IBM Maximo Adapter for Microsoft Project brings the power and flexibility of Maximo asset management together with Microsoft Project, a leading desktop project management application. Maximo Adapter for Microsoft Project enables planners and schedulers to work with Maximo data from within Microsoft Project. Users can display and interactively analyze work management data including work orders, preventive maintenance (PM) and resource data. Its embedded forms, dialogs and filters in Microsoft Project allow quick access to Maximo data and added functionality related to work and resource planning.

The easy-to-use functionality of Maximo Adapter for Microsoft Project begins with the Maximo menu options and dialog boxes on the Microsoft Project menu bar, where they are easily accessible. Two-way integration of Maximo software with Microsoft Project allows information to be updated in both applications automatically, helping to preserve data consistency.

With Maximo Adapter for Microsoft Project, users can plan for optimal resource and material use by displaying, analyzing and reporting on work backlogs, capital projects and shutdowns in advance. Users can also perform these tasks on multiple capital projects and shutdowns that are in progress so that conflicting resources, materials or other factors that impact the completion date can be flagged.

The Maximo Adapter for Microsoft Project provides direct connection between Microsoft Project and the Maximo application server. Along with other usability enhancements, asset calendars can be transferred to allow resource scheduling that considers not only the availability of required working resources but the availability of the equipment as well.

Users have several ways to access and use work orders within Maximo Adapter for Microsoft Project. Not only can a new work order set be created from scratch, but users can also open an existing work order set, open and forecast a set of PMs or work with Maximo projects already in Microsoft Project without a Maximo software connection.
