Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works GreatI've been wiping drives for the last several days since I received this device, PATA and SATA, and haven't had a single issue. Short of a mechanical issue with the drive, it gets the job done. Like another reviewer mentioned the cables are short but that isn't a big deal to me. As far as the other reviewer who gave it a 1-star review because he felt the cables weren't robust enough, it'd be nice if he'd have rated the device based on its performance not on some cables that aren't specialized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product works great! We have 2 of these and they work just as advertised. The cables are not very long but they are good enough to get the job done and you can always use your own if the supplied cables are not to your liking. It has multiple modes including a DOD rated protocol to wipe the drives. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to dependably erase data from their hard drives before they are decommissioned or sent to a recycler. One thing to remember is that if your hard drive has crashed for a mechanical or electrical issue (something other than a software problem with an OS) then you may not be able to wipe it. That is not a failing with this product - it simply means that the drive cannot be accessed by this or any other product and the hard drive will have to be physically destroyed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not buy it.This is a shoddy product. The cables that attach to it are flimsy and will come apart easily.
