I got this because my internet provider Upgraded my speed for free now. Now I have 350 mbps download and 12 mbps upload. More than I need but I need to upgrade my WiFi speed in the future it can handle up to 1.4 Gbps download speed so it is a future proof hardware for me!!

My difficulty came with the net gear router which is another story and another review. This modem seems very adequate it also is very small and lightweight .

Activation was simple and quick, and I consistently get about 15% better D/U speeds on my 400Mbps connection. A solid choice.

From the time I took it out of the packaging until it had it up and running couldn't have been more than 30 minutes and I'm certainly no 'techie'! Everything on my Wi-Fi network just worked! I bought a new router, it worked intermittently. I brought it back to the store (which is another story, and couldn’t enter due to Covid-19. I worked with an associate in the lobby (one customer at a time allowed in the lobby) and he suggested a get a Netgear router. (I already had a Netgear modem). I took his advice and bought it. Hooked it up and it’s the MOAR (mother of all routers)!! I think I can get connection in the neighbors yard!! So pleased, now I can get my work done!!

The spectrum modem need to be rebooted many times, and when it did, it took from 3 to 6 days for it to re-sync. After replacing the modem, I have NO problems re-syncing. My network problems are with the ISP and no longer due to the equipment. Thanks NegGear!

Mine would not work after being fried so I bought the same brand only to have the model not in working order when it arrived. I saw that I already had a NETGEAR router so decided to make it a pair with the cable modem. Have had no problems since installation. Only wish that the owners manual would be included in the box.

I had to split the cable because the phone provider modem had to have a phone insert for the landline. I live in a low area and sometimes my cell phone doesn't work. Just register first and visit the web site update any firmware and easy peasy.. Thanks Netgear for a quality product.

So far I've been very pleased and have not had to reset it as of yet. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to replace their current ISP modem.

I've only had it for 9 days but appears to be working for my house, so I am happy with my internet access and speed at this point. It was easy to set up and pair with the router I bought, so I can say it is very user friendly for non-techy types. :-) I found researching other users' reviews from several websites helpful in determining which modem and router would work best with my internet provider and my household. I believe my purchases are worth the money spent and will meet my needs for awhile.

I have a family of five and we all use a lot of bandwidth and this smoothed out all the kinks I had. I hear that the CM1000 is the way to go but didn't want to spend that kind of money on it and I'm very pleased with the decision that I made.

I have no idea why I waited this long to do this as this purchase will literally pay for itself in approximately 9 months. I have no good reason why I waited so long. I encourage everybody reading this to dump your modem lease right now and spend some money on this modem. This modem is great. It is a 32 channel modem meaning it can download all 32 of xFinity's channels. I believe 32 is the max xFinity utilizes. I probably could have jumped up to a Docsis 3.1 modem; however, this isn't mainstream yet and this Docsis 3.0 modem by Netgear is giving me insane speeds. I pay for xFinity's 250Mbps internet plan and I'm consistently seeing speeds around 287Mbps! So, in a nutshell, I'm very happy with this Netgear modem!

The new Netgear modem now, at times, hits 110 Mbps! The speed, and Wifi capabilities have increased exponentially! I would highly recommend this modem to everyone!

My only critique, is that it only has 1 Ethernet port in the back. So you will absolutely need to buy a router. But that was fine with me since I already had the Router.

I definitely am not using it to its full potential speed wise with my ISP, but wanted the extra 'room' to grow without jumping into DOCSIS 3.1 modems. I get faster speeds than my ISP advertises but not sure if that's a result of the modem or just the network. Haven't had to do any resets nor have I had any other issues with it. Like I said, it just works.

The modem is a 24/7/365 type device that must give dependable service over a long period of time. The CM700 design allows plenty of air-flow through the device to help keep it cool. It allows me to utilize the maximum bandwidth available from my isp.
