Amazon Imaging manufactures their own cartridges using only the finest U.S. made components (including polypropylene instead of the less expensive and less dependable ABS plastic) to make sure its quality is the level that all OEM's try to achieve. By utilizing only the highest grade inks, and their own specialized "Sintered" filtration system, they ensure that their failure rate of less than 1% is far below the largest OEM manufacturer.
