The DP2DVID2 DisplayPort® to DVI (Dual-Link) Adapter actively converts the output signal from a DisplayPort video source for use with a DVI-D display (monitor, etc.) or projector, helping to eliminate the equipment costs of upgrading a DVI display to a newer model for the sake of compatibility.

The adapter supports high resolution video (up to 2560x1600 at 60Hz), maintaining the outstanding graphical performance from a DisplayPort-equipped desktop video card, laptop or MacBook®.

DP2DVID2 performs an active DisplayPort-DVI conversion that is suitable for video sources that output either multimode (DP++) or single-mode DisplayPort signals. This ensures the adapter can be used even with graphics cards that aren't capable of outputting multimode DP++ signals, such as ATI® Eyefinity cards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok adaptor, works quickly I have tested this adaptor on several computers and it works very quickly. When using a Lenovo ThinkPad docking station for an extended period of time, the screen would go black for 1-2 seconds every few hours (this didn't happen with other adaptors). The adaptor comes in a slim small box that many small PCI cards come in. The adaptor has a DVI port on one end and the other has two cables coming out, one USB for power, and the other DisplayPort. The cables are about a foot long and the adaptor about half the size of my cell phone but twice as thick. I have used other DisplayPort to DVI adaptors that didn't require USB power and were much smaller, but I am unsure of their technical capabilities. The adaptor and cables are made of very nice plastics and feel premium. When connecting the adaptor, nothing happens until the USB power is connected. Once the USB cable was connected the display started working instantly. There was no installation process which I could see and the video was working so fast. The operating system did make a ding like it had detected new hardware but I saw no installation and the immediate video display makes me think this was just detection of a new monitor. Although the adaptor was larger than I expected, it works so quickly and without any latency. If not for the screen flickering once every few hours I would have given it a better rating. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly on my Apple Cinema HD Display More specifically, this is the Apple Cinema HD Display 30" monitor, which has a resolution of 2560 by 1600. This adapter helped me set this display up on my new Windows 11 PC. The frame rate is at 60 Hz (more specifically, 59.86 Hz, guess that's an Apple thing) at full resolution. For anyone else using this for this display, make sure to manually adjust the screen resolution to 2560 by 1600. By default, it's 1280 by 800, a mere 1/4th of the true capabilities of the display.
