Tripp Lite RV1250ULHW Inverter/Charger is the quiet alternative to gas generators with no fumes, fuel or noise to deal with! It provides equipment with utility- or generator-supplied AC electricity filtered through premium ISOBAR surge protection. This DC-to-AC inverter with automatic line-to-battery transfer and integrated charging system serves as an extended run UPS, a standalone power source or an automotive inverter suitable for rugged RV applications. OverPower inverter output feature temporarily provides up to 150% of the continuous output for 1-60 minutes, and DoubleBoost inverter output feature delivers up to 200% of the continuous output for up to 10 seconds, providing the extra power needed to cold start heavy-duty tools and motorized equipment. When hardwire AC input is energized, commercial power passes through to connected equipment and the battery set is recharged via 3 stage, selectable 14 / 55 amp charging system. In UPS mode, the APS system responds to blackouts and voltage fluctuations with a near instantaneous automatic transfer to battery-derived AC output. It includes a set of high current DC input terminals for simple installation. Passes sine wave utility or generator power during battery charging and UPS line power operation, plus efficient PWM sine wave AC output in inverter and UPS backup modes. Reliable large transformer design, with frequency control powers resistive electronic loads or large inductive motors, compressors and other items with high current needs on startup. It supports an unlimited amount of runtime with any number of user-supplied batteries connected. It highly adaptable to a variety of applications and site conditions with adjustable charger settings for wet / gel battery types and selectable line to battery power transfer voltages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best functionality in 1250 Watt inveter in the marketWe've installed 6 of these in small RVs; with two more on the way. The RV1250 is very compact; has DC cable connections in a very convenient location and a proper AC panel for in/out connections. It is slightly heavier than other inverters and a bit more expensive. The RV1250 provides flawless transfer to make it very simple for the users - simply leave the unit running. Plug in and unplug shore power at will. Apparently, the unit will limit the DC input current to 95 amps at 12VDC (in specs and shows in testing) so there is a plus and a minus. AC powered devices will not draw enough current to overload the output circuit. Items like hair dryers need to be kept within 1200 watts to work effectively. The LED legend is difficult to read, so we add a sticker. There is only two switch settings so it is not a huge deal. Testing: this unit is mod sine wave and does not work with the tested CPAP. The RV1250 does work with many other sensitive electronics using the manufacturers AC charger - Samsung phone; iphone, Dell computer. Unfortunately, testing is the only way to find out if the AC powered device will work. If it is a critical device, like a CPAP, a sine wave inverter should be used. Phones and computers should be fine. Of course, DC charging is no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Unit , Little noisyI purchased this unit to provide backup power for woodstove cooling fan . We live in a area where the power is not reliable , and with us both working days needed a backup power source that could run a 500watt load for a couple of hours unintended . Unit works well , will run for 8 hours @ 500watt load on two 24ser/Deep cycle batterys . Inverter is a little noisy , and on slow recharge still has a humm . Good unit though , Power Ok , for not being a true sinewave .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I shouldn't have to replace this again.I purchased the RV 1250ULHW to replace a 13 year old RV 1000ULHW that stopped working. I leave my motorhome connected to shore power so I was impressed that the old unit lasted so long. The higher output is actually smaller, allowing me to install the unit so I could see the indicators without having to get a flashlight and lean inside the storage compartment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great inverterI purchased this inverter as a replacement for two other factory supplied inverters that failed. I found this one through Tessco Technologies. I haven't had a chance to give it a real stress test yet but it will be put through it's paces in about three weeks. So far it has worked as advertised and I would definitely recommend this product or any other produce in this line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid backupLast time a big storm went through here and threatened to flood my basement, the sump pump ran constantly just keeping up. I decided I needed power backup for the sump pump. A generator would be a pain because it would have to be outside with extension cord to the sump - nothing I could leave unattended. So, I put together a system of TrippLite RV1250ULHW inverter/charger, 2 TrippLite batteries (98-121's) in a TrippLite battery case (BP-260), and mounted it on a cart I built for the purpose. I provided a GFCI outlet and grounded the set-up via my copper pipes. I have a TrippLite remote panel (APSRM4) installed at the top of the stairs, so I don't even have to go into the basement to check on the unit. I'm not sure how long it will run the sump pump, but it should handle a day or two, hopefully longer than most storm downpours. It may even have sufficient capacity to pull some lights or the freezer. I'm not wishing for a big storm, but I'll rest a little easier if it comes.
