Acer TravelMate P248-M-57J4 - 14" - Core i5 6200U - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor build quality and no owner's manual Flimsy and poor build quality. Touch pad isn't sealed, so dust and food crumbs will fall inside the case. You can actually see inside the case from the base of the touch pad. No lights on keyboard, so can't tell if caps lock and other similar features are on or off. No owner's manual. Not on Acer site or anywhere else. Went on Acer live chat, which in itself was unhelpful. Was told the manual would be on their site in a few weeks, but this model was released over 6 months ago. I don't know what the two lights in the front of the case mean, how to turn the volume up or down with the keyboard, how to operate the webcam, how to create a CD/DVD (I bought an external one) and more. The battery is internal, so it charges every time you plug in the computer. This drastically cuts the life of a battery. It will probably last less than two years, and I don't know if it can be replaced (no owner's manual). There are also no sections that can be removed on the bottom of the case to fan, RAM, etc.) so to access anything, you have to remove the entire bottom of the computer. This will be fun when I go to add more RAM.I've owned several Acers in the past, and didn't have these problems. It seems Acer is really dropping the ball with product quality and customer service.
