FireEye MVX-IPS is designed to provide a more comprehensive view of multi-vector attacks to boost threat protection against known and unknown attacks.
Current IPS products are deficient for two reasons - they are signature-based and therefore unable to detect modern threats, and they create excessive alerts, requiring customers to devote additional resources to manage their system. FireEye MVX-IPS takes a approach to IPS by extending the FireEye Multi-Vector Virtual Execution (MVX) technology to a layer in the security stack, eliminating both problems created by traditional IPS solutions. The unique architecture of FireEye MVX-IPS allows validation of attacks identified by IPS, thereby reducing alerts and allowing security teams to focus on genuine threats.
