Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by 2reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Windows Server 2012 in most cases is the best Windows server to date. Very impressed with the hyper-V solutions. Definitely a game-changer and going to give VMWare a run for their money. I'm not a huge fan of MS's push of "metro" or whatever it's called now, and for that I give it 4/5. December 6, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by I've been using Server 2012 in testing for a while now. It's a very solid and well performing Server OS. It's faster booting than it's predecessors, and very responsive. I like many of the enhancements in the management tools, the enhancements to Powershell, the enhancements to terminal services, enhancements to AD and the updates to HYPER-V. What I don't like is the default color scheme, window dressings (for some reason it brings the thought of a 3 year old let loose with crayons to color and design the look), no admin pack for Windows 7, and lastly the Metro Interface. None of the dislikes are deal breakers, but more personal preference, of course metro and GUI can easily be addressed by running it as server core which is a smart idea if you don't need the GUI on it. Overall it is an excellent Server offering from MS, I wouldn't say a compelling upgrade in most cases though. I only gave it 4 of 5 primarily for lack of Win 7 admin tools I think that is a major failing requiring Server 2012, or Win 8 in order to administer a 2012 server. December 6, 2012
