how much of my bandwidth is being consumed by WiFi connected devices. The effective range and evenness of coverage has been quite remarkable.

I had a range expander, but that didn't completely do the trick. This router has total coverage even in my basement. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend this product.Linksys WRT1900ACS Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router with Ultra-Fast 1.6 GHz CPU. I have been a Linksys fan for years. They have never let me down. The hardware always works and the online support is USA based. They were very helpful. I am not knowledgeable in this area and probably didn't need to buy a product this far up the chain. But, when I saw "Ultra-Fast" I went for it. It works perfectly. They only installation problem I had was self inflected. They helped me right away. No problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steaming Issues ResolvedI must admit that the installation was not easy for us, so Linksys might want to give better installation instructions. After the first attempt at installation, we re-installed the Dlink. Then we started early the next day and it was past 6 pm by the time we had the installation completed and all devices reattached to the new Wifi network. If you purchase this and have multiple TVs, multiple DVDs players, cell phones, wireless printer, etc., you must reestablish your network. The upside of the installation is that Netflix is streaming now without constant freezing. This is basically why I upgraded my router as technology was newer and this is a dual-band which my ISP confirmed would probably solve my streaming issues. I also appreciated the free Wifi Range Extender. I recommend this product, but know that installation of a new router requires additional work to reestablish your wifi network so start early in the day.

Much lesser routers include that option, and it is enabled out of the box. Can we count on that being addressed in a future firmware update?

It is definitely faster than the previous models. Performance is excellent, it provides fast and stable internet to all the devices in my household, which has 2 wireless desktop computers, 3 tablets and several cell phones. My husband plays online games and noticed that his game is running better. Overall, this is the best router that I ever had and I can only recommend it!

I reconnected an older Linksys wireless router and it worked, so I upgraded my home network to use the WRT1900ACS and two RE6500HG units as wireless access points.Worked immediately and configuring for security, avoiding a conflict with a not-so-smart WiFi Gateway Thermostat, and determining optimal locations for the RE6500HG units was a breeze.

Never realized I could add my own router and get superior performance. This router is a powerhouse. We have 12 internet hungry devices in our house and this router handles them all with ease. So far it has been reliable.

It works great when it's freshly rebooted but after a day or so the wireless drops connection and takes a while to restore. In addition about every day or so it won't let you log into the router (even when hardwired) without turning the router off and back on again. I've just sent an email to Linksyscare to see if I can get this resolved. If not, then the router will be going back.

I have 10 devices that's router, 5 of them wireless. Since I installed this router, my wireless speeds connecting to the internet have doubled and are almost the same as my hardwired connections. I highly recommend this router.

I have it set up and let me tell you, I have never had something so simple to get started. There is a dvd with it but didn't have to use it as it automatically recognized itself on all my devices. I only had to set up one time and the other smart phones etc followed right along.

So now everyone can use Wi-Fi at great speeds ( I pay for 150 mbps ). One more thing I have Verizon Fios for internet provider, and have no problems. I would like to point out that I'm not using Fios router at all ( you will need it if you subscribe to TV ).

Installation relatively straightforward and I love the admin interface.The availability of USB 3.0 and e-SATA makes backups and data transfers convenient. I liked the fact that I could disable all LED indicators (except power) as I find them distracting while I work.

Wirelessly connected 6 devices (half Android, half windows) without any issues. Coverage for 6000 square foot house is fantastic. The devices connected were G, N and AC as well as gigabyte Ethernet. All devices performed flawlessly. All the standard features plus VPN. Great separate controls for network storage access.

I am currently running 4 pc's and 22 wifi devices connected with no drop. I'm glad I choose this new ACS over any other router out in the market. I also paired this ACS model with Linksys newest switches model WRT8 Ports Gigabyte & with the Linksys model SE3005 /5 ports.... I strongly believe I made the right choice. I would like to see Linksys built a big big FAT wifi router just for the looks.My last thought, good job Linksys ! WRT1900ACS is a winner..

I setup a network for a small motel using the Linksys EA6900 and have turned it into an access point to use the WRT 1900 ACS. The network map is amazing on the mobile administration app. Very easy setup and great range coverage. Operation is cool with the air flow, a fix from the previous WRT model. Professional packaging and great for business.

It has scaled well as the wireless devices in the house have steadily increased. I am up to 12-14 wireless connections now. Whenever i do decide to upgrade, i will try and stick with Linksys if its possible. :)

Been running for about 3 weeks and have not had to power unit down or do any resetting. 5Ghz signal is not as strong as 2.4Ghz signal.

I recently tried the Netgear Nighthawk and had many problems with throughput. The Linksys has given me absolutely no issues at all. I highly recommend this router.

I don't know whether it was because I upgraded 2 PCs in my house to Windows 10, or whether it had some other stability problem. Either way, this router has been great! I have not had to reset it since I got it, about a month ago. I use it to support 4 phones, 5 PCs and 2 iPads. It has worked flawlessly...

A chance there is OpenWrt to be able to use the 80% unused with your stock firmware. Plus, I would say, there is a couple (important) bugs with your stock firmware. I would only recommended it to experienced users able to flash OpenWrt on it.

I had previously had Linksys routers and hubs so when an offer of free extender and money off crossed my desk, I took it up. Well the only issue I had/have has to do with location of the router and extender. Seams like AAE just sat and worked fine. This one though, I am still playing with the antennas to get the best coverage. Not really a fault of the router as much the design of my house.

The WRT1900ACS seems to be a little faster and is supposed to be dual band but there is no documentation to tell you how to get devices to run on the second band. All the devices run on the same band by default.

This router has a lot more horsepower and manages the many devices that are connected to my network very well. The 5gHz signal is much stronger, I wasn't able to use the dual band feature with my other router unless the device was very close to the router. I like the smart Wi-Fi phone app and the Linksys Range extender gives me enough signal to stream video content outdoors on our patio. I'm glad I upgraded.

For my setup I used the Cascade LAN to WAN method behind my Internet Providers modem/router and turned off the Wi-Fi on the Internet Providers modem/router. I easily manually configured the WRT 1900ACS router and Wi-Fi using the built in menus and easy to find documentation on line. The Wi-Fi range for the WRT 1900ACS is above average in my situation compared to the various other routers I have used. I setup a Smart Wi-Fi account and that works as advertised from my PC and from the smart phone app. An external USB 3 hard drive connected to the USB 3 port on the router provides easy to access storage for all the PCs on my network. The three media streaming devices connected to the network all work flawlessly.

The GUI is very clean and not cluttered. It is very easy to navigate and use. I have a 2012 sq ft. home and signal strength never went below 4 bars using the 2.4GHz, or the 5GHz. I connected well over 10 devices to the wireless and had them all running various things at once. I never noticed any of them have any sort of decrease in performance, to include streaming UHD movies. Overall this is a very nice router and would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tech SupportI bought a Linksys 1900 ACS about a week before. I decided to try DD-wrt on it so I installed it. Things went smoothly but my router was not connecting. I contacted Tech Support and man was I surprised.I anticipated they would tell me "we can't help you" because I was using different firmware. In spite of the firmware they agreed to help me. Soon after they have, they diagnosed the issue, and gave me a fix which I implemented and BAM! It worked! I am not too tech savy and have no formal training. Dealing with Linksys reminded me of dealing with the health system I go to. Very professional, caring, understanding, and patient.This was a very high level of customer care I received! In addition their knowledge of the problem was incredibly helpful.Thanks for working with me on this issue!satisfied customer

And the ability to use a external hard drive with this router is great. I had a EA6300 before this one and only was getting about 10MB/sec transfer rate and with this router I get over 100MB/sec.

But with the Linksys Smart WiFi utility graphic interface everything that you need to do to get it going (or to make changes later) is presented in series of virtually self-explanatory windows, making that task simple and quick, and I had the WRT1900ACS up and running in minutes.The router's signal on both bands was stronger than that of the Netgear Nighthawk that it replaced, and I found that a signal extender that I had installed before in order to get adequate coverage at one end of the lower floor of my house was no longer needed. (Router is on the second floor at the other end.), The ability to fully configure the four antennas of the 1900ACS to optimize coverage is a big plus.)I give it two thumbs up!

All back in order now, but overall it was just too hard. Nothing in the installation CD could have helped us do what these professionals have done.

The setup was easy and so far I have been very pleased with the performance and reliability. We have about 25 devices connected to both bands of the router without any problems. We stream HD video throughout the house to appliances connected to four different WUMC710 5GHz bridges without any problems. I am also impressed with the ftp speed which is about 300Mbps using a fifth WUMC710 bridge.

The 2.4 and 5 AC ghz band signal strength is consistently strong throughout my 2 story home. The router is rock solid both wireless and wired. There are 8 devices connected (wireless and wired). The device connectivity is great with this router- no drops whatsoever. Streaming content is not an issue for this router-it has powerful hardware that can handle the task with ease. I have used this router extensively both on a regional cable system and AT&T Uverse system- same great results. WRT1900ACS router is setup and forget- not having to experiment with settings to get the devices to connect or stay connected-rock solid connectivity. Linksys quality is evident with the WRT1900ACS. I have had extensive experience in networking for years and have had many routers from various manufacturers- some of them from Linksys competitors which were trouble prone and over hyped by initial reviews. The router is feature rich and menus are easy to navigate, unlike some competitor routers. I would highly recommend the Linksys WRT1900ACS router to anyone in the market for a rock solid,trouble free, and powerful router for a home network.

I like the web configuration and the fact that it has many configurable options. Being able to attach external storage is also nice, so no matter where you are on the network, you have storage. The Wi-Fi range on this unit also seem better than my previous one. One other additional thing I like is that the lights on the front of this unit seem brighter than the 1900AC - with that unit, I couldn't see the lights to ensure my unit is functioning correctly.

With the WRT1900ACS, I can cover the larger floor with just it, take my flaky wireless extender out of the mix and get greatly improved coverage across the house.This weekend I'm adding my external USB and setting it up as a backup for my systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthwhile upgrade.I upgraded from the EA6900 essentially because my phone would not hold a 5g connection in my new home. The WRT1900ACS did the trick. I now have a stronger and faster 5 and 2.4 signal.

The instructions for installation were not clear for someone like me who is OK with that sort of thing. It took me forever to realize that I needed to connect my computer directly to the router to set it up. I'm sure a tech savvy person would had figured this out a lot sooner than me but I have had the same router for over 10 years and do not claim to understand the in's and out's of routers. Why don't you try handing a router and your instructions to a sample group of non-techies and see what issues they have in installing your product the next time. I also purchased a 6400 net extender and I am still unable to figure out how to get my phone to tell me where to find the optimum location for the extender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ProductUsed to have a Linksys years ago, and was very happy with it. Somehow ended up using the cable modem wifi. Started having issues with the more distant devices, especially streaming. The new Linksys solved all the issues and more. The unit went in easily and I love the app, being able to see what I have connected, etc. Didn't realize our household had grown to have 18 devices on wifi at all times. You don't realize it when you can't see the network.

The Media Optimization drops the speed alot, and put "0" (unlimited) on my max download speed when i put in that I have 100mbit. I love that the router doesnt need to restart to apply features.Probably not going to keep that function on.Cant say anything about reliability so far.

I have this connected to a Linksys 16 port gigabit switch, our house is hardwired in every room but we still have at least 10-15 wireless devices connected at any one time and this router still is getting great speeds throughout on both wireless Channels. * One thing to note is that if you setup media prioritization you should definitely set your downstream bandwidth to your internet speed in settings, if you don't this can cause problems.

It replaced a good router and has improved performance in every category. One of my rooms can now receive a signal that could not before. It has transmitted through a mechanical room that previously blocked a signal.I have been using routers for many years and this was the easiest replacement I have ever had. It literally went from box to functioning in ten minutes. A great new feature is the Network Map that clearly shows what devices are connected and on which band they are operating.The media server, ftp and attaching a USB drive were easily accomplished and proper steps to take were very self intuitive. All of them are functioning with no problems.Media streaming is important to me and the router has improved my streaming performance by 10-15 percent.

Haven't played with advanced features yet, but the basics were all pretty easy to setup. The built in map of connected devices was useful. Now I'm getting the full download speed from my ISP.

The reliability of this unit, is good. There was few occasions that I had to reboot, and one time had to reset the unit. The signal range and the speed are good compared to what I had. Bottom line this router is GOOD and would recommend it.

The OpenVPN capability works very well though I had to find a compatible Mac OS X OpenVPN client by researching a bit. The OpenVPN community only has Windows and Linux versions being maintained today. I found the Tunnelblick VPN client to work like a charm running on my MBP with Mac OS X v10.11 (El Capitan).One thing I was a bit surprised about was that selecting to register the router with my DynDNS service account, the routers login page became available on the internet at my URL. This is probably because I do not have a web server running. But my assumption was that registering was going to simply replace my dyndns agent needs that run from my PC, not make the router login page available on the internet.I do have over a dozen wired and wifi connected devices on the network. 1xLinux PC, 1xWindows PC - wired, 2x Apple TV's, 2x iPads, 2xiPhones - wifi. 2 x Apple Airports, two additional wired switches for various other wired IoT devices. I originally had set this up as a wifi AP in the middle upstairs bedroom. This gave me the best overall wifi house coverage as expected (~2000 sq. ft) and I could still connect with good speeds from my front and back yards, about 25 and 50 feet away from center.Overall my experience has been very good. Making changes in configuration setting were straight forward and if a reboot was needed, the router comes back online very quickly as compared to any router I have had used thus far. This I am sure has a lot to do with the dual core 1.6GHZ CPU and perhaps optimized code running on the device.

Following the guides it was a snap to install and the faster speed is incredible.Signal now reaches all ares of our home. No more lag time,no dropped signal! The design is very nice and not intrusive.Now we can all access internet at the same time,even guests. Thank You Linksys.
