A New Cloud Path With IBM PowerVS and SAP on HANA
IBM PowerVS offers a flexible cloud alternative for IBM Power workloads. Starting in Q2 2025, RISE with SAP will support IBM Power, enabling faster migration of SAP S/4HANA from on-premises systems to the cloud.
IBM PowerVS has emerged as a flexible and reliable alternative to on-premises Power Systems, offering enterprises the ability to run IBM Power workloads in the cloud. This approach provides organizations with new options for scaling resources, testing workloads and modernizing infrastructure while maintaining compatibility with existing environments.
For SAP users, PowerVS will play an important role in accelerating cloud adoption. Beginning in Q2 2025, “RISE with SAP” will extend support to IBM Power clients. This development means that SAP S/4HANA workloads running on IBM Power can transition from on-premises environments to the RISE cloud model in as little as 90 days.
The combination of PowerVS and SAP expands flexibility for enterprises, allowing them to align core workloads with evolving business and IT strategies.
