The Tintri VMstore T5000 all-flash series is the first all-flash VM-aware storage (VAS) for 5,000 virtual machines (VM) in two rack units. High density 3D NAND drives and multiple capacities with expansion options gives you the ultimate flexibility in performance, capacity and price. Enabled by the Tintri scale-out platform, you can grow from a single two rack unit all-flash system to 10 PB of all-flash in 1.5 racks, supporting up to 160000 VMs. Tintri’s VM-aware storage delivers performance isolation and per-VM quality of service while guaranteeing high performance and low latency across the entire flash capacity. The T5000 series enables all storage action at the VM-level - manage, replicate, automate and analyze any (or every) VM to keep storage simple.

Product Reviews
Tintri VMstore T5080 - network storage server - 92 TB is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The VM-aware processing and speed are valuable. Valuable Features* VM-aware processing* Speed* Easy management* Fast deployment for virtual machinesImprovements to My OrganizationDeployment of new servers is now very fast; just clone master images to deploy a new server in seconds. It will be automatically mapped into Hyper-V. Just start, and it's... done.Room for Improvement* Active / active cluster between two Tintris on Hyper-V cluster.* Dedup should be better.Use of SolutionI have been using it for 3 months.Deployment IssuesWe have not encountered any deployment issues.Stability IssuesIt runs very good. Software upgrades can made during office hours.Scalability IssuesAt the moment, it is half-filled with SSDs; it has have 25 TB in SSD capacity (12.6 TBof it is usable) and after dedupe/compression, 80 TB is usable.Customer Service and Technical SupportCustomer Service: I rate the level of customer service as five stars; very fast and helpful. They also found a firmware error on our switch! Perfect.Technical Support: I rate the level of technical support as five stars.Previous SolutionsBefore, we used a NetApp FAS 2552. It was very slow and not so good to manage. It caused performance Issues. Then, we had a PoC with the Tintri 880 Series. It was much faster than the NetApp. After the PoC, we bought an all-flash 5060. It is very fast.As an example a virtual machine needs 25-30 seconds to boot with NetApp; with the Tintri, it takes 1-2 seconds. We have storage latency from 0.60 ms.Initial SetupThe setup was easy. We had the Tintri up and running in 60 mins with everything. It took more time just to rack and cable the Netapp...Implementation TeamWe implemented it in-house with support from Tintri.Pricing, Setup Cost and LicensingPrices are not cheap, but it runs...Other Solutions ConsideredBefore choosing, we also evaluated a NetApp all-flash system but Tintri does it better, the PoC was faster; better management.Other AdviceTry it, love it. :)Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sped Up Deployment Significantly And The Cloning Feature Is Impressive Valuable Features:The Deduplication feature in VDI environments. If Tintri says we can host 3000 VMs in our storage, I know we can host 3000 VMs there. Believe the results.Improvements to My Organization:It sped up deployment significantly. This is one of the greatest improvements because we are able to deploy several virtual machines in seconds. The cloning feature on the Tintri Box is really impressive.Room for Improvement:The area it needs to improve is the pricing. It could be better.Use of Solution:Two years.Stability Issues:No.Scalability Issues:No.Technical Support:Good. We had a couple of issues from the start and they were resolved very quickly with no impact on production.Previous Solutions:Yes, in the past we used a typical SAN solution. We made the switch because of the simplicity of the design. We can use the same network devices that have a large number of connections, instead of SAN switches. That's one less layer. And because the deployment is really fast of the box.Initial Setup:The initial setup is straightforward, no advanced knowledge is required to do it.Pricing, Setup Cost and Licensing:Explore the Tintri Synchronous Replication feature (licensing is required). This is a good solution to protect your environment at Storage Level and your RTO will be improved by this.Other Solutions Considered:Yes, XtremIO and you can ask for a deployment test with Tintri, after you test it you will like it, his deployment Is really simply and faster. No other dashboard is need it because you can see the behavior of your storage and the IO performance at VM level. Pure Storage.Other Advice:You can ask for a deployment test with Tintri. After you test it you will like it, its deployment is really quick and simple. No other dashboard is needed because you can see the behavior of your storage and the IO performance at the VM level.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for VDI environments or if you need to provide high-end VMWare solutions. Valuable Features:The fact that it is very easy to set up and delivers. It is a set and forget environment with a very good tooling to view performance and delivers the IOPS we need for our VDI environment.Improvements to My Organization:When implementing our VDI environment we noticed that we were unable to push out the IOPS for the VDI's to achieve the performance we wanted to. With Tintri we are able to deliver good performing VDI desktops.Room for Improvement:Speed of our VDI machines. We have a very high log in and log out ratio and machines are being refreshed instantly so we have a constant boot storm on our storage. Tintri can easily put up the effort then run this smoothly.Use of Solution:For over 3 years.Deployment Issues:None whatsoever. From unboxing to actually using it it took us about 45 minutes.Stability Issues:Not until now.Scalability Issues:Not until now. Because we don't have a full flash array but a hybrid we expected to not have a 100% flash hit ratio but to this day we never got below 100% hit ratio of Flash.Customer Service:Perfect. Normally they are aware of an issue earlier than we are. And even if they don't support something they still put in the effort to help usTechnical Support:Very high.Previous Solutions:Yes, we used diferent kinds of storages but they were unable to deliver the IOPS we needed.Initial Setup:Straightforward. As said, within 45 minutes from unboxing to production.Implementation Team:Through a vendor team. Other than getting the Tintri out of the box it was very easy.Cost and Licensing Advice:I think it is a very good solution. You get a good bang for buck.Other Solutions Considered:Yes, we tried multiple storage vendors but at that time Tintri was our best option for what we needed to achieve. They also provided us with a demo model.Other Advice:I'd say if you are going for VDI environments or need to provide high end VMWare solutions make sure to try Tintri. If you tried it and used it you wont go back to anything else.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Has given us the ability to quickly and easily understand, manage and troubleshoot storage at the granularity of a VM\vDisk. Tintri's VM-aware storage appliances combined with their intuitive management tools has given us the ability to quickly and easily understand, manage and troubleshoot storage at the granularity of a VM\vDisk.Appliance performance has exceeded expectations allowing us to migrate more demanding workloads without concern while increasing the responsiveness and throughput of those applications.Going forward we would like to see tighter integration with vSphere to enable the use of tags and other meta data for use in QoS and other management and reporting functions.Tintri truly delivers a setup and forget storage solution that allows us to focus on our primary business instead of managing complicated storage platforms.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review about Tintri VMstore Valuable Features:The Analytics components ( free) are amazing and allow for trending of performance and latency over the life of the product. The management dashboards keep improving and allow for quick and easy tracing of issues.Improvements to My Organization:We can now trend the performance of similar VMs and track performance issues to a point in time and ultimately a change or update.Room for Improvement:I think that Tintris cautious approach to introducing new features has been great however it has allowed competition to catch up to it.Tintri need to be able to innovate faster but maintain the quality of their features.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and use. Valuable Features:Ease of setup and simplicity to use. The per VM metrics are something that isn't found anywhere else.Room for Improvement:Backup integration with Veeam. I would really like to see a way to leverage storage side snapshots for this.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
