So I am able to connect the MacBook Pro to: - a wire Ethernet cable (via the RJ45 port) - a second monitor (via the HDMI port), in addition to existing HDMI port embedded to the MacBook Pro. So in total two monitors can be connected simultaneously in extending mode to the MacBook Pro!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Find a different adapter This product works ok, but if you use the USB-C passthrough for charging your Mac, it has extremely slow charge. I have tested this using the passthrough and directly plugging in my Macbook while using the HDMI port, and the difference is significant. Also, the USB-C port is on the same side as the other ports, making it awkward to use as a passthrough. If you goal is merely to add ports and not use it to charge, then it's fine.

It gets extremely hot, I have used both a 30W and 60W USB C power source but the heat is is not acceptable. I'm not sure if there is a fault or anything wrong with the HUB.

I have problem on my USB Hub so, I have selected the live chat on the BELKIN'S homepage and waiting 20 Min. and then connected a representative but he told me I need to call 1 800 number because he is in charge person of cell phone Accessories. So, I called 1 800 number and then connected a female representative and I told her about my hub problem and she told me she is not in charge person of the Hub products andthen she told me to call again and select option 5. I have called 1 800 again and then select option 5. I call connected another female representative and she told me same thing and she told me call again and select option 1. I have called again and select option 1, finally, Answering machine told me visit to their homepage. What the fantastic customer care system!!!!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product : Heats up quickly I bought this a month ago, the product is very good in usage but it heats up very quickly. After using both USB ports for 15-20 mins, without connecting the power cable though, the hub heats up a lot which is not understandable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with Big Sur on x86_64 and Aarch64 I'm using this dock with a MacBook Pro 15" Retina with TouchBar, a MacBook Pro 13" Retina with TouchBar, and a MacBook Air M1 with Apple Silicon. They all work correctly. The Ethernet is detected as 1Gb (measured as 743Mbps down, 810Mbps up), the HDMI is running 4K @ 30Hz, the USB3 ports work correctly, and my MacBooks charge if I have an Apply power brick plugged into the dock's USB-C port. The only beef I have with this dock is that the USB-C cable that goes to the laptop is a bit short. Note: it all still works if there ISN'T a power brick connected to the dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Misleading I recently Purchased the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9” as my on-the-go Music Production device. A powered USB hub is required and recommended by iPad Musicians who need to connect a usb interface, MIDI/USB controller, and USB Mic along with Headphones... This USB-C Hub is recognized by my iPad but does not charge. I specifically purchased this USB-C Hub since Apple is now using the standard USB-C port and cable instead of the lightening adapter. It only takes 20w to charge the new iPad Pro while Belkin claims this hub can handle 60watts! I didn’t even get that far as I plugged the Hub into the iPad and then plugged the iPad usb-c charger into the USB-C Pass-Thru powered port! The connection was recognized but says “Not Charging” so I tried connecting the hub into the camera kit and then the camera kit into the iPad... Nope! So basically this product is garbage! There are people using cheap $20 usb hubs to accomplish what this overpriced paper weight can’t!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so good! This hub causes the mouse cursor to stick for 2-3 seconds every 20-30 seconds when using the wireless mouse receiver with this hub. If I connect the receiver directly to the laptops USB port, the cursor flows smoothly through the screen, so only when connecting the receiver to tis hub, is when the cursor sticks. In addition, I often have to connect/disconnect the HDMI cable to get the external monitor detected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect hub As all the Belkin products I’ve used with Apple kit, this just works. No issues with networking which is the main reason I purchased. It would be great if it could be enhanced so that if I connect my monitor through the usb c it could pass video to the monitor and receive usb and power from the monitor as usb c does when I connect directly to the monitor without this - this is a feature I assumed it wouldn’t have, and is only really needed as some Mac’s on have 2 USB ports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality The setup was just as simple as plugging the hub into my laptop, followed by the automatic configuration, and the dock was ready to use. The HDMI connection was flawless, it allows me to connect an external monitor. The USB ports allow me to connect a keyboard, mouse, or any other device with an USB port. So, you basically plug it into your laptop's USB-C port to then power a variety of peripherals. It's very convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm, cable is a bit worrysome One of the best hubs you can get, but there's one issue. The cable that connects to the PC feels "unsecure". What I mean by that is, the cable doesn't feel that it'll last a long time, if you're constantly plugging in and out to your machine.

She loves that she can attach this to her computer, her laptop, her cell phone, her tablet etc. This definitely comes in handy and if she ever gives it back to me I will definitely put it to good use!

When I connect it to the laptop or my Macbook it charges them while connecting other devices. It is small and easy to carry anywhere. Great quality and Belkin has always been the best. I really recommend it if you work from home or if your work needs you to connect and use many devices at once.

I especially like how I can charge my ear pods and not have to use a port on my computer. It worked well with my flash drive viewing photos. I also connected my Tivo stream 4K and ethernet cable through the Belkin usb-c hub and it worked great! I am going to get a lot of use from this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features Unboxing: When you open the box the first thing that caught my attention was…the very confusing method of getting the hub out of the box. The cable was intertwined in the cardboard, which was taped into together in many places for seemingly no reason (maybe to prevent theft?). The information card was the same. This could be much better designed, even just a foam insert and the hub tucked in. Quality: Once I was able to get the hub out, the actual first thing you notice is how solid it is. The hub has a premium feel to it and seems well put together. The cable is permanently attached to the unit and feels very sturdy as well. One suggestion I’d have here obviously is that the design could have been streamlined a bit so the cable could be tucked around or so that the cable could be removed. Because the unit is so small, you could easily throw it in a backpack or your pocket, or even a purse, but that cable is going to see its wear during travel. Performance: The Hub was immediately recognized by my laptop. It accepted connections quickly and didn’t slow down one bit when connecting multiple Input devices (keyboard, mouse, Xbox One Controller Adapter). HDMI performed perfectly, 4K video came straight through, with no issues. The Gigabit Ethernet connection performed great. It saw a 7MS Ping with a 952mbps download and a 35mbps upload with no issues. I played a few games using the hub onto an external monitor. It did not handle 4K through gaming that well, though I would not have expected this, it did handle 1080p perfectly (FPS and Racing games worked perfect in this resolution). I honestly was not expecting it to do so well, as there are higher priced and bulkier docks on the market that don’t handle this at all. Extra Info: I also used this hub plugged directly into the USB-C connection of my Android Phone. It automatically recognized it and displayed the Android Desktop on my monitor. It also took the connection for the keyboard and mouse and my file explorer app on my phone immediately recognized the external drive plugged into it. I know few would think to use it this way, but it worked as I intended it to. I was able to open my office apps, view photos and run all my android apps perfectly this way on my monitor. It has even given me some ideas for automation or car tech. Overall: This device worked as intended. I’d be more impressed if the cable could tuck away somehow. The hub got warm and did heat up more, but it never got “hot”. I think its great the SD Slot is on here, but I don’t think its necessary. Most laptops come with this and its not intrusive so people can usually just plug their SD card into their laptop. I would have liked to see another USB port here instead and/or a headphone jack. Though that’s personal preference. They could have used a MicroSD and an extra USB port here instead also. The performance overall exceeded my expectations when connecting a secondary monitor and used for gaming (which it is not intended for or advertised for and probably shouldn’t be used over the direct HDMI port on your laptop). This was a pleasant surprise. It performs all the intended functions well and easily.

There is a place to put a thumb drive, USB, and SD card. It used more for a computer. The directions aren't very clear either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Multimedia Hub This is a great multimedia hub. I have been looking into getting one of these for a while and I am glad I decided to get this one. The look is nice and sleek, the materials and craftsmanship seem high quality, and it has a nice selection of ports. My one tiny complaint is that I personally wish the USB-C cable was a bit longer, but I may be part of a very small minority with that opinion. Everything functions exactly as it should. Belkin is a company I have grown to trust over the years and I have faith that this product will last. If you need a USB-C multimedia hub I would definitely recommend this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty This is made of metal. That's good for durability, but loud on desk surfaces (especially glass). Has a nice assortment of ports, everything works as expected. Definitely one of the better hubs overall that i've used. Would be an awesome permanent solution for a desk, but is obviously good on the go too (though it can be loud sometimes.)

It's longer than it's wide so it fits perfectly in your hand without it being bulky. The only things that I would change is the length of the USB-C cable and putting the cable on the other side of the hub but these are minor nuances.

So this device allows me to charge, and connect to my computer, multiple devices at the same time. Works beautifully. Only one point to keep in mind is that when you leave it plugged in for a while, it gets quite warm. I did not compare it to other similar devices, so it may be the same or better to others. Overall a great product!

The Belkin USB-C is a great device because I needed to get away from multiple cables and it includes everything I need (HDMI, 2 USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader, Ethernet, and USB-C for power only). Two things I would like to have seen on this, the first is the max wattage supported on the power was 60W and most laptops I work with use 65W and a card reader that reads multiple card types instead of just SD cards. Other than that its great! You can also plug it into your phone and use a usb stick and/or SD card (I verified this using my Pixel 3).

When I used it, everything seemed to work, but I needed a port for charging, a problem was found. The iPad says that "there is no energy". I can't understand what the problem is. This hub is very compact and gives me the extra functionality when I need it but can easily be stowed in my computer bag when not in use. The hub is small but not crowded. Exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the Right Fit The construction of this hub is high quality. I use my laptop with multiple monitors and often find myself running out of USB ports. I only have 1 USB-C slot on my laptop, so this port allow for an extra USB-C. I really like the length of the connecting cord and how flexible it is. I have another one that is stiff and short, which makes it so it hangs off from the computer at a strange angle. The flexibility of this cord allows for more functionality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heating issues and ethernet connection stops works I am running this on a Macbook Air Retina, 13-inch, 2020 and Mac OS 11.2.3 and an external monitor (Panasonic 55 inch tv). I find that the hub gets very hot quite quickly (30 mins of use). I also have trouble with the ethernet port as it stops working after some time (maybe because it gets hot?) How to fix?

This has made life so much easier to charge devices, upload photos directly from the SD card and to connect to an external monitor. It's great to be able to run multiple things at once without having to unplug others. The USB upload speed is faster than other ports I've tried and the wiring seems to be holding up well compared to cheaper units.

This hub works great and has a lot of ports, including USB and HDMI and a SD card lot as well. It’s very light and compact so doesn’t take up a lot of room for travel. Belkin is a name I trust and we have used in our family before. I have confidence in this brand and this product matches the quality and standards I come to expect from Belkin.

I am able to hook up everything to this hub including my mouse, keyboard, printer, monitor, and ethernet cable. This is functional and has enough slots for everything I need to work at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expected more durability for the money I like the belkin hub and the variety of ports it has to offer. Unfortunately, for me the hub stopped working in one of the HDMI ports. For the cost of the port I was hoping to get some extended use out of it. I had to purchase a new one and I realized that the belkin got really hot as opposed to the new brand. I wanted to love this one but it just didn't' have the durability I would have liked. I did send my belkin hub back to the company for replacement and still haven't received anything back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purple stripe on screen Shows a purple stripe on the left side of the screen when I connect my 20" Cinema Display to the hub. When connected to the HDMI port on the 14" M1 MacBook Pro the screen works perfectly. The stripe isn't part of the displayed content, so it is impossible to make a screenshot. I have tried this with other Cinema Displays and they all have the stripe when connected to the hub. Is there any way to solve this problem?
