Tripp Lite's OMNI1500LCDT line-interactive tower UPS system offers voltage regulation, surge suppression and long lasting battery support for personal computers, network workstations, and home entertainment systems and media centers. Internal UPS circuits support entry level PCs or individual VCR/DVR components during power failures. It prevents data loss, viewing interruptions, lost recordings and loss of component programming. Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) circuits continuously regulate brownouts and over-voltages from 92 V to 150 V back to usable levels, all while maintaining a full battery charge. It offers complete power protection in an attractive all-black cabinet design.
Includes 10 built-in outlets, 5 with full battery backup and surge suppression for vital system components and another 5 with surge-suppression only for accessories not requiring battery support. Built-in USB port and included cable enables optional unattended system shutdown without data loss in case of extended power failure. PowerAlert software is available via free download from www.tripplite.com. HID-compliant USB interface also enables integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows and Mac OS X. Built-in surge dataline surge suppression jacks protect equipment with single-line dialup/DSL or network Ethernet connection. I use one to backup my internet service and I wanted the unit that would have substantially greater capacity than the ones I previously had. I am using the other two backup a TiVo system and again chose this for the same reason. I haven't had a power loss since I bought them but I expect them to be much more satisfactory than what I had before. The only problem is that I believe they will not turn themselves on if they shut off due to an extensive power loss. That is a design blunder.they should come back on when the power comes back on

I purchased three of these. 1 for the media server, 1 for a 5 NAS units and the last one for my work station. They weathered the last two storms very nicely. I never ene got to the point of shutdown. I kept right on working.

Since I purchased them I only had one power outage that lasted for only a second but that is what crashed one of my external hard drives last time. These units worked flawlessly. I look forward to seeing them work in a more prolonged situation.

The backup unit let our family continue watching a program that we were watching when our power failed during the recent hurricane. It's always good to know my entertainment system is fully protected by your product. Thank you! I can't imagine not having backup & surge protection for any and all expensive electronics!

Rated 5 out of 5 byxcyclone from Excellent value for the moneyAfter 10 years of successful service using the OmniVis1000, with only one battery replacement, I needed to upgrade to a large UPS and selected the Omni 1500LCDT. The manual was extremely clear and easy to follow and the installation was a snap. It runs very quietly and I find the LCD display a welcome addition for easy reference at all times. The 10 outlets on the back were more than adequate for all of my equipment. I just ordered a Tripp Lite replacement battery for the other unit and it will serve to backup the other less demanding wired unit on my home network
