Cloud Solutions Company Transforms the Technical Classroom With Google Cloud
Partnering with CDW, a cloud leader revolutionized higher education scalability with Google Cloud. The result? Zero downtime, AI-driven learning, and grading times cut from hours to minutes. Transformation redefined.
Recognizing the need to scale their platform and enhance service delivery, a cloud technology solutions company partnered with CDW to achieve autonomous operations and empower their engineering teams to deliver innovation at the pace of modern business demands.
Meeting the Scalability Needs of a Higher Education Customer
Utilizing industry-leading cloud architects, developers and engineers and focusing on full-stack development and implementation, this cloud technology solutions company prescribes best-practice frameworks for security, cost, automation and performance.
With the increasing number of courses, concurrent users and various lab environment tools, the customer had technical higher education clients facing significantly increased challenges with application reliability, deployment automation and infrastructure scalability. They needed to migrate their hybrid platform entirely to the cloud.
Scalable Solutions with CDW and Google Cloud Platform
Without automation, scaling seemed impossible. To enable the customer to realize their mission, CDW migrated the entire CourseMatix platform to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) on Google Cloud and set up a seamless container orchestration process.
Given that the cloud technology solutions company had no prior experience with the Google Cloud, CDW took a leadership role in enabling a smooth transition. They developed an intuitive, declarative deployment model to simplify complex workload management and accelerate the company’s ability to deliver services.
The Results
As a result of the evolution to Google Cloud, CourseMatrix enabled their customers to begin scaling to support any number of students while simultaneously increasing agility by a factor of three. The engineering team could now optimize the workload of container instances and increase the usage of provisioned resources which reduced bulk assignment grading time from the original six hours down to 35 minutes.
The customer enhanced their artificial intelligence models, providing each student's course content based on assignments' data and the student's performance. Since the transition, the company and its clients have experienced zero downtime.
