My Digital Day: Life on a Connected Campus

Modern students expect anytime, anywhere digital connectivity. See how one student benefited from ubiquitous connectivity made possible by CDW.

Off and Running

Awakened by her smartphone alarm, Nicole checks the weather on her phone and sneaks a quick peek at her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

On her way out of the dorm, she pauses in the lobby to check the digital signage display for the day’s events and activities on campus.

Slipping into her seat in the lecture hall, she flips open her laptop to take notes. Her professor takes full advantage of the plug-and-play audiovisual tools at his disposal to share video and visual content.

Study Time

After class, she heads to the student union to meet up with her political science classmates to complete their mid-term project. Given the hours they’ve spent brainstorming on the interactive whiteboard, she’s glad to see the PowerPoint presentation finally come together.

When finished, Nicole finds a comfy spot in the quad where she logs into the learning management system (after resetting her password, thanks to the monthly auto reminder) and checks her history exam grade, then watches the archived video of a lecture she missed when she was out sick.

Social Time

Over dinner in the campus dining hall, she and her roommate decide to host an impromptu movie and popcorn night, so they each text several friends the details of the plan to gather later in the common area at the dorm to stream the movie on its big, high-resolution monitor.
