How can IT teams refresh aging PCs while managing rising laptop costs?
A REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
Moving Hospitality Teams to Windows 11
The organization needed to replace aging Windows 10 systems with readily available devices that met its technical and budget requirements. It also wanted to avoid double shipping and simplify deployment.
THE TURNING POINT
A Buy-and-Hold Model Helped Secure the Devices
As an existing CDW customer, the organization worked with CDW to secure in-stock AMD-powered HP laptops before HP’s anticipated price increase. CDW reserved inventory in its warehouse, then configured each laptop with the customer’s Microsoft AutoPilot image, applied a custom asset tag and repackaged it for direct shipment to its end user.
AMD-Powered HP Laptops
Readily available HP laptops with AMD processors met the customer’s technical requirements and budget. CDW reserved the devices in its warehouse until the customer was ready to begin deployment.
CDW Configuration and Deployment Services
CDW configured each device with the customer’s AutoPilot image and a custom asset tag, then repackaged it for shipment directly to its end user.
THE RESULTS
Ready-to-Deploy Laptops Reached Employees Directly
CDW’s buy-and-hold model secured in-stock devices and reduced uncertainty around availability. The configured, asset-tagged laptops went directly to end users as the organization moved from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Here’s Why It Worked
- Secured AMD-powered HP laptops that met the customer’s technical requirements and budget.
- Used CDW’s buy-and-hold model to reserve inventory until deployment.
- Applied the customer’s AutoPilot image and a custom asset tag to each device.
- Shipped each repackaged system directly to its end user, avoiding double shipping.
