A whole lot of money for a step backwards
I've had it for a week, and I'm shelling out the 15% restocking fee to send it back. I am a teacher, and my old laptop was no longer charging, and didn't have the RAM to run zoom meetings smoothly. This model has twice the ram, 3 times the hard drive, but runs about on par with my 6 year old Dell. It overheats at the drop of a hat (even though I always have it on a solid surface). I also *thought* I ordered the touch screen model, but the website is so hard to navigate that it turns out I didn't. This laptop is heavy- it feels like my old school-provided model (from 8 years ago) and runs about the same. The space bar and 2 of the number keys also are very stiff, so typing is difficult. If it were a $500 computer, I'd be satisfied, but for what I paid, I'm returning it and purchasing from a different manufacturer.

Monitor Issue
Received my HP ProBook 440 g7 on a timely basis. However, the montor was an issue. There was extreme brightness that made it impossible to use the laptop for any purpose.
It was like someone was holding a light bulb behind the screen. Colors from my photos had a washed out look. Colors were not vivid like one would expect from a FHD 1920 x 1080 resulution. Black print was light making it difficult to read. Extreme problem in trying to read the HP Assistant pages. All attempts to adjust brightness and colors failed. Two messages to HP for support received no response. Phone lines were backed up with long wait time. Finally, worked through online chat to return the laptop for full refund. They can check for any defective monitor. I will not replace this model or any other from HP. Will look for a different brand of lightweight 14 inch laptop with same specs for travel that can be used for photoediting (Adobe Photoshop Elements), wording processing (MS Office), web browsing, and email.

Speedy and solid build!
Working from home and my personal computer was just not up to the task with work related apps. Purchased this until I can get back into the office and secure a new company laptop. It has not disappointed after removing the extra bloatware from Microsoft and HP. Processor and storage speed as advertised.

It will do for what I need, but I expected more
I bought this a month ago, and I wish I had not. There is nothing wrong, just that it is a lot heavier than I thought and the touchpad is not responsive, at all.
